I. Introduction

It took a year to plan. It took compromise and patience. It took several meetings, phone calls, text messages and emails to coordinate. But it was well worth it all in the end. We had a magical vacation, which is no easy feat involving 12 people from 3 separate families.

I will tell you a story of our grand gathering, 10 days on Walt Disney World property. While there were a few tense moments and perhaps one or two scenes which could have been titled "The Clampits Go to Disney World", I couldn't have dreamed how well it all worked out.

Meet the Gang:

Son Nick, aka Satellite. Enjoys Disney Quest, breakfast at Ohana and chasing cheerleaders.

Son Matty, aka Mappy Matt. Enjoys StarTours, Refillable mugs, and swimming in the Hippy Dippy Pool.

Daughter Val, aka Grumpy. Enjoys The Tower of Terror, Stitch and pin trading.

Daughter Zoe, aka Oompa Loompa. Enjoys Dumbo, dining plan snacks and pictures with the characters, especially Minnie Mouse.

Nephew Bailey, aka Crash. Enjoys Lights, Motors, Action, Expedition Everest and swimming in the Hippy Dippy Pool.

Nephew Damion, aka Damo. Enjoys Tommorowland Speedway, the Kilimanjaro Safari and $2 packs twizzlers.

My Prince Charming, Stu, aka Lumpy. Enjoys Animal Kingdom, Window Shopping and eating his way through Walt Disney World.

My Sister, Jaclyn, aka Jerklyn. Enjoys the Pop Century, the disney dining plan and Petals Pool Bar.

My Brother-in-law, Mark, aka Animal. Enjoys Whispering Canyon Cafe, Nemo the Musical and all of WDW much more than he ever thought he would.

Our Friends, Damian and Tiffany, aka Weiner and Snacktime. Enjoy Animal Kingdom, Illuminations and eating their way through Walt Disney World.

Me, Jen, aka Commander. Enjoys the magic and wonder of all it!

There you have it, that's our crew in our homemade tee-shirts we wore to Disney Hollywood Studios one day. Most of our nicknames were earned on our 2007 trip and during our planning for this trip. I couldn't have asked for a better group of people to share this trip with!
