neen626 ~ Day 2 ~ The Magic Kingdom!!

Day 2 ~ Magic Kingdom Day!!

We got up very early (6:30am) we were going to go to MGM, for early entry, but since we had to activate our Play 4 passes, we decided to just go to MK. Me, DH and 2 DS left our room about 8:30am, and walked to the bus stop out by Ranchos 6A (did I mention how awesome this location was:whistle: ) We waited for maybe 5 minutes and the bus pulled up. There were not many of us on the bus, and we only made 2 other stops in CSR. The ride to MK was very nice, and before you know it we were there :)

We went to Guest Services, and our CM was so nice!! I had misplaced one of our vouchers so we had to use the receipts they give you at the Disney Store. The CM was so nice about it.
He gave us our tickets and sent us on our way. As we got there the character caravan for the MK opening was just happening. We got into the park very quickly, and looked for the BarberShop so we could get the baby's hair cut. Unfortuneatly, it was packed when we got there. :( While we were on line for the Barber Shop, lots of characters walked by so they would wave at us which was very cool :)
We made our way up Main Street, Oh my gosh, I just love Main Street, and the view of Cinderella's Castle as you walk up. We took pics, and then stopped at the statue of Walt & Mickey and had a CM take a pic of the 4 of us. (I will post as soon as we get it developed) Went over to Tomorrowland, BuzzLightYear was signing autographs and taking pics, so we stood in a very short line and did pics with him. Then we walked right on to the Buzz Lightyear ride. DH rode with the baby and I rode with DS EJ. The baby loved it...and I got the high score!!!! 49750!!! DH had 12750 and DS had 13500!! After Buzz we went over to COP, but they said it was closed and would be opening the next day :( just our luck!! TimeKeeper was also closed, but it said only seasonally Dh took both boys onto the Tomorrowland Speedway and the baby loved that also!! We then caught up with my friend and her family. We decided that this trip we would take our time, fastpass some things, and not stress. So we walked thru some stores, and then rode the TeaCups. Again my crazy baby loved it:) He cracks me up!! We saw Alice and the Mad Hatter, and also TweedleDee & TweedleDum (pics & autos)then walked over to the Character Showcase (Where 20000 Leagues used to be) and the villians were there :nervous
It was fun. Cruella DeVille, The Queen of Hearts, The Big Bad Wolf and someone else....Oh, Sheriff from Robin Hood. The kids all loved it, and I think DH liked Cruella DeVille. After that we walked over to SnowWhite, and I am surprised, but Cade did great on that also. Was not scared at all. So far on everything we did not encounter a line longer than 15 minutes. It was very overcast and looked like it could rain, but there was a slight breeze, and humidity was bearable. Even so we had plenty of water. (Forgot to mention: They did check bags when we walked in the park, and they really were very nice about it, we had 4 bags with us, diaper bag, Snack bag, mini cooler bag and camera bag and they did not say a word about the food or water we had with us).

After SnowWhite, it was about 11am and we decided to feed the kids. First we grabbed FastPasses for PeterPan then we ate at Pinocchio's which is right next to Small World. There are seats where you can look out and watch the Small World boats take off. The food was good. Hotdog for the baby, DH had a burger, DS and I had turkey sandwiches. They were awesome!! We all had drinks and lunch was about $30. We sat for a while, and I took the baby to the restroom to change him (side note ~ this restroom had one stall that had a babyseat attached to the inside of the door, so if mom had to potty you just strapped baby in and could do what you needed to do. I really found this very convenient, since it is not easy to go to the restroom with a 17month old who wants to explore. This was the only restroom I saw it in) When I came out of the restroom, it was a total downpour! People started pouring into Pinocchios. We stayed for a few more minutes put on our rain ponchos and stroller coverups and made our way outside. My friends DH took their 2 little ones and my older one back to the room for naps (my older son explored the CSR), so me, her, my DH, Her DD, and my little DS rode Small World. The wait for SW said 20minutes but it was more like 10. Cade fell asleep and pretty much slept for the next 2 hours :D . My friend, her DD and I fast passed Peter Pan. My DH decided to sit where it wasn't raining with the stroller and baby and just people watch. So we had 3 FastPasses for Peter Pan left, I walked up to end of the line, and handed our 3 extras to a family who was so happy to get them. The dad looked at me and said "really?!?! When can we do this?" I told them the FP was for between 1:20 - 2:20, and it was 1:20 right now. Needless to say they were happy, and it was my good deed for the day :) After PP we the rain slowed down, we got Mickey Bars (YUM  ) My friends DD had gotten a button at City Hall that said "Today is my Birthday", and the CM at the icecream cart gave her her MickeyBar for free!! We thought that was so cool!!

