Re: The Good, The Bad, and Down Right Ugly TR
TOO CUTE!! I hope you didn't let the others bring down your entire trip. We've vacationed with my DH's parents so much that we all know how we get. When we need a break from each other, we head off in different directions & then meet back up later. That way everyone gets a break, gets to do what they want & no one's feelings get hurt! Mind you, it's taken us a few trips to work this out but now we all travel pretty well together! Hope it get better! How can you NOT love WDW?!?!

So glad you were only ten mins away from the airport. But shee , don't you love it how YOU are responsible for 7 thousand things and one little slip and it's ALL YOUR FAULT, you are messing up the trip.
Such a cutie pie. Good report, I'm going to make my lunch, I'll be back for the next update. No pressure though. ![]() |

Re: The Good, The Bad, and Down Right Ugly TR
Day 2
We had reservations for Chef Mickey’s at 8:25 am. We had never been there before, and it was going to be DD’s first character encounter. I realized she may be a little scared, but I thought no big deal, the characters know how to handle that. DN, DN’s DH, and DB decided not to go with us. (They didn’t tell me when I was making ADRs that they had a morning phobia. They also told me they were not picky eaters and would eat anything, but as you will see from the rest of my TR, that was certainly not the case. I just wish they would have been honest about it when I was making ADRs. But, I mainly made the ADRs for DH, DD, and I but made the ressies for 8 just in case others wanted to join.) Anyway, we arrived at CM’s a few minutes before, parked our stroller, and had our picture taken. We were soon seated and off to the buffet we went. I had a little bit of everything: biscuit and gravy, pancakes, breakfast pizza, fruit, and eggs. As a southern girl, I do enjoy some good gravy, and this gravy was really good! DD, DM, and I all liked the pancakes a lot too. As we were eating, Goofy was the first to stop by our table. Great, start DD out with the biggest, most intimidating character, haha. She wanted nothing to do with Goofy. She was scared to death. Goofy saw this and kind of waved and went on his merry little way. Next was Mickey. Mickey scared her a little, but not too bad. She gave him high fives and a kiss on the nose. So cute. Next, was Donald. DD LOVES Donald on tv, so she was familiar with him, but still, a little hesitant to interact with him. She waved at him, and that was about it. Donald left. Then Pluto came along. DD was still hesitant, but she waved, blew kisses, and that was that. Then, CM’s did their celebration thing, and everyone waved their napkins in the air. I gave DD one to wave around, and she did. Then our waitress brought DD a cupcake since she was wearing her birthday button (yeah we were celebrating early). She didn’t want to eat the cupcake. She ate the sprinkles off the plate, haha. The last character to come around (and we waited on her a while) was Minnie. DD’s eyes just lit up when she came over. She was not scared one bit. DF said he thinks she would have ran off with Minnie. It seemed like DD had already picked a favorite character. After breakfast, we hopped on a bus for Hollywood Studios. DM & DF were still with us, and they aren’t thrill seekers. So, immediately after getting into the park, we used their tickets to get FPs for RnR, and we used our tickets to get FPs for ToT. We wandered around the park for about 20 minutes, and headed back to use our FPs. DM & DF sat at a table and watched DD while DH and I rode ToT followed by RnR. After we got off RnR, the 5 of us went to the Beauty and the Beast show, which was about 5 minutes away from starting. DD loved this show. She adores Belle, so it was a bit hit with her. After the show was over, we had ADRs at Sci Fi Dine In. DH & I had eaten here before. Everyone liked it, but DD was getting antsy, so we left the park after lunch was done. On the way back from HS, DD fell asleep on the bus. DH & I were liking this. We laid her down once we got back in the room and she slept for 2-3 hours. We ended up waking her up, and headed back to HS around 4. We had planned to go to the Playhouse Disney show, but we were too late, so we just met up with DN, DN’s DH, and DB. All 8 of us just waited outside 50’s Prime Time Diner since we had ressies there around 5:30. This was our first time eating at 50’s PT. I kept looking around at the stuff on the walls. I recognized some of the things that my grandmother used to have, or things that my aunt still has, haha. As we were looking at the menu, guess who had a problem with everything on the menu. Yep, DN. Comments like “I wonder if the Meatloaf has onions in it. If is does, I won’t eat it. I wonder if they can leave off the vegetables on that? I like steak, but that comes with some spinach stuff. I won’t eat that.” And this went on and on. We tried to suggest