Hi friends,

I'm back on my feet - got hit with what I thought was a cold at the end of the trip but I found out this weekend it was the flu. Which is why I was in bed for 2 days

It sucked.

I'll have time to upload pics and continue the report today... but I noticed there are so many other new TR's I want to read too! How will I find the time? lol

Day 3 (Sat May 19): Blizzard Beach and Spoodles

The plan today was to spend the day with my maid of honour Jill and her boyfriend Dave, and with Mike's best man Chris (his twin brother) and his wife Brandi. We were doing Blizzard Beach and then dinner at Spoodles.

Blizzard Beach was a blast as usual. Mike and Chris hit the summit plummit (which the rest of us would not do) a few times, and we had a great time doing everything else together. Unfortunately none of the photopass pictures we took here turned out, so I don't have any photos from the daytime.

We all headed back to our hotels late in the afternoon to freshen up for our dinner at Spoodles and were meeting back at 6.

Spoodles is great! Although the menu overall wasn't exactly my type of food, I thoroughly enjoyed what I ordered (Cheese flat bread and salad) and the environment was great. We all had a great time!

We just walked the boardwalk a bit after dinner, and we were all starting to get excited about the rehearsal tomorrow and the wedding the next dy now that we could show our friends the actual location.

Side story that was kinda funny/weird...

On the way to Spoodles, Dave, Jill's boyfriend (who is pretty much the funniest person I've ever met) asked a CM at their hotel (AS Music) if they could walk to the Boardwalk. Now Dave has never been to Disney, so he had no idea that things are pretty spaced out and that very few places are able to be walked to.

The CM proceeded to tell him that no, it's too far, but even if you wanted to, he wouldn't recommend it. He said Disney World is built on swamp land and that there are plenty of gators, snakes, etc, on the grounds in wet areas that make it unsafe to walk certain places, etc.
And then he said "And there's the cats. Big cats". And then he slowly walked away... backwards. Staring at them.

Ok, how weird is that?! Cats? Big cats? At Disney? Maybe at the Animal Kingdom, but that's it.

And what's with the weird backwards walking away?

I think this guy should have been working at the ToT or something with a weird act like that one - lol.

Anyways, after hanging at the boardwalk a bit, we headed over to the Coronado to greet the rest of our guests, who were coming in today. We managed to catch everyone, but noticed my Italian Grandmother was missing.
Apparently, there was a huge accident on the highway that takes you into Buffalo, and she and my uncle and his family missed their flight, as did many others. So much so that they couldn't get them anther flight to Orlando at all out of Buffalo that weekend.

They had to drive to Rochester to get another flight the next day. And my Nona (Italian Grandmother) wouldn't be able to make the rehearsal dinner. I was pretty worried about her, because she has never flown before, but I was looking forward to her arrival tomorrow.

After a few hours at the Coronado, Mike and I headed back to the Beach Club by taxi and went to bed early.
