rest of my Trip Report, a little delayed, lol

Ok guys- yea I know it's been 2 weeks since my vacation, and I know there is NO excuse whats so ever for why I haven't finished my trip report, but can you cut me some slack this time?? lol:whistle: :D Let's pick up from where I left off shall we? Me and my mom have just finished the Keys tour and are now stranded infront the MK flag pole, wondering what to do now. Well it was about 2:30 and the people were picking there spots on the curb for the parade. We decided to sit on the curb, under a tree kind of in the middle of Main Street. An announcer came on the PA and introduced the 3 high school marching bands that were making there way down Main Street. There were 2 from Texas and one from Maryland. After them followed the parade. The parade was great, same old snow globes, but this time not a hint of the 100 years celebration on them. After the parade me and my mom realized how incredibly HOT it was, even sitting in the shade. It must have been at least 90º, and it was one of those dry, no breeze days, just the hot sun beating on your back, lol. We decided that we had our fun for the day, and we were deffinitely not up to walking around the park, we were just plain pooped out. We went and picked up our picture that we took in the beginning of the day at the kodak center by the entrance, after that we departed with the MK and decided to take a journey on the Monorail. As the resort monorail made it's stops we were able to relive our stay at the Contemporary, and take a peak of the Polynesian where we had PS's for O'hana's the next morning. Then finally came the GF! That resort is pure luxury and romance at its best. The chandellers (Sp?) were beautiful, so was the bird cage and music playing through out the lobby. The pianist played an amazing version of somewhere over the rainbow. We decided to hop back on the monorail and catch the AKL bus at the MK. We walked through our hotel room door at about 6 o'clock, we had 1 hour before our PS's at Boma's!
Finally came the dinner I was waiting for! For some reason Boma's was extremmmmmeely busy, and even though we had ps's for 7, we ended up waiting in the Hotel Lobby until 7:30 when our table was ready. I thought Boma's was delicious, as did everyone else in my family, except my mother, I never realized how conservative and traditional she was when it came to food until that night, lol. I tried the Spicey chicken and ribs. I normally hate spicey food, but I couldn't stay away from these 2 dishes! Yes my mouth was burning and in pain, but I just couldn't get enough! lol. We all tried the Fufu, It's sweet mashed potatoes. They also had Peanut Butter rice, which made me gag at the thought, but actually tasted quite yummy, lol. The Potatoes with Afritude was also good, it was small pieces of fried potatoes with spices on them (not spicey). I don't know how on earth Im remebering all these names! lol. My little brother and my mom ending up dining at the kids station (or "pod" as they call them at Boma's) where they had the fries, chicken tenders, and spaghetti with Meatballs. Then came Desert!!! I tried to try everything! lol. Yes, I finally had one of the famous Zebra domes! lol. I thought they were great, but kind of small. They also had cookies, brownies, chocolate musse (sp?), and the other basic desserts. All in all I would say that in order to eat at Boma's you MUST have an abilitily to be adventurous (not like my mom, hehe), and you gotta be hungry! lol. You will not recognize anything on the menu, becuase everything really is African food, and you might not be able to pronounce some of the names (Sadly, those are the ones I stayed away from..im adventurous, but not that much!) I would have to recommend this to any family that is willing to try it. After Boma's me, my dad, and older brother headed out to DTD to catch X-men 2 at the Pleasure Island AMC, it was a greta movie and the theater was HUGEE! I mean there literally was a balcony above us, and the screen could easibly equal an IMAX one! I think the theater was as big as the theater I saw the Lion King on Broadway! I guess they reserve the big movies for the the big theaters, lol. After the movie we sluggishly boarded the bus back "home" to the AKL. The day's activities were taking there toll!
We had PS's to the Character breakfast at O'hana's at 10 I think. We checked out of the AKL and rushed over to the Poly as fast as we could. It was mother's day, so of course there were a gazillion mothers with there kids of all ages. It only took us 20 minutes this time to get our table. The breakfast was very good. There were mickey mouse shaped pancakes, sasauges, scrambled eggs, and assorted fruit. All of this was brought to us by our waitress and palced on the lazy susan in the middle of the table. She also presented my mother and father an anniversary magical moments certificate and my brother a birthday certificate. As we ate we were visited by Goofy, chip, dale and of course the Big Mouse himself! They kept coming back to our table to mess around with my little brother, Chip (or dale?? lol) tried to steal my brothers cupcake that the CM's brought him. And mickey posed for a great picture with my mom and dad. In the middle of the breakfast they had a conga line, lead by Mickey of course and they passed out maracas to the little kids, which they went crazy with! Aftwerwards we picked up our picture we had taken while wating for our table. Nice family shot behind a sign that said O'hanas. After a fulfilling, fun breakfast we hopped back on the resort monorail, this time with the whole family and stopped off at the GF for my dad, and 2 brothers, that haven't seen the hotel.
After that it was time to pile back into the rented chevrolet blazer in the Poly parking lot and head home:cry: . I spent most of the journey down state road 27 sleeping. It was alot more scenic then the florida turnpike, or any other way. After 3 1/2 hours we pulled into our drive way, and Of course right after unloading I rushed here to DC!!
Joe:)
p.s. Hope you guys enjoyed the ending to my report, I look forward to going on alot more Disney vacations and writing more reports!! lol

Joe, thanks for a great report! Sounds like you had a really good time. Are you only 3 1/2 hours from the Mouse!!! :p I would love to live that close :D I really enjoyed Bomas too. I couldn't believe that even Maegan tried the different foods and liked them (I need a shocked smiley here 0_0 lol). I agree though, if people don't like trying new things, they probably won't like Bomas because I didn't recognize anything we had! Well, that's not true...I recognize "chocolate" anywhere;) I loved our waitress though, she explained everything to us and was great.

Glad you had a great Vacation. Thanks for the last of the report :)

(did you join the Conga line too ;) )
