Re: CM and QC's 4th Anniversary WDW and Mouse Surplus Visit Trip Report!
Wed May 9th
Slept in again, but got up in time to make it to Boatwrights for breakfast, which was made even more wonderful by a couple at the next table over who were leaving that day. They still had two dining credits on their dining plan and insisted on paying for our breakfast (they were heading out right after that). We gratefully accepted (nowhere but Disney does that kind of niceness happen)! They were a really sweet family heading back to Michigan after a week at the "World". After breakfast, we explored the resort a bit more, talking for a bit with a cast member named Victoria. We were joined by a pair of mallard ducks who assumed that any humans standing still must be there to feed them. They were disappointed in us and quacked their displeasure before settling themselves on the grass next to us just in case we changed our minds. Hurried back to the room to get swim suits and such to head down to the main pool at POR. DaddyBear swam in the pool, while I basked in the Florida sunshine which felt amazing!!!! We hung out at the pool for about an hour and a half, then scootered over to POFQ. Beautiful trip along the Sassagoula River. Went to the food court there and had lunch, looked at the gift shop briefly, then caught the boat to go to DTD (never again in a scooter; somewhat scary experience getting on and off). Looked around WOD, PI, which is looking very good since all the construction stuff got removed, had dinner at Cooke's of Dublin (better that Raglan Road, but UK at Epcot still has better Fish n' Chips). Headed over to WestSide where we looked at a couple shops and made a necessary stop at Sunglasses Hut for glasses cleaner and cloths. Just as we were about to leave, the rain that had been threatening for about an hour or so decided to pour. We stayed at the Hut talking with CM until the rain stopped (about 30 minuted), then headed for the bus....and a host of trouble. The drivers had decided to schedule a sick in that evening and we waited 45 minutes for a bus that would stop and take us home (one of the drivers told us about the strike). We heard about seven different versions of why the delays occurred. We would have the same problem coming back from MK the next day. Anyway, got back finally, took another spin around the grounds of POR, spoke to a number of different guests we ran across, saw bunnies hanging out on the grass and made our way to bed for another blissful night of sleep after saying goodnight to Stacey (and her Top 7 attractions). MK was next

Golly! We'd better finish this one before our next trip this coming weekend!!!!
I hope you guys aren't going to get sick of us... ![]() (We also have about a million more pics I haven't posted but they are artsy-style pics of close-ups of flowers and plants at Port Orleans and things like that. Don't know if that would be tediously excessive or not... let us know!) David |
