Re: Laurens Wonderfully Relaxing Trip to the World!
I felt really, really bad for the waitress too. I really hope the people realized they had "forgotten" to pay and went back, but there were just to many weird things that happened prior that makes me think this may not be the case.

Wow, how can people live with themselves after stiffing the waitress
![]() That cake is absolutely gorgeous. But I see what you mean, it was an adult cake. they could have done something with polka dots...

Love the cake, they really did a great job, and I'm sure your daughter loved it.
That is shame about that family next you, leaving and not paying. Unbelieveable.

That was a great picture of your daughter on the balcony. Those are my favorite pictures, the ones where the kids don't know I am taking them. :)
The cake looked sooo yummy!! I know what you mean about it not being exactly what you picture for a child though. And, that family, that skipped out, I don't have anything nice to say about it. That is just wretched behavior. :(

It was a bit pricey. The cost quoted to me prior was $100. We do have the DDE, which gave us a 20% discount, bringing it down to $80.

Re: Laurens Wonderfully Relaxing Trip to the World!
So, we head back to the resort, which was bittersweet for us. It was our last night here, and although it was fine, we were super excited to be heading to the Boardwalk tomorrow. Which also meant that Gramma was leaving tomorrow night.
We of course went swimming. Here's some pool pictures. ![]() Oh, yeah....the first day we got there, there was a funny little shape in the clouds. Anyone else see it?? ![]() Games at the main pool: ![]()

Re: Laurens Wonderfully Relaxing Trip to the World!
Thursday, June 21st.
We had done pretty much all of our packing the night before. The only concern was the cake. I decided what the heck, I'll just put it in the car for a couple of hours . We had an 8:05 ADR at Crystal Palace. Originally, I was thinking this was to be everyone's last day and we'd get up and go-go-go!! We had a little monorail trouble (again!) and arrived a couple of minutes late for the ADR, no problem though. Devyn had kept her birthday button on her lanyard, and when the hostess saw, she told us to wait one second. She then went over and decorated our table!! It was lovely!! Waiting for our table- ![]() She also had a delicious cupcake for dessert. Yep. Dessert at breakfast, hey....we're in Disney, right?? So, apparently the Indy 500 was the favorite ride for this trip. So, yes. We rode it again. We always ride the TTA to "chill out for a few" I guess Devyn took that quite literally this time. ![]() We decided to do the Laugh Club again. Honestly, if you've seen it once then your set-that's my opinion. Devyn and my Mom loved it the second time too, though! So, I was getting a bit worried about the cake. I decided we should head over to the BW to check in. Then I got the brain storm that I didn't need to have them come with me!! I was thrilled because that meant I could just speed through every process. It's much easier waiting on yourself, than on 3 people. I think my Mom was thrilled to be in the MK just her and Devyn too!! She's only ever been as part of a magical gathering, so there's usually so much waiting around happening!!!So, off we went!! I told them I'd call when I got back to the MK. So, even though it's easier to expedite yourself, I still got sucked into taking some pictures... Awe, horsies....just like home.......... ![]() ![]()

Love the pictures lauren. Sounds like a perfect trip. How did the cake make out in the car?

Re: Laurens Wonderfully Relaxing Trip to the World!
So, off to the Boardwalk I go!!!
Actually, first off I got a nice little tour of the MK parking lot. I knew when we went in this morning that we kind of went in in an odd way. I walked the way I was used to and noticed there were no cars. Anywhere. Hmmmmm...... Where could I have parked??? So, I do the only logical thing and look over my shoulder to be sure no one was watching me and did a 360. I talked with a CM along the way and she said the normal parking lot that they fill first was scheduled to be repaved later that afternoon. Hmph. So I did know where I was going. Kind of. So, I arrive at the lovely Boardwalk and check in with a 30 lb cake. I'm not kidding this cake had some serious ingredients in there. I think it included some lead. So, I approach the very nice CM at the front desk and get Welcomed Home..... sniff...I just love this line! And asked for my license. No problem, right?? Wrong. Where the heck was my ID? I frantically searched through my wallet, pulled everything out of my bag (not a pretty sight, I assure you) and proceeded to search my wallet again. WTH??? I just had it at the gate???? Soooooo, I had to trek back down to the car, but I very wisely asked if I could leave the cake there this time. Phew. That thing weighed more than Devyn. Truly, my arm hurt from carrying it!! I get to the rental car and figure it must have dropped on the drivers seat. Makes sense, right? Wrong again!! So now I start to panic. WHERE IS MY LICENSE???????? Maybe the guard kept it? No, I don't even think she looked at it to be honest. I'm pulling stuff out of everywhere, which is funny because the car really had nothing in it. FINALLY I find it. It was in the back seat, between my check in stuff from SSR and a book I was reading!!! Shannon always talks about 2 second heart attacks. I think I just had a five minute one. So, I make it BACK to the front desk again. Oh, and I must mention, the painters who were painting the curbing were all having a very nice time watching me walk back and forth, back and forth. Each time I got a very nice smile with a nice warm hello. I wish they had asked if they could have helped with the cake. At that point it was so freakin heavy, I would have given it to them!!!! LOLSo, I got all checked in but surprise, surprise....no room ready yet. No big deal. I really only wanted someplace to dump the cake, which bell services happily obliged. ![]() ![]()
