I never dreamed I would ever be able to go to WDW at Christmas but last spring my DH told me we were going to WDW for Christmas. He had been talking to one of my principals who goes at Christmas and decided it was time we go. I didn't question it and booked the trip as fast as I could before he changed his mind. I booked POR and bought our plane tickets but I really didn't believe the trip would happen.

Fast forward to December and we're ready to go. Everything about this trip was stressful, I didn't know what to pack, I was worried bad weather would cancel our flight, and I didn't know want to expect at WDW at Christmas time. I was so stressed I didn't enjoy the weeks before our trip. I just couldn't let go of the fear that something would happen to ruin this trip.

We had to work on Thursday and Mike had a basketball game that night then we were headed to a hotel next to the airport. Mike's team won (but it was an ugly win), we loaded the bus and sent them on their way home and we headed to our hotel. It was only a 50 mile trip but it was so foggy we couldn't see a thing so it took a lot longer than it should have. We finally checked in at about 11 pm, set the alarm for 3 am, and quickly fell asleep.

The alarm went off after what felt like 5 minutes and we quickly got ready, parked the car in long term parking, and hopped on the van to the terminal. We wanted to get to the airport early since Mike couldn't check in on line for some reason. We got the the airport to find the SWA counter didn't open until 5 am. We had a 30-40 minute wait but it went by quickly. Mike waited in the airport check in line while Nate and I waited in the express line to check our luggage. Nate and I were done about 15 minutes before Mike and after that we were passed through security and had an hour or so wait at our gate.

Nate and I had A boarding passes (numbers 22 and 23 I think) and Mike was B 92. They didn't make us get in number order to board but called us by groups, A 1-30, 31-60 and so on. Nate and I were in the first few to board so we took the front row to have a little extra leg room. Mike was one of the last to board since our flight was only half full. Once everyone was on they announced that there were 25 people who were checked in but hadn't boarded so we were going to give them a few minutes. About 10-15 people hurried on carrying their baggieg of liquids and shoes and we took off. We were about 20 minutes late but the crew promised to make up that time in the air. It was still so foggy we couldn't see a thing. I'm really surprised we could take off in such thick fog but we did. I told Nate he needed to nap on the plane but that didn't happen. Mike and I dozed a little but none of us slept like I had hoped.

As much as I dreaded the flight it was uneventful and we landed early. We found the DME counter, checked in, made the required phone calls, and boarded our bus. We had 4 resorts on our bus, POFQ, POR, OKW and SSR. We were second to be dropped off after POFQ. Mike and Nate grabbed a seat while I checked in. To my surprise our room was ready, it was only about 11 am so it was an unexpected surprise. We took our carry on luggage to our room and headed out to the MK for lunch.

Ok, I hope to get a couple of days of this done today. I'm still doing laundry from our trip and our family Christmas trip and the house is a pit from running in late, dumping our WDW stuff off and leaving the next day. I also need to take the tree down today so I don't know how much I can get done but I'm going to try.

On this table was a bounce back offer for a 30% discount if we rebooked before we left. The dates didn't fit for us so we had to pass on it.

This is looking toward the sink area. I just noticed Nate's trying to hide in the corner.

Here's a closer picture of the two towel animals on the sink. We left them there all week and didn't get them wet.

I took over 1,200 pictures. A lot are junk but I have a few good ones in there. I have just started playing with some of the features of our camera and I hope to get better before our May/June trip.
