What a funny TR! I can just imagine your son's face when he realized that he was in the wrong room. Too funny.
Congratulations on the terrific upgrade. I love the Polynesian!

Kim---I think an Owner's Locker is like a storage container that is stored for you. So if you are lucky enough to go to Disney frequently you can store some of your stuff in it so you do not have to lug it back and forth! I guess it is a portable storage unit. NOt too sure what people may store in them-- maybe toiletries so they do not have to keep packing them????

We are so doing this next time we go. I wish we had done it this summer but my Dh said we didn't need it--until we made two trips this summer. I think we could easily fill it with the stuff we pack every trip. I'm not a light packer and this would really help me stop over packing.

I'm back!! Thanks for answering that question, Stephanie. We have so much stuff in our purple box- it's wonderful to travel WDW. All of our toiletries, light up toys, coffee, sweatshirts, kid's clothes, etc. It's great considering that airlines are charging now for bags.

Here's a photo of my son with our Purple Box so you can see the relative size:

Re: Leslie's "We Toured Cinderella Castle at 1 am " TR

Did anyone notice I can now post photos??? So, on with the TR!!

When last we talked, my poor DS had mistakenly visited another room to use the toilet... it was just so funny that it took the rest of the day to get all of the details. He got into the room because the locking bar was turned out into the doorway, keeping the door from closing. He was in such a hurry to get to the bathroom, that he just didn't notice it was the wrong room At least he didn't stink up our room

If he had been aware of his surroundings, he would have noticed that the balcony view was missing the castle!! Here is what he would have seen from the right room (zoomed in)

Re: Leslie's "We Toured Cinderella Castle at 1 am " TR

So, Day 2 was off to a rough start!! I wanted to be on the bus to DHS by 8, but the free arcade and bathroom event pushed that back to almost 8:30 I know 30 minutes doesn't sound like a big deal, but my MB friends know that to get on new attractions like TSM, you have to be there at opening.

Guess what? we got to TSM at 9:15 and the line to GET a fastpass was longer than any fastpass line I have ever seen anywhere for any ride ever. It was almost to Little Mermaid (and wrapping around the covered area of Narnia). The wait was 90 minutes already (which is odd since the park hadn't been open very long.

Needless to say, we did not get to ride TSM this day Oh well, there's always December AND... later that night we were scheduled to have a tour of Cinderella's Castle Suite! So, the day was going to be good no matter what

Since everyone was at TSM, there was NOONE at RnRc and ToT!! We got FPs anyway, and rode RnRc twice, and in a RARE move by me, I rode ToT with my DH. To explain, ToT is the only ride I never go on. I hate elevators, have an extreme fear of heights, and just don't enjoy this ride. I was just so excited about the Castle (and our room upgrade) that I just did it. It was like a mini-date without the kids, because neither of them like ToT. So, to enjoy a few minutes of peace and quiet with no kids bickering, we rode ToT

Since I just regained my photo posting ability, here are some more photos:

This is a view of Tuvalu from the side. We had a third floor with a balcony (around the corner to the right).

Here's the view from the Sea Raycer we rented- last room on the right was our amazing upgrade!

The decor was nice- the room was really big, and these beds were very comfortable!

Re: Leslie's "We Toured Cinderella Castle at 1 am " TR

Back to DHS- after RnRC and ToT we went to One Man's Dream, had candy from the Villian's Shop, and then left the park ! It was hot, we were hungry (again), we wanted some pool time (and free arcade time ), and we needed to rest up for our 1:00 am tour!

The pool was great- I got some good photos:

Re: Leslie's "We Toured Cinderella Castle at 1 am " TR

We lounged at the pool- I had a raspberry pina colada (forgot the name) and it really was GREAT! We had a nice, light lunch at Kona Cafe (paid OOP since I didn't want to use TS credits). We had an ADR at Boma that night, and I wanted to be hungry for my zebra domes

DH took a long nap, and the rest of us lounged some more at the pool. It was just so relaxing. I could have stayed there for days. I met some nice people from the UK who were at the Poly for three weeks!

Our ADR was for 6:15, so we took the monorail to the MK at 5:00, then hopped on the bus to AKL. We got to AKL (and Boma) a little early and walked around- AKL is such a beautiful resort, and I'm glad we got to stay there this year. After being spoiled by the monorail though, I don't know if we'd pick AKL over a monorail resort

Dinner was great until dessert, and once again, we had a great server. As an aside, I see the service at WDW getting even better- I know people complain, but I just don't see it.

Boma was packed (maybe because of Free Dining ) but great as usual. I love that watermelon rind salad, and the coconut seafood curry soup. Then, it was time for dessert... (insert ominous music). There was a table of eight or ten right next to us. The highchair was almost touching my seat. I LOVE babies and kids. You know what's coming...

The poor baby starts to cry. Then scream. Everyone at that table ignores the baby. Really- for a long time.... some people even get up to get more food- the baby continues to be left alone. Obviously, the poor thing was unhappy/tired/sad/hungry. More than 5 minutes of crying and no attention whatsoever. I turned around many times, but noone seemed to care that
1) the baby needed something and 2) it was EXTREMELY loud and disturbing to everyone around. Crying babies are a part of life, but when my children cried in a restaurant or movie, they got my attention immediately because they needed me and it is the considerate thing to do. I almost offered to take the baby for a walk, but didn't want to seem like a wierdo. There were plently of people there to help the little guy, but noone paid him any attention. I felt badly for him (and us!)

So, zebra domes were a bust and we left Boma without having our coffee. We shopped in the gift shop, which is one of my favorite resort gift shops, and then my brilliant DH walks outside to a taxi. He calls us over and says he's too full and tired to deal with the bus and monorail, so we'll take the
taxi back to the Poly. We had the best driver!! It was about $19.00 (kind of pricey) plus tip.

It was about 9:00 pm and I was ready to get to the MK for our tour (at 1 am ) DH wanted a nap- what else is new? I got the kids showered and ready for bed. My 13 year old babysits for his brother, so we felt he was old enough to watch him in the hotel room. I was only able to get two spots on the castle tour since the reservations went so quickly. More on that to come later...

Lovin' your TR! The photo on the slide is awesome! I usually get 1) an empty slide (lol) 2) foot or head of my DChild or 3) someone elses kid lol!

Can't wait to hear about the castle tour. Sounds like your trip so far has been really fun! (minus the screaming baby...poor thing)
