Day 7 -MGM & MK
Had planned for this day to be a day to relax by the pools and visit other resorts, however, we decided we needed the days in the park to try and get everything done since I was going slow itha bad leg and 3 yr old DS could only do 3 1/2 - 4 hours in the mornings before taking a break.
Got up at 8:00 (woo hoo got to sleep in) with the Mickey wake up call. Caught quick breakfast at....yep you guessed it Captain Cooks. Caught the bus about 9:00 and got to MGM at 9:15. Wide took 2 DSs to get in line for Playhouse Disney while I went and got FPs for Little Mermaid for them. Then I headed to WWTBAM and got a FP for myself. My DW knew I really wanted to go to it since I am a big fan of the show on TV and had qualified 4 times and had got to the final stage, but never got the call back for the trip to NY. Knew I had sometime so went into the exhibit about Walt Disney. Had some really interesting things, such as the desk where he drew the first Mickey and models of some of the other parks. Did not get to see the movie though becuase was getting close to my FP return time. Went to WWTBAM and enjoyed the show immensely. First person made it to 64,000, 2nd person missed first question ( he was a student at Ohio Univ and missed a question about what runs a computer application, he chose hardware. He kicked himself all the way back to his seat.) the third person was an 11 yr old girl who made it to 8, 000. I was 4th on the board when time ran out. But still had a good time. Ran to the animation tour and met my Dw and DSs who had just got out of Little Mermaid. Got in line to see Lilo and Stitch and got pictures and autographs. DW want and got FP for IJ. Then we when in animation tour. Our 6yr old loves to draw and thoroughly enjoyed the tour, especially getting to meet an animator. We saw severaol drawings and models from the new movie "Brother Bear" which was made at the Disney Studios in Orlando. Had FP for IJ but 3 yr old was about to change into a villian:devil . so we caught the bus did lunch back at the Poly. I took 6yr old to CR to play in the big game room while DW rested with 3 yr old. On the way got to ride up front with the driver on the monorail. DS got co pilot license and it made his day. I was just about as excited since I had nevr done this before. Went back to room and all of us went swimming. Got ready and went to Ohanas for 6:00 PS. DSs loved the coconut races. Food was good and DW loved the pineapple and Carmel sauce. Also bought DSs the bucket of ice that was like a snow cone made in a sand bucket. Caught the monorail to the MK and it was raining so had to buy Ponchos since we had left ours in the room. Went through the crowds waiting for SM Parade (which eventually was canceled, ran into a friend and she waited 2 hours holding a spot for her family)and headed for Buzz Light Year. Line at Buzz was long and no FP left so rode TTA. 3yr old loved it. Went to Fantasy Land and rode Carousel with no wait and Small World with no wait. DSs tried to pull the sword out of the stone, made for a great picture. Went into toon town and DW and sons rode Barnstomer 4 times with no wait. I rested since leg was really hurting. Planned on riding train to front of park to leave, but missed last run and had to walk it. We had to go very slow thanks to me. Made it out of park and I talked family into taking the boat back to Poly. FITS started as we pulled away from the dock at MK. What a magical trip as we sat in the back of the boat and watched the fireworks as we made our way back to the resort. Made it to room and dropped. ![]()

Would love to see the picture of DS with the sword in the stone. Can you send it to us? I remember the days of going with little ones...they can get cranky.

OMG WVWISEGUY, we were in that same Millionaire show! I couldn't believe it when that guy answered the first question wrong! :laugh Do you remember the cameras showing 2 persons with green Mike Wasowski hats on? If so, that was my daughter and her boyfriend!
And can you believe it, we were over in the MK waiting for Spectromagic too! After it was cancelled, we waited for the fireworks, saw that Tink did not get to fly and left as they frieworks continued. That was a miserable night with all the rain, wasn't it? |
