Re: A Very Merry Trip Report...in pictures!

Oh cool, Mickey's Christmas Party. My parents and I were supposed to go to it, but my dad got sick during vacation. My mom and I couldn't enjoy the party without him so we didn't go. Luckily, we were able to get refunded on a gift card.

A few more Wishes pictures...

After that, we had seen the parade and Wishes, our 2 must-do's, so it was all about hitting the rides! We started weaving our way through the crowd back towards Frontierland for another Thunder Mountain ride... and we found ourselves stuck in a wall of people as we tried to cross the bridge into Liberty Square. Literally, no one was moving, and people just kept piling up behind us, so there was no way to back out of it and choose a different route. There was not a lot of respect for personal space, or even respect for keeping groups together, for that matter. If an inch of space opened up, someone immediately slid into it, regardless of if you were in their way or not. The four of us held onto each other's sleeves, and we still got separated. We ended up shouting directions over people's heads for where to meet up once we got out of this mess. It was a warm night, and it was literally a mass of people, so it was hot and claustrophobic and no fun for anyone.

Fiiiinally, it started to break up a little, and we managed to get to the end of the bridge. And I just have to mention that right where the bridge starts to widen, which would have allowed people to flow out easier, a woman was standing with her big stroller pulled right out into the wide part. Not pushed up against the side, so that people could get around her. Right IN THE MIDDLE, so that everyone had to dodge her stroller and continue to filter through a tiny space. And she's just standing there glaring at people for tripping over her stroller, when there is five feet of extra space behind her. Come on. Get out of your "the world revolves around me" mindset and BACK YOUR STROLLER UP.

Ugh.

That was our only issue with someone all night, and for how crowded it was, I'd say that's pretty good. We hit ride after ride for the rest of the party - Teacups, Barnstormer (we barely fit in the seats), Space Mountain, TTA, etc. etc. etc.! We started getting tired around 11:00, so we wrapped it up and started heading back to Main Street.

I have a few more pictures from Day 1, mostly of Main Street all decorated, but I need to go buy books for classes before the bookstore closes, so I'll have to continue later today. Hope you've enjoyed it so far!

Trying to get creative with my photography..
I realized when I went back through my pictures from the trip that I really have a thing for those clocks on Main Street. Like, REALLY have a thing for them..... I ended up with about 30 pictures of Main Street, and half of them had a clock in it.

The Emporium looked very pretty in its holiday attire.

Me and Baloo, taking one last picture for the night and trying to get the Contemporary's Christmas decorations in the background. It didn't quite work out as planned, but you can kind of see a fuzzy Christmas-tree-like shape there behind us...

We had a surprisingly short wait for a bus to Pop Century, where we dragged ourselves half-asleep back to our rooms. Us twenty-somethings are getting too old for these late-night parties...

End of Day 1!
Coming up on Day 2: Epcot (including the rosemary Christmas tree in Living With The Land and lunch at San Angel Inn) and Hollywood Studios (including the Osborne Lights and fun outside the Great Movie Ride)!

Stay tuned.

Great pictures!!! You've got some awesome castle/Wishes shots!
I like the pics of you and Baloo, too. You look like you're having so much fun together.

BTW, I love the toy soldiers in the parade.

Re: A Very Merry Trip Report...in pictures!

Thanks for all the comments! It's great to be able to share my pictures with people who actually want to see them... my family is sick of seeing all my Disney pictures.

Day 2 - Wednesday, Dec. 17

We got up early-ish and headed for Epcot around 9:30am. But before we left our room, I did a little window decorating...

The boys won this cute little monkey in the hotel's arcade while they were waiting for our room to be ready. They called it the "30 dollar monkey".. because they were there for quite a while, and this is all they came away with...

I felt bad leaving Thirty Dollar Monkey all alone, so I introduced him to the towel animals already chillin' in the window. I think he enjoyed the company.

Aaaaanyways... we were finally off to Epcot. And the boys gave me a great surprise - they announced that we had lunch reservations at the restaurant in Mexico! I've always wanted to eat there!!! Do I have great friends or what??

But we had some time before our lunch ressies came up, so we worked the fastpass system and got in some quick rides on Test Track, Soarin, and Living With The Land. I have been fascinated with LWTL ever since I was little, and I still LOVE going on this ride. I can't explain why... maybe it's the whole sailing through an indoor garden thing... I don't know. But it's on my must-do list every trip!
