DAY 2- December 1

We got up bright and early...it was a bit cool, but we thought we would go out onto the beach before our short trip to the World. The girls wanted to get some shells for Ariel.

I love the beach


Don't know if you can make it out, but we wrote in the sand, "We're going to Disney".

Our plan was to arrive in the afternoon, get settled into our room and then head over to Hoopty Doo Review for our 5:30 ADR.

I was VERY pleased with the POFQ. They had a 92% occupancy over the dates we were there, but it still felt very small to me. I really loved the intimacy of it. I didn't really miss the fact that it wasn't a full service hotel. I would absolutely stay there again. Some of the CM's weren't the most friendly in the world, but the ones who were made up for it all.

Ok...I am getting way ahead of myself. I am POOPED and Avery needs me to read her a book and get her tucked away for the night. I will try and be timely, but please forgive if I become a day or two behind

We are finally here



It was nice to only have a two 1/2 hour drive. Everyone was happy and ready for a great day.


So we (Mommy and Mema) organized the room while DH took the girls around the POFQ. They ended up playing on the playground for quite some time (this was our preferred mode of "rest"....taking the kids to the nearest play ground while we sat on a bench and watched).

We decided to ditch the car and try out transportation (and ended up using Disney Transportation the entire time). We took the bus over to the Magic Kingdom

This was Avery's first ride on a bus and she was THRILLED (first Disney dream for Avery....I didn't even need the dream team)



Then we grabbed a ferry over to Ft. Wilderness for the Hoopty Doo Review. Look what we saw on our way over.

We gave ourselves an hour to use Disney transportation over to Hoopty Doo, but it really only took us 35 minutes.

It was fun to show the girls the castle and get them all jazzed up. There was an instant electricity in them from that point on....Disney Magic

This was the preferred mode of transportation for the older girls (DH's neck is still recovering):

I LOVED Hoopty Doo Review. It was my first time and I wasn't sure that I would enjoy, but I thought it was great. It was also a great way to get all the kids in a Disney state of mind. They really enjoyed hooting and hollering at the dinner table for a change. Lillian LOVED IT....she clapped the entire time.

My DH didn't so much enjoy it, although he did appreciate the way that it entertained our children throughout the dinner.

Food was alright. I thought the chicken was fantastic and the cornbread delicious, but the rest was just average. The sangria was YUMMMMMMY!

On a side note, I made these reservations for our party of 10 and we were actually a party of 9 (Great Grandma backed out at the last minute)...there were no problems adjusting that. When we first arrived they told us we needed a slip and that our hotel should have given us one....I had been talking to my front desk person AND concierge about the best mode of transportation and neither mentioned to me that I needed that, they let us in anyway....WHEW!

OK, another side note: I have only had my camera for a few weeks so many of my pictures came out yucky.

On our ferry ride back after HDD, we got our first glimpse of the castle all lit up. I just wish my pictures could do it justice, but there is just no way. It was the most beautiful thing EVER. This just got the girls even more excited.

That is it for Day 1. We got back to the room and went to sleep.


Alright....that is probably it for today as my children are screaming for my attention and my DH is dying to check on his fantasy football.

The next post will be about Day 2. We did Animal Kindom in the morning and MVMCP in the evening

What a great first day. Your girls are just so cute. Glad you liked Disney Transportation. It gets bad reviews so often. We love it.

It really was a nice way to start our trip...very relaxing and laid back.

I really loved the transportation. I can see how it could be frustrating for folks wantin to go commando in the parks....the timing is very unpredictable. For us, we were just taking it one step at a time and didn't want to worry about times. Actually, I didn't even wear a watch....how's that for laid back!!!