After MickeyBars we ran into Minnie Mouse outside of the castle along with Pluto and Goofy. We then walked over to SpaceMountain, DH, My friend and her DD fastpassed that, then they went on AlienEncounter. We then decided to walk over to ride Haunted Mansion. Cade woke up, and liked the HM. but when the screaming things popped up, he jumped...it was very funny After HM, it was raining, we took our time and went over to SpaceMountain, they rode I waited  We FP'd for SM again, and then shopped. We stopped at Cosmic Rays for a snack. (DH loves the minicorndogs kids meal ;) ) then caught up with my friends DH and the rest of the kids. We walked around, and went to ToonTown, Kids rode Mickey's Barnstormer, and played, We toured Minnie's house, shopped some more. We tried to do the characters, but the lines were 30-40 minutes long, and we had FP for SM and wanted to eat and get seats for SpectroMagic. So we let the kids play on the playground, then decided to eat dinner. We thought we would eat at El Pirato, and when we got there it was closed for renovations. Total bummer we were looking forward to something different. POC was across the way, and the wait was 5 MINUTES!!! We got right on and were very excited about it!! After Pirates, the FPers went on Space Mountain, and the rest of us went to Pecos Bills for Dinner.
By the time the SpaceMountain riders got back, we saw people staking out their places for the parade, we decided to take our food out there and eat. Some of us opted for Turkey Legs (HMM were they good, and yes they really do taste like baked ham!!)
We sat there on the ground behind the rope, eating and relaxing, letting the little ones play and before you knew it was time for the parade to start!!

SpectroMagic was very good!! Some characters even yelled out Happy Birthday to my friend's DD!! After SpectroMagic, we went to Aladins Flying carpets, and rode that. We then decided to head to MainStreet for the FireWorks. I do have to say people were really nice. We saw lots of Pal Mickeys and one couple we were talking to told us you could rent them for $8 per day on MainStreet. (There is a $50 refundable deposit) I thought that would be a good way to try it out and see if you like it before you purchase it. Had we known that when we first got there we would have tried that.

We watched the fireworks, although since it had been so rainy and cloudy all day, the fireworks were not very visable and the smoke just hung low in the air. After FireWorks, we stopped at the BabyCenter and did quick diaper changes. I have to say this is a really nice center. It is too bad they are not scattered around the park more. We then made our crowded way up MainStreet. We decided to stop and buy MouseEars for the little ones with their names on them. By the time they were done, mostly everyone was out. As we walked to where the busses are we noticed literally tons of people for the AllStars busses and were thankful we were not in that line, as our lines looked short. Well until you got to the Coronado Line!!! maybe a dozen or so people for all the other resorts on the bus lines on our side, except for the Coronado ~ we had almost as many as the AllStars!! And our busses seemed to pull up so slowly (although that maybe because we were tired!!) By now it is 11pm, and all the babies are cranky, we are carrying our bags, and have folded up our strollers, the bus pulls up, we decide we do not want to stand and balance folded strollers while carrying 23-28 lbs of baby plus 15 lbs backpacks so we are in the front of the line and tell the bus driver we will wait for the next bus, and tell the people behind us to go ahead of us. They are very greatful. So there we are standing there tired, legs heavy, babies heavy and wanting to be held at the front of the line...did I mention we are at the Front of the Line!!! and this lady comes out of no where, with her friends and older kids and stands in front of us!!! Did I mention again that we were in the front of the line?????? I hand DH the baby, grab the stroller as the bus is pulling up and put it right in front of her, and said ever so sweetly (which really took alot at this time of night after being at MK for 13 hrs) "I'm sorry did you not notice we were standing right HERE and we are trying to load babies and strollers!!" The look on my face must have scared her, because she apologized and told her kids to move to the back door. We finally got back to Ranchos 6A (did I mention I love this place  ) and went to our rooms, showered and hit the hay

This really was a nice day as it was very relaxing and my little one Cade only had 2 or 3 meltdowns the entire day (when he was tired)

We really liked taking the bus as opposed to driving. CSR bus stops are covered, and we did not have wait long. Even at night the wait between busses was maybe 2-5 minutes. My advice is if you are going to take the bus back to your hotel at night, be one of the last ones out of the park and don't mind waiting. And if some lady jumps in front of you...be strong

Anyway....I hope you enjoyed Day 2.
Tomorrow I will do Day 3 (The departure  )

Great report so far, nina!

Its sounds like despite the rain, you accomplished so much! And the kids had a great time, too!

I have never been in one of the baby centers, I need to check this place out next time!

Can't wait for day 3!:)

Heather, We got the Mickey Ears on Main Street, and the name was done for free. As you are facing towards the castle at the very beginning of Main it is over to the right. There also is a place next to Snow White, I think that does them there also for free.
Hope that helps :)

Sounds like a wonderful time (Except for the line jumper at the end of the day!). We stayed at Ranchers last July and we loved it. The only downside, IMHO, was the distacne from the rooms to the Pepper Market. Usually after a long day I like to get some snacks and juice for the DS's for the morning so they have something to hold them over till breakfast. The walk was pretty bad late at night after being in the parks all day. Espceially after carrying one of the DS's to the room! I guess were spolied and lucky from our first two trips. When we stayed CBR the walk was short to the food court. When we stayed at WL we were on the 1st floor and the food places were right around the corner!:laugh

You know, the funny thing about the line jumper at the bus line was about 15 minutes previous we had to change the baby's diaper (you wouldn't have wanted to ride the bus with us if we hadn't:dazed ) and we were stopped and telling the people behind us to go around us, and they were so nice saying no we will wait, it's not fair...and then these other people just jumped right in front of us later on...

Oh Anne, I had to say something, I am totally not the type to just let it happen. I have a BIG MOUTH  LOL
