I'm back, from our week long trip to celebrate my DS bday!! I could put it all in a few words...Hot, hot, rain, storms, sick, hot, sick....you get the picture!! ;)

I'm going to post all my trip reports in this one thread. It will be long, so bear w/me!!:D


All Star Sports - June 8th - June 15th.

Cast: Me, DS (turned 8 on trip) my Mom, and my Grandma (81!)

[b]Sunday June 8th, Day One - Check in day

We left home around 11:30 am. Got a call on cell from grandma at 12, upset and saying "you're never going to find me". She had already made it to WDW, got lost and ended up at Typhoon Lagoon!! It had been raining hard when she got there, but when we found her it had stopped.

We got to AS Sports at 2:30pm to check in. It was about a 20 minute wait. Very lucky to get a wonderful CM!!!!!:) She told my ds that she was going to go to MK and see Mickey after she got off work, and she was going to tell Mickey about Brandon having a birthday!! She also mentioned the mugs, and I said ds and I had some from before. She asked if we brought them (and I can't lie) and said yes, she whispered, "Good, use them!!";)

We drive around to our area, and unload the trucks. I sneak up to our room, to leave the welcome basket from Mickey and the Gang!! Then back to get everyone and take pictures and record ds finding his basket! Many loads later, we were all unpacked from the trucks!

We got connecting rooms!!! Yeah!! This was such a great thing for us! (thanks mickey!) We were in Touchdown 10, rooms 214 & 215, on the second floor. We were facing the parking lot, but there were trees there, so we weren't looking straight into the parking lot! I was happy about this, didn't want to be near the football field, I wanted a more peaceful stay. We were still very close to the buses and the pools and the food courts. We also had a fridge in my moms room for her meds. (No charge)

We unpack, cool off, put up the bday decorations in the window and let ds open his present that has his Buzz swim trunks and sandals in it.

Time for diner...catch bus to MK,and boat from Contemporary to Trails End Bufett. (TEB) **No PS accepted here**Boats run from Cont, to Ft wilderness until 10pm** The walk from boats was less than 5 minutes! (Thanks to DC I knew this, and where to walk!) The food here was WONDERFULL!!! Yummy! Not busy at all around 6pm. (Hoop De Do Review is right next door!) My ds was very happy that our server, Gary, asked him to "be in charge and make sure the ladies are behavin!"

We walked around the petting zoo (not much there today) and pony rides were closed for the day (they close at 5pm) We saw a white peacock, and two rabbits outside the petting zoo. We decided it was too hot and muggy to stay for campfire and movie, so we go back to resort..this time taking the boat directly to MK and catching our bus from there.

**We stopped at our resort shop, and my mom bought me a Pal Mickey (gotta love mom!!). She said it was my bday present (my bday is in august!)**

DS opened his present (a disney PJ set) and we watch Bedtime story on tv.

Highlights: NO complaints at all from mom and gma today!! They were happy to have me as guide! My ds saying "I can't blieve we're finally here, in my new pj's , in our own room, in my own bed at Disney world for my birhtday!! I love you mom" (of course this whole trip is worth it for that statement alone!)

Bad part: toliet flushing and showers were heard constantly from 1030pm-after midnight...didn't get much sleep this night!

Weather: HOT HUMID and sprinkled when we were unpacking.

Sure hope this isnt the way the rest of the week is going to go!! Wake up call from mickey at 645am. Supposed to be AK Early Entry day - but mom and gma need to activate their FL Play 4 day passes and a call to the Front Desk, tells us that Guest Services dosen't open until 9am. :devil So we change plans and decide to go to Epcot instead. At buses, gma realized she forgot her DL in room and she needed it to prove FL residency...so off they go, while we hold our place in line. TWO buses go by, and they still aren't back. They finally come out and we are on our way.



* Just missed character caravan
*We walked right on Figment
*Walk on Living w/the land.
* 4 minute wait for Circle of Life
* 3 minute wait for Food Rocks. (mom and gma liked this!)

Off to World Showcase:

*Get Mcdonalds fries at stand.(birds attacked gmas and moms platter of fries!! mean birds!:madmad )
* O Canada! is closed...no sign saying this.
Now we have to make a run for it, cause it's getting ready to storm bad. France, the show isn't for another 45 minutes, so we run/walk all the way to USA since i knew we could watch the show and sneak over and eat while the storm was going on. We still have 30 minutes until the show, but its a nice dry safe place to stay. My ds has a panic attack, very scared to be here during the storm..wants to ride the boat and bus to get back to resort. We finally calm him down enough to walk over and eat (he doesn't eat) while the storm calms down.

