We got back on Sunday from our first trip to Disney World as a family and our baby's first trip to WDW. We had a WONDRERFUL time and I am so sad it's over. Here's the cast of characters:

Gabe - the star of the show, our 11 month old DS and future Disney fanatic

Me - Gabe's mommy, a stay at home mom and part-time college professor and full-time Disney lover

DH - Gabe's daddy

Mimi - my mom, Gabe's grammy

Pop Pop - my dad, Gabe's grampy

Hannah - my 15 year old niece

We were at WDW for 4 days - Thursday 10/18 - Sunday 10/21. We stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter.

Day One, Thursday 10/18:

I had to teach a class in the morning so we were planning on leaving after my class. Things went as planned and we were out of the house by 11:30 AM. We only live 2.5 hours away from WDW so we hit the road and arrived around 2:00. We parked at POFQ and headed to the lobby to check in. Check in was smooth and fast - we didn't have to wait at all and within minutes we had our room keys, but unfortunately we were told that our room wouldn't be ready until 4:00 since they were shampooing the carpet.

We were hungry so we headed over to the Food Court for lunch. We bought our refillable mugs and just relaxed for a while after eating. Baby was fascinated and was looking all around at the decorations hanging from the ceiling. He also stole the lid to my cup and it took me a while to get it back.

I can't wait to hear all about it. We are SOOOOOO close to our girls first trip to WDW and I can hardly stand the wait. We will be staying at POFQ too so please share all of the details. OH...and pictures too

Oops, I forgot to say that the first two days it was just DH, Gabe and I. My parents and niece came to join us on Saturday.

After lunch we decided to walk around the resort and check it out. I had stayed at POFQ before, but it was DH's and Gabe's first time there. Right as we were leaving the Food Court it started pouring! We decided to check out the gift shop and arcade until it stopped raining.

Gabe was still in possession of the stolen lid....

It stopped raining pretty quickly, but boy was it HUMID. We continued our tour of the resort. First we checked out the pool. It is so cool - I love the slide! Baby was not impressed, but at this point he was EXHAUSTED. He usually naps from about 11-2 every day so we were hoping he would nap during the drive to WDW, but he only slept for about a half an hour in the car and that ended up being it for the day.

We also walked down by the river. POFQ is so lovely - I just love it there!

We then decided to let baby play on the playground. It was great - he loved the squishy floor and crawled high speed all over.

Funny story - there was a little boy at the top of these stairs with a bag of Cheetos. Baby has never had a Cheeto, but boy did he want one. He managed to climb up three stairs trying to get to the Cheetos. Alas, the boy didn't want to share.

Thank you! It's a Quinny Zapp - we actually saw another family at POFQ with the same one. You are going to love POFQ - it is my favorite resort.

I wish I could post that picture of Gabe and his dad with the lid. It looks like

"Dad, here take a bite, it's really good, I've been eating it for an hour"

At 3:30 we called to see if our room was ready and it was! Yay! We were in Building 7 on the ground floor facing the parking lot, which was actually perfect for us since we had so much stuff to carry in from the car.

Our room was great! It was super clean and in excellent condition - we were very happy with it. We took a break in the room and set up baby's crib, then we started getting ready for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party!!!
