We didn't stay for Illuminations because we hadn't even had a chance to get to the resorts gift shop, and I wanted to go over to Riverside and show her that also. We did get on Sorin, in which Mom said it was her second favorite ride (Mickey's Philharmagic is number one!). I haven't mentioned, but yes, we laughed pretty much all day. Everything seemed funny, and I think goofy came out in both of us.

The rest of the time was spent shopping. I still hadn't found anything that wasn't too cutesy for my two teenage boys. After some direction from a very nice CM, we went into a store that had vinylnations (I think that's what they are called). They had mystery boxes where you don't know which one of about 12 you would get, and the CM told me that once you open them and realize you have a duplicate, you can go into the stores, and trade, just like pin trading. Another wonderful, fun, marketing tool for Disney. And, by the way, they were a real hit with the boys.

We went on one final thing before heading out, It's a bugs life. We had skipped it the last couple of times we were there, so I'm glad we didn't skip it again. Too cute!!!

So, it was time to head back to the resort to catch Magical Express. I had timed it in the morning, with the morning rush to the parks. It had taken 40 minutes from the moment we got to the bus station, to waiting for the bus, to loading the scooter, to getting there. So, I gave us an hour and 10 minutes to get back to the resort. Glad I did, because it took forever for the bus to show, and we had the slowest bus driver EVER. We told him we were worried that we were going to miss our bus, didn't help with the speed, and of course, couldn't skip stopping at Blizzard Beach. Finally got back to the resort, with the Magical Express bus showing 5 minutes later. Don't want to end on a bad note, by any means, as we were giggling once the nervousness was gone that Murphy's Law, our perfect timing trip had come to an end.

Hoped everyone enjoyed my trip as much as I have. There were many other small things that happened in between all my stories. All I know is Mom kept saying, "Next time" and "Next year when we go again." You bet ya. I've started a new tradition that I'm looking forward to it!

I did forget to mention that when on the boat ride, you do pass the new tree houses. They were all lit up inside and got me very excited about looking into DVC again. I tried taking pictures for everyone to see, but the surroundings were too dark, so the pictures didn't turn out. I guess everyone reading will just have to take a trip to see!

Will continue day 2 later on today. Have to get ready for Talledega (Nascar race).

Oh I tried to get pictures of the tree houses too, but I had the same luck you did. They were so neat to see all lit up, though, weren't they?

Looks like you and your mom had a good trip, how special to be able to go to WDW with just your mom!

That was such a sweet TR. When I saw the picture of your mom with the minnie ears, I thought "fairy godmother" Give her a wand and she could work at disney !!! I hope you do get to do another trip.

You are so right!!! I never thought of it, but she could pass for Fairy Godmother.

I loved this TR!!! I have to say this... My DGF is dying of cancer and my DM is spending every single moment she can with him, the fact that you made time to do this with your mom warms my heart! I love that you seized the time you have with her. We never know when our time together will come to an end, so doing these types of things is awesome! What memories the two of you made on this trip!
