On Sunday morning we went and explored Cocoa Beach and the town of Cocoa which is on the mainland. There was a whole shopping historic district on the river front which was gorgeous..but sadly..closed.

I know its weird how shopping districts close down on Sundays in Florida ...

Also there were a lot of places on the road where you could just pull over and see water..it was awesome!
  Dave also found a big bamboo stick...he was really excited about it.

I am sitting in my office waving my hand and yelling, I DO, I DO! That is the answer to your "does anyone want to hear about WDW?" question.
  Your hair really does look very good. Did ya'll cram the giant bamboo stick into your vehicle for a souvenier?

On to Disney!! Day One!
After a great long weekend in Cocoa Beach we headed off to Disney. The ride only took about an hour but holy toll roads batman! We went on..528? I think to I-4 and there were 3 tolls roads between Cocoa Beach and Disney. Luckily I had lots of change so it wasn't a huge deal but it was weird! We arrived at our Old Key West around 8 a.m. to a virtually empty lobby and we were checked in within 5 minutes. Our room wasn't ready but we weren't expecting it to be yet so we were given the card and told to call after 3. We made our way over to the lobby concierge where we purchased our tickets. There was no one in line at the LC so we ended up talking to both CM's working the counter and they were great (as was our check-in CM but more on him later). They asked us if we were celebrating anything special while we were here and I told them we were celebrating Dave's birthday! The CM's got very excited and grabbed a birthday button for him. The CM wrote "The Man, The Legend..Dave" for his name. It was very appropriate.

Off to the parks!
Since our room wasn't ready we decided that we needed to head to MK right away! By the time we checked in and got situated it was around 9 a.m. so we headed to the bus stop at the Hospitality House and waited for the bus. The MK bus pulled up within minutes and we were on our way! We had not been to Disney in awhile and they last time we were there they did not have the automated greetings on the buses so I was a little surprised by them! As soon as we sat down we heard "Ladies and Gentlemen please help me wish a very special Happy Birthday to one of our guest on the motorcoach!" I got very excited and Dave turned 18 shades of red. Then the bus driver had the entire bus sing Happy Birthday to Dave. He was only sort of embarrassed but he relished in the attention (all week long!) This bus driver was by far the best we had all week. I think he really liked to press his automated greeting buttons because halfway to the MK we heard "Ladies and Gentlemen, unfortunatly at this time the Magic Kingdom has reached capacity and is not admitting anymore guest.....etc..." Then our driver said "April Fools!"  It was hilarious and very entertaining way to kick off our trip!