We stop so my ds can play the drums. We ride the boat ride in Mexico. Gma is tired now, and ds is too. So we leave around 230pm, it's still raining, and Pal MIckey is still telling us things. OH, we did go into Ice Cool Station, and tried some drinks...made mom try Beverly...she didnt like it :bandit

We took a nap and woke up around 530pm. Had dinner at Sports food court (yuck...foot long hot dog w/cheese is gross!)

We head to MK to get a good spot for Spectromagic Parade. We had to wait 25-30 minutes for the bus! (Bus system was pretty bad most of the trip.) We head to Main Street Station and get the last table and chairs there that over look Main Street. (It's 630 by now) Mom and gma hold the seats, while ds and i ride TTA 2 times. We head back to our seat and snack on popcorn and evenutally a Mickey Bar. We had the perfect view until this mother shoved her 2 kids right in front/beside of my ds. They were climbing on the rails and just ruined our view from where the parade was coming from. :devil :devil I had to keep asking them to get off the rails so everone else could see. We let another little boy...whose mother didn't push him up front, in w/us next to my ds so he could see...but where those girls were, ruined our perfect view. Oh well! We still saw it and it was beautiful! My ds enjoyed it and I got some pictures of it.

We leave right after the parade (another long wait at bus) and just catch the fireworks as the bus was pulling out. By 11pm, showers were done, and we were tucked in bed.

Highlights: 1st experience park hopping. 1st time seeing spectro up high from main street. Got to take a nap during the day.

Low points: DS's panic attack. We were rushed at Epcot because of the storm.

Weather: HOt in the am, storm at 1130am and still drizzling around 230pm. At specto...hot and cloudy.

Mickey wakes us up at 730am. Everyone is tired, but thankfully there wasn't much noise during the night. We get to the bus by 840am. and to the MK by 905am. We finally catch the horse drawn trolly (something ds has always wanted to do!) We were on the first ride of the day, and the barber shop singers rode w/us and sang us songs!! Pal Mickey told us that Buzz was a short wait, but ds wants to go on Dumbo. It says 10 min wait for Dumbo, but is was more like 15. (not bad, considering it's usually at least 45 min wait when we go on it. ) After Dumbo, we go on Snow White, walked right on. We get fast pass for Peter Pan(its already a 25 min wait), and go on Small World. Then head to Haunted Mansion. Bad choice. My ds was scared to death...and of course it made him upset/sick. We walked onto Peter Pan w/fast pass...enjoyed this ride.

We headed to TTA and rode it twice (w/bathroom breaks in between rides...he thought he was going to be sick, but didnt.) We had a fast pass for Buzz...so we head there...as soon as we get inside(its a short line) he starts getting sick (go figure after 4 trips to bathroom...he thows up in line at Buzz!!) If you were there, and saw a women freaking out yelling "Out of the way...he's throwing up" as we were running out of the line...that was me:bandit The poor teenager running fast pass...i was yelling and he was looking stunned..he finally opend the trash can for DS. We handed our Fast Passes to a family , they were stunned but thankful, and we head back "home" to resort. Once ds is cooled off and in the cool room, he starts to feel better.

We made lunch in room, mousekeeping didn't take money today, but did make up room. We rest and watch TV for the afternoon. We sleep for 3 hours.

Mom and gma now realize why PS for meals are a good things for a long visit. We are tired of eating out now, and want a good healthy meal.

My ds (opps...i've been putting BP that's my sons initals:dazed ) if feeling better now, and we head back to MK. We caught part of the celebration at the castle and head to Adventure Land. We get citrus swirls (yummy!!) and ride Allidan. We used our walkie talkies some today...but every time I tried to change chanels and subchannels, someone was using it...we just waited for them to finish and then talked.

After alladin, we head to Tiki room. We didn't like the changes to this at all. Too loud! Then we go to Country Bear...this was nice! We head over to the Train at Frontieland (4 minute wait) and road to Toon Town! My DS wants to go in MIckey's House, so we do..but he dosen't want to get picture w/Mickey today. He says he will on his bday.

