Your TAX DOLLARS allowed me to go to Disneyland!

Okay, so maybe I shouldn't be so smug...

But it's almost midnight, and I need to leave for LAX in less than four hours to go back to the salt mine that is my little island in the South Pacific..

But because the Department of Justice really really wanted depositions of my clients, I got to come back to California and grace the Disneyland Resorts! Sort of a windfall!

And, of course, I ended up getting to go to World Of Disney in New York!

Things I learned on my trip:

1. Air New Zealand air crews finally got rid of them horrid green leprechaun uniforms and are now wearing Death Star Grey!

3. Even if it isn't a heart attack, heart attack symptoms are just as painful.

2. The StoryTellers Cafe isn't just for kids..

3. Not even being able to keep Tylenol P.M. down is usually not a good sign..

4. You can really see a lot from the top of the Empire State Building on a clear day!

5. When the nice NYPD Officer is bigger than you, it's usually a good idea to just nod and agree..

6. It's good to know that deep down, you knew you were always right about Severus Snape..

Re: Your TAX DOLLARS allowed me to go to Disneyland!

I found myself in a time crunch, where I initially had to be in San Diego on the 1st of November. But the last flight out of Pago would be the 28th of November, and I had Court on the 29th. So I had to fly Air New Zealand on the evening of the 29th, and then fly Hawaiian back on the 8th, as I had Court on the 9th.

However, one way ANZ Samoa to LAX Business class: $1,000.00
One way LAX to Honolulu to Pago Pago Economy Seat: $800.00

It was worth spending the extra $200.00 for Air New Zealand! soon as I got to my seat, life was good.

Dinner
Smoked chicken breast with eggplant, zucchini and tomato caponata and citrus oil dressing. erved with Garlic Bread
I had Spicy Beef and Coconut curry with steamed turmeric rice.
Dessert passionfruit and pineapple coconut ice cream.

I slept.

Breakfast
Yoghurt and fresh fruit, Croissants, and Passionfruit French Toast with lemon poached pears.

As stated, the light grey death star uniforms were so much cooler than the irish green they had been sporting for years..

Landed at LAX, went through customs, and caught the shuttle for the Alamo Car Rental.

Re: Your TAX DOLLARS allowed me to go to Disneyland!

The neatest new thing I discovered in the United States this trip was the new way the car was rented..

Well, besides the fact that my Driver's license doesn't have a magnetic strip or bar code, so I couldn't check in by myself (as I don't exist in the system), but had to go up to the counter..

Instead of the Planes, Trains, & Automobiles, where you show up at the designated space G-4 and see nothing but tire tracks, I got something different.

They allowed you walk out to the parking lot to pick, right there, on the spot, the car you wanted.

So I could decide make, model, and color without delay!

So I chose a Cherry Red P.T. Cruiser (for $12.00 a day plus tax)

Re: Your TAX DOLLARS allowed me to go to Disneyland!

Drove down to San Diego..

But on the way, started feeling some serious pains. Too much exertion over the weekend, add the stress and all that, and my body was not happy.

Erik's Grandfather had some Mother's little helpers, so I felt a lot better an hour later.. Wednesday morning I ended up sleeping again from 9:00 a.m. to about 3:00 p.m. Felt 100% better and much more comfortable than I had in months.

Spent Halloween munching on Prime Rib at Outbacks..

Just did more lawyer stuff on Thursday and Friday, but left for Disneyland with the Heir Apparent in two on Friday afternoon.

Re: Your TAX DOLLARS allowed me to go to Disneyland!

Drove up to Disneyland, checked into the Anaheim Hilton, and went up to our room.

And promptly got lost. Didn't notice the "Service" Elevator sign, as instead of one service elevator, it was a bank of four.. So, instead of the lobby, we got:

The kitchen.

And spent a half hour on the fifth floor, trying to find the real bank of elevators.

We drove to the parking structure, thought of going to the movie theater, but we had missed the shows for that run.

Then we thought about catching a ride on the Monorail, but the line was terrible, and only a dozen or two passengers actually got off, so we decided the monorail was not going to be our entry way that evening.

It was a 20 minute wait for the Jazz Kitchen, so instead we went to the Storyteller's Cafe. I had always shunned this place, as, like Erik, we thought it was just a kid's restaurant that served macaroni and cheese.

But I was impressed. Erik had his fallback position of ribs, and I went with the four cheese ravioli. Frankly, I wasn't that hungry, otherwise I would have done the buffet, with the Prime Rib station.. But the Ravioli, with artichokes, peppers, mushrooms, could have been served at the Napa Rose next door, it was that good!

After dinner, we headed to Finding Nemo. But the line was too long.

We went to Pirates instead. After that, we headed to the Haunted Mansion.
By then, it was almost 11:00 p.m. (a bit past my pumpkin time) So we caught the 50 magical years, and then headed to bed..

I'd much rather my tax dollars pay for you to go to DL than pay for some stupid, overpriced toilet seat

Re: Your TAX DOLLARS allowed me to go to Disneyland!

Woke up, headed to Tiffy's for breakfast..

Erik had Pigs in a blanket..

I chose the Eggs Benedict..

Shoulda known better..

Went into Disneyland, rode Buzz Lightyear, for some reason my aim was off..

As you can see, breakfast wasn't doing me any favors...