things for her, but she shot everything down. DB is just about as picky, but as I said before, he voices his opinion a little less. DM is a picky eater, but NOWHERE close to what DN is. Sheesh. They finally come to a decision and we order our food. My dad won’t keep his elbows off the table, so he gets fussed at by our waitress. Before long, she comes out with a napkin that has been stapled in the shape of a dunce hat. It has “No elbows on the table :(” written on it. And she places it on DF’s head. I have never seen him turn so red. But he laughed it off and was a good sport about it. DB decided to pick on our waitress and asked if “mama” made any biscuits. She replied “No, Mama’s too busy to make bread,” and she left. A few minutes later, she brought back a plate of rolls, that the rest of them say were hard as a rock, haha. We told DB he better eat them, otherwise she might punish him. I think he had the hots for her though, because he didn’t seem to care, haha. After our entrée, out waitress checked out the veggies on our plates. She scooped up DN’s DH’s veggies and said “Here comes the train. Choo choo.” She tried to make him eat them, and he wouldn’t. Then it was DH’s turn. He ate them, he just didn’t have room for them if he wanted to try dessert. Then the waitress looked at my plate, she said I did a good job. Almost all of mine were gone (I have the spinach & potatoes with my steak. It was great!). Then she moved down to DM. She scooped up a big helping of collard greens on the fork, and though with much persistence at first, DM opened up and let her feed it to her. DM almost immediately spit it back in her napkin though, haha. Soon, the waitress bought out our desserts. DN’s DH looked puzzled by his dessert. She had brought him a bowl and what looked like whipped cream. He was supposed to get a tall glass with an ice cream sundae in it. He stirred his spoon around in his bowl and discovered that THERE WERE POTATOES AND SPINACH UNDERNEATH THE WHIPPED CREAM!!! We all died laughing. It was sooo funny. We were laughing so hard, the people around us wondered what was going on. A few minutes later, she brought him his real dessert. What a fun meal! After dinner, all 8 of us headed over to Toy Story Mania. None of us had ridden it before, and I really wanted to ride it. The wait was 85 or 115 minutes, something crazy like that. I said no thanks, and we pulled out a map to see what else we could do before time for Fantasmic. DN wanted to do the Backlot Tour (I was thinking they closed this down, but maybe I was imagining things). She suggested we all go do that. I said “No, I don’t really want to” and I told DH “I think it’s pretty boring.” DH said “but they do that earthquake thing on it. I say “Well I don’t think that’s good for Emma anyway.” So I think DN got mad at me because I didn’t want to do that. But, oh well. Everyone else went to do the tour. DM, DD, and myself headed to The Voyage of the Little Mermaid and walked right in to the preshow room. DD was upset because she saw Ariel’s picture outside (the sign to the ride) and thought we were in the wrong place. We kept telling her that Ariel was right behind those doors and that we would see her in a few minutes. Eventually, they opened up, and we got about a 3rd row seat, right in the middle. DD loved this show. I thought she might freak out at the HUGE Ursula puppet, but she shudders a split second, then was fine. She loved the bubbles in the show too. After that, it was time to meet up with everyone else for Fantasmic. DH called and said there was standing room only now, so we better get there and fast. We head over there and spend at least 5 minutes waiting on someone to tell us where to park our stroller in that chaos. Then we meet up with the rest of the group. They are getting the run around from the cast members about where to sit us. They are completely unfamiliar with the platinum plan and have no clue what to do with it. They run us back down to a guy at a green umbrella, who DH says they just talked to. DH tells the guy that they said you would know what to do. Then DN chimes in with a big attitude, saying about the same thing. I’m thinking, I know you’re upset, but getting an attitude and repeating yourself isn’t going to help. So the guy gets a manager over there and she escorts us to seats where the Fantasmic Dining Package people are sitting. Not the best seats in the world, but oh well. Before the show, DN and DN’s DH want a drink, but they don’t want to spend their money on one (mind you, DF & DM gave us all money to spend while at WDW). So DN’s DH runs off to find a shop that takes our dining plan card to use one of his snacks. DF feels bad that they want a drink but refuse to spend their money, so he goes over to the drink guy to buy drinks for everyone. DM & I talk about how that’s not right. You gave them money, now make them spend their own if they want something. DM says