We eat at Cosmic Rays (chicken) and have no lines or wait at 7pm. We rode TTA times, then off to ride Buzz (5 minute wait). It did stop while we were going through (ds got a little upset about this, and didnt' go back on again during our trip "incase is stops again") But he did get a lot of points!344,440!!!! He is still proud about this. It's 8pm now and the park is closing down for E ride night. We head for bus (15 minute wait) and go crash in our room for the night. DS opens another present tonight...more Disney PJ's.

Highlights: 1st time the wait is so short for Dumbo. 3 hour nap!! (it is vacation after all ;) ). Short waits all day!

Low points: DS got a rash and was sore on our way out. No shopping done yet!!(we are waiting for Down Town Disney) DS throws up in line for Buzz.

Weather: Hot and Sunny....no rain today at all.

Pal Mickey....Pal Mickey went off on the Haunted Mansion ride, talking about the piano planing by itself. Also while we were on the TTA he talked about Buzz and Alien. These were the only rides he talked on.

Mickey wakes us up again at 730am. We're going to drive to Blizzard Beach today (its right down the road from us) so we can bring our cooler w/our lunch and drinks in it. (By the way....you can't get any discouts such as AP discount tickets at the front desk at the resorts.... we wanted to get an AP discount for our BB tickets.)

We got there at 940am (opens at 10am). Tons of people already in line ahead of us. We get in a few minutes early. We find a nice area kinda near the pool,its like our own dock over looking the "lazy river" w/our own table and lounge chairs too. Very shady here. We were so gald we brought our cooler with us!! Very handy not having to wait in lines.

We did the
*wave pool
*lazy river
*ds played in kids area (not tykes peak..he's too big)
*ate lunch, rested
*back on lazy river
*pool
*we all go on Family raft ride!! Even my 81 yr old gma!! I was worried about her on it, but she liked it fine, except getting out of the float! Mom lost her hat on the ride, but we found it a few minutes later.
*ds played some more

We left at 330pm to relax before we go shopping at Down Town Disney. (It's supposed to be severe storms this evening)

We go to DD around 430pm. Shop for scrapbooking and other things in World of Disney (using DC discount). The walkie talkies were great here!! We could go our own way, and not lose each other!!! We're hungry by now and need some "real food". We drive off propery and found Golden Coral. We were so happy to have a big salad there!! The storm hit as we were heading back to resort...WOW it was bad. We get back..had to use ponchos to get to room it was raining so hard.

Ds opens another present...more pjs!! Time for Bedtime stories, and sleep!!

Highlights: Today was grandmas favorite day! It was very relaxing for her. I finally got to spend some disney dollars!!

Bad parts: I got a bad sunburn ( i never really burn..but I did today! ouch!! ) headach, storms.

Weather: hot hot hot...storms in evening.

No pictures today! I wish i would have brought my camera in to Blizzard Beach! We had a nice place, away from everyone...so it wouldn't have got wet or sandy:cry: I did buy one picture of my ds that they took of him.

Great report GoofyGal! I ate at the Trails End for Breakfast about 3 years ago, I loved it! lol. The Lazy River is my moms favorite "ride" at all the water parks! lol Gotta love the pics too! It must of melted your heart to hear your DS say that!

Wow! Love the way you posted your pictures, and they are really great! Sounds like everyone is having a great time.

Sorry he got sick....that stinks! This past trip was the FIRST time that one of our kids didn't get sick right before or during our trip.....well, let me take that back, my hubby (my oldest kid!!!) broke his arm and had poisen ivy on the trip.....

Can't wait to read the rest!!

Great photos! That is a good idea to just use one of the many digital photo print services to show off all your trip photos. I have my photos uploaded to one, but I didn't think to actually send people to them. I just made prints. :) I guess I missed one of the key features of that kind of service. Nice job!

Great trip report!!!!!!!!!!!! Gotta make those PS's even if you pas on them. It's nice to know you have a nicec place cool place to sit down and eat after a long hot day!:)

Sorry to hear that DS got sick!:cry: My oldest got sick one night in the room when we went in 2001. Thank goodness it was just a combination of heat and to many sweets and he fine the next morning!:)

Great trip report and I loved the pictures. Your DS is such a cutie he reminds me of my ds (except for the red hair). He just loves disney too. He will be celebrating his birthday at disney. I like how you planned the welcome basket very cool. Can't wait to hear the rest of your report.

Heather! Sounds like you had a great time. You are so lucky you got to go with your Mom and Grandmother.
I love your DS presents..more Disney Pj's! You can never have too many of them. That made me giggle.
