Day 3 ~ The Departure

Even though this is the day we are leaving we are all very excited as this is the day for our character breakfast at Cape May Cafe.
We got up early again 7 am. Showered got dressed, got the kids ready and packed up the room. Called to the front desk to find out if we needed to come to the lobby to check out and they said no, we could leave from our room since we had no extra charges.
DH packed up the car, I did a last minute sweep of the room and by 9:30am our family and my friends family were ready to head over to the Beach Club.

Of course again it is raining:( but not too heavy just sort of drizzling. We get to the Beach Club, and it is so very pretty! Again another place witha beautiful lobby! We check in for our PS and we have to wait about 15-20 minutes. Minnie Mouse was in an area right by the hostess/check in area of Cape May. She was great, we got pictures with the kids and they just really had a great time playing with her, Minnie even got on the ground and played with my friends 10 month old :)

Around that time we got seated. The buffet was wonderful, there were so many great things on it. The Mickey Waffles were by far my favorite!! I really enjoyed this breakfast buffet, and it lived up to all the expectations :) Our server was great and she made sure that all our glasses were full. The character interaction was also great. Goofy, Chip and Dale came over to our table numerous times to play with the kids, the babies and also to be cool with my 15 year old He even enjoyed it

My friend told our server that we were celebrating her DD b-day (6/22), my son's b-day (6/19) and my b-day (6/26) so all of a sudden all the characters are around us, and 3 mini chocolate mousse cakes are in front of each of us and the whole restaurant is singing us Happy Birthday!! It was truely a magical fun time, and of course my friend is the best for doing this :D
At this point we finished stuffing ourselves on the buffet and again everything was just fantastic. The fruit, eggs, waffles, muffins, coffee cakes, danish, potato hash brown triangles were outof this world!! We had our cakes packed up, the DH's went to the cars to get them, and me and my friend went and looked at the pool ~ It was a really cool pool very big, and very nice.

We headed to Downtown Disney, and went into the Virgin Store for CD's & Headphones for the 15 yro, and also to the Candy Cauldron. At this point it was really raining hard, so DH and I decided it was time to head back to home. I was a little disappointed with this as I really wanted to go over to the Market Place side of DTD, but the rain at this point was too much. My friend and her family, stayed as they were staying an extra night at CSR. We said our goodbyes got in our car and headed west on I-4.

So now we are home, and I am planning another WDW vacation.
We really had a great time. Our hotel was fantastic I was totally impressed. Our park day, though rainy was lots of fun :) and our character breakfast at Cape May was outstanding.

Oh wow...what a wonderful time you had! How great was your friend for doing that?? It sounds like you guys got some great interaction at breakfast!!Sorry to hear about the rain!!! It sounds like everyone was able to enjoy your trip, though, which is a wonderful thing!!!


So...when is you next trip planned for?? Did you pick a date yet?? hahaha!!

I'm really glad you enjoyed the Cape May character buffet!
It was great to read about it, I can't recall ever seeing a description or post about it!! Sounds great!!

I think having the character breakfast right before you leave is a wonderful idea. You can take your time and not have to worry about getting to a park. It also gave the kids somethig special to think about on the trip home.
