Re: brumcg's 2009 Trip Report (3/20 - 3/28)
From the 4th floor of the Lodge, during the tour Stan explained what the symbols meant. Fascinating. Also, behind us is the "Sun Terrace" that overlooks the back of the resort. Stan told us that this is where they do weddings at WL. I had no idea. He said most of the weddings done at WL were mostly performed for Asian couples... particularly Japanese. It's also a great place to watch the Electric Water Parade.

One of the 2 huge totem poles from inside the WL lobby. During the tour, Stan told us that both were carved in less than 6 months by one artist and three assistants. Amazing.

Re: brumcg's 2009 Trip Report (3/20 - 3/28)
Kitchen Sink: I was a newbie once, right?
I went to WDW for the first time in 1994, and I made my fair share of mistakes. My biggest goof was thinking that the Pleasure Island CLUBS were open during the day without needing a ticket (it was the SHOPS... d'oh). Still, I'm amazed by some folks we run into (not literally in this case) on our trips. On this trip, we have three stories. A woman in Epcot's World Showcase leading around a group of 10-11 year olds (all wearing the same colored shirts) with the map open. I guess I gave her my "helpful" look, so she asked me where the rollercoasters were in Epcot. Needless to say, they were a bit disappointed with my answer... and didn't seem to be interested in my Test Track, Mission: Space, Soarin' suggestions. After eating at Chef Mickey's, we hit the Contemporary bus stop to head to the Studios. After a bit, the family sitting next to us asked if we had seen a Magic Kingdom bus. Needless to say, they were delighted to learn about the monorail; yes, they were staying at the Contemporary. Finally, there was the family that we met on the WL boat dock who were delighted to hear that the WL had a bus stop with service to Epcot, AK, Studios, etc... While they didn't say it, I'm pretty sure they were using the WL boats and going to other places to catch the busses. Bruce

Howdy Buzz... Yep, we rented a house in Corolla in the Outer Banks. It was nice... but it wasn't WDW.
![]() I do think that our year off did recharge our Magic "batteries." Hope it does the same for you! Bruce

Re: brumcg's 2009 Trip Report (3/20 - 3/28)
I am totally enjoying youyr TR! Thanks for taking the time to share with us. I especially enjoyed it because we were also there around the same time (3/26- 4/1)
I noticed A LOT more of the "just joining my party"/line jumping on this trip than I have on past trips. And I think Toy Story Mania was where we saw the worst of it. It was pretty maddening, I am glad you spoke to Guest Relations about it.