she agrees and that she’s gonna have a little chat with DF. Not long after DN’s DH comes back, the show starts. DD loved it. She was clapping like crazy when Mickey defeated the villains. She waved to all the characters at the end, and kept clapping after that. I intensely dislike the mob scene after a fireworks show. We tell the rest of the group to wait on us in a specific spot, while we go get the stroller (Note to anyone taking a stroller – I tied two yellow bandanas on our stroller handle. I cannot tell you the headache that saved us, especially that night. All we could see over the wall was the handle with the bandanas on it. IT’S A HUGE TIME SAVER!!!) So we come back out and the rest of the group is not where we told them to wait. We call them, no one answers. DH and I are snapping at each other, all because we cannot find them. I eventually run back to look for them, and find them. They said DN went off to look at the little souvenir stand, and I guess they just followed her. I was irritated because we just spent 10 minutes looking for them when one person could have at least waited where we asked them to. But, oh well, water under the bridge now. We all head back to our rooms. By this time, DH had called housekeeping to take back the bed rails and bring a pack and play (yes we should have done this option first, but in our defense, DD has NEVER slept in a pack and play). So I collapse the Pack and Play and take it two doors down to DM & DF’s room. It takes DF & I another 5 minutes to set this thing back up. It’s a pain! DM gives DD a bath, and we leave DD with them in there to sleep, because we’re going to MK with the rest of the group for EMH. Almost forgot to add this part. DH saw that we had a message waiting on our phone. He checked it and then told me what it said. He says "Oh itinerary planning called said they got us a reservation for Cinderella's Royal Table breakfast on Wednesday." I said "NO! YOU'RE JOKING!" He said he wasn't. I think I actually started jumping up and down. I wanted DD to get that meal so badly! So after that great news, DB, DN, DN’s DH, DH, and myself hop on the monorail to go to MK. We do Teacups first. I bet none of you thought teacups was a thrill ride. Well you have not ridden with my DH. He had to going so fast that I was pinned to the outside of the cup, more like Mission Space. DH said he heard other people saying “OMG look at how fast they’re going.” I was laughing so hard. Everyone else watching apparently thought I was screaming, haha. After that, we rode Pooh. When we exited Pooh, we saw all the characters come out. Goofy was skipping out toward Dumbo. Then we saw Chip & Dale. DN wanted her picture taken with them, so we ran like little kids over there to them. As they were standing in line to take pics with them, I heard a boy say “I see Mickey!” Naturally, I turned around to look. I looked around everywhere. I saw Goofy still over there by Dumbo, then I looked up and saw Mickey. Mickey and Minnie were riding Dumbo, one right behind the other! It was one of those unexpected magical moments for me. I don’t think I’ll ever forget that. After that, we did IASW, Peter Pan, Snow White, PhilarMagic, Buzz Lightyear, Haunted Mansion, BTMR, Splash Mountain (where I got soaked – DH & I were in the front). While coming off Splash Mountain, we saw a guy stumbling, with a small plastic pirate sword in his hand. We were all laughing and talking, so it didn’t click with us right away. DH said “That guy is drunk, carrying a ninja sword.” We all died laughing and did a double take. This “ninja”/pirate clearly had too much rum, and was heading into the exit of the ride. DH alerted a cast member and the cm went off in search of the guy. I said we should have stuck around to see what happened to the ninja pirate. We all got drinks or smoothies from a place in Liberty Square. They got DN’s order wrong, and gave her a Tinker Bell Twist smoothie, instead of an ice cream. DH asked if they were going to have to throw that away. The man behind the counter said “If you’re going to drink it, you can have it.” So DH got a free smoothie, another magical moment! Our night in MK was so much fun. We had so much fun that we were afraid a CM was going to stop us and ask how many cocktails we had, haha. Little did we know what was in store for us on day 3 & 4…. Pics from day 2 to follow shortly...

Re: The Good, The Bad, and Down Right Ugly TR
I don't think I would even eat at prime time cause I don't want to be yelled at. Other people getting in trouble, that's fine, but not me please.
What is the deal with the platinum plan? Do you have special seating or something? I haven't heard of too many people doing this plan so I don't know all the extras you get. |

Love the trip report so far. Your DD is a cutie! Sounds like you had a wonderful time despite some of the attitudes. :) Putting something on the stroller is definitely a headache saver!
