I with you! I hoping to lose some weight before my October trip. It will be much easier to take the heat too!

Have any pics from this trip?

I am trying to cut out carbs and sugar (my favorite foods) so I can loose some extra pounds before our trip this summer. I know how hard it is but I also know how good it will feel when we reach our goal! You could do it!

Re: David & David and the and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Trip (Report)

First of all I have been avoiding trip reports to keep me from being depressed (including finishing my own) but I had to read this one because you of all people CANT have a bad trip!!! That stinks about the front desk- I would write a letter to them about that because that is just unacceptable! Who brings the ME bags up if that is the case. As for the dining plan- I think that they should do the app instead of dessert because of that diabetes reason alone- its just not right and is really not fair in the end. I recently lost 30 pounds and it was so hard to say not to the foods I wanted to eat- you have no idea now small true portions are or how much fat is in something until you have to monitor it and watch it- once you get used to it though you will find it easy to say "I cant have that" and then move on. the 30 seconds you have it in your mouth is not worth the lifetime of fat on your hips. I would say to myself -" I wont remember that I ate this but I will remember fitting into a smaller size" it helped me put it all down and walk away.

We did take pics! We will need to process (unload from camera, shrink down to fit posting rules etc. -- otherwise they're kind of massive) them before posting though.

We were at MK Saturday of Gays Days and other than being SUPER crowded we had a wonderful time. Everyone we met was so nice and almost everyone we were near in line went out of their way to talk to us. We were at the Poly Saturday night and the lobby was full of red shirts and everyone was having so much fun. The groups on either side of us were so fun and went out of their way to be friendly. I hope you get to go next year, it looks like a wonderful time for everyone involved.

We did "lose it" the last day - we just couldn't face all that food again. Last time out we bought the Disney Dining Card - for $60.00 we can eat anywhere we like and get a 20% discount - works much better for us.
I like the DDP for the same reason you disliked it...once I got over the feeling that I had to "zero out" my credits, this turned out to be great for us. I tend to be a severe worrier about money, especially when we are travellign. By paying for everything ahead of time, and not having to worry about having enought credits/food, it really allowed me to enjoy the days & meals a lot more than if I was having to count pennies every night in the room to make sure we weren't going over our planned meal budget. I agree, the old plan was WAY to much food, and that's why the 1 TS a day strategically planned (late breakfast/early lunch or late lunch/early breakfast) was really enough with one snack or CS meal in the day.

I agree they should allow you to choose whether you opt for the appetizer or dessert in addition to the entree of the meal in the new plan. It would give folks a lot more flexibility and be an easy way to help folks swallow that wopping $1 cost decrease in the "new & improved" dining plan!
