Just got back from my fun-filled WDW vacation with the band. Tons of details and lots of fun! Plus, inspired, I videotaped a good bit of our trip (I have four hours of footage I need to edit). Since I spent so much time with the video camera, I don't have that many pictures, but my friends took a lot, and we will swap soon.

Okay, I'll start...

So we had to meet at the high school at 7:45pm on February 6. We had a little meeting then brought out all of our equipment. Only, the buses didn't get there until maybe 9:15, but we immediately loaded and were off by 9:30.

They put in the movie "Flushed Away." It is incredibly bazaar and I do not recommend it. The movie had ended and we were just approaching Atlanta (atl is maybe an hour and a half to two hours away... a bit slow, I must say). We were supposed to sleep overnight on the bus. However, I forgot to pack a blanket and it was FREEZING cold. So I was shivering and shaking. I managed to fall asleep... for 20 minutes. Then I woke up freezing. Eventually, the air turned off and it got warm, again. I fell asleep, only to wake up to more cold air. I could not get comfortable, being so cold. I checked my watch and realized it was only 2:15. GRR!!! So, I went to the bathroom (maybe it was warmer in there). A lot of kids had resorted to lying down in the middle of the aisle and I stepped on at least three people headed to the back. Brianna was so nice as to lend me a flashlight to make my way to the bathroom with, so I wouldn't step on anyone's head. It was definitely warmer in the bathroom. I considered sleeping in there, but quickly decided against it. On my way back, I tripped over a blanket in the aisle that no one was under. Melody claimed it, and I asked if I could borrow it and she said, "Yeah, sure!" So, I grabbed that blanket and went to my seat. Finally... I could rest.

Until the rest stop. Grr... I get up and run to the bathroom then run back and fall asleep under that blanket. I woke up a couple more times during the night. It was definitely not a pleasant slumber.

Gosh! I remember school bus trips to WDW! They would always make us leave in the evening..we would get NO sleep and eat candy and disgusting crap the whole way there. Ah, what fun!

Oof, I definitely know that it's like trying to sleep when you're freezing cold! That's how it was on the plane on our way to WDW...I couldn't sleep at all, and part of the reason was because it plane was an ice box!

I just spent the weekend watching the videos from 1999, 2001 and 2004. My how people change and grow up. I wish I have taken more and LMM did. Good move, kiddo.

I wake up to talking from the front of the bus and find us stopped at the Toll Roads (is it SunToll?). I check my phone and it’s 6:00… We aren’t supposed to be up until 6:30 but there’s no way I can fall back asleep. So I look out the window (I love driving through Central Florida) as I semi-doze. We get closer and more people wake up. I feel us going in a big circle and I know where we are. WALT DISNEY WORLD!!!! We stopped at the McDonald’s in wdw (just like Soundgod suggested… had nothing to do with me, though). I was one of the first off the bus, and my sister and I raced for the bathrooms and changed before it got crowded. I took off my glasses and was about to put in my contacts when… oh, man, I left them in the bus.

I run out to the bus and the driver is locking the door. “Please let me in!” I pleaded. “Uh, sure… what do you need?” “Left my contacts,” I explained. He unlocked the door and I went in and put my contacts in on the bus (as to avoid the crowded bathroom). So I go back into Mickey D’s and set my stuff down at a table then get in line. It takes a while… I was a dollar short and had to borrow from my sister. Then I was 67 cents short and had to borrow from Steven who was behind me. I ordered a sausage biscuit and orange juice. Mr. Smith gave me a plain biscuit that he didn’t want, and I spread grape jelly on half and ate that. Didn’t finish the OJ, so I stashed it in my bag.

Okay, enough of the TMI. Go back into the bathroom and freshen up my face and breath… it was crowded and definitely not fun. But my Disney Couture shirt (Christmas present) made me feel adorable, so I was okay...

Emily and I go outside and take pictures in front of Mickey D’s. The bus driver asks us if we’ve never seen a McDonald’s before. David tells him that he’s never seen a McDonald’s with a hamburger that looks like it’s going to eat him before.

So, we eventually all get back on the bus and drive to the All-Star Movies Resort. We waited forever to check in. FOREVER!!! It was torture.

While we were waiting, I heard someone say, “There really isn’t a difference between MGM and Magic Kingdom.” I stood up and said, “Yes, there is a very big difference. Would you like me to tell you?” In need of entertainment, they said yes. I told them that MGM Studios was no longer MGM, but Disney’s Hollywood Studios and that Hollywood Studios was based on movie production and that Magic Kingdom was best compared with Disneyland, having the hub-and-spoke layout. I definitely gave them more information than they could remember or comprehend, but it helped pass the time.

Finally, the bus pulls around near our building (101 Dalmations) and we unload our luggage into 4 different rooms. It was chaos and everyone kept getting lost, but finally we all made it back to the buses and were on our way to Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
