Re: Our first DVC trip!
I knew I'd forget to write about things!! I remember 2 (so far) that I'd forgotten about....
Both on Wednesday! We went to Welcome Home Wednesdays just because we were there and thought we'd swing by! Cute show with Miss Dee Vee See and we got a free hat, but I wouldn't leave a park or come from a resort (far away from BW) to attend it.... And we cancelled Sci-Fi and went to ESPN club since DH was dying to go there.... We shared a meal since I wasn't that hungry. Food was ok... I think that's it that I forgot about so far.... ![]() Now where was I....

Re: Our first DVC trip!
Enjoying your TR and pics so far. Your kiddos are too cute. Glad that you had a nice, relaxing, trip this time. You must enjoy walking. I did that walk from DHS to Epcot once, wow, it was far.
Can't wait for the rest.

Re: Our first DVC trip!
After DS woke up we packed up and went to off to MK. We didn't wait too long for a bus and we were there within 15 mins! I thought since we were farther away it would have taken long from SSR to MK but little did I know about the roads they took (which went past Fort Wilderness) to get to MK!
We walked right on Buzz and did Laugh Factory--and my DD's joke got chosen! (What did one wall say to the other? Meet you in the corner! cheezy but she thought it was a good one to tell) Then we did the Speedway, which was only a 10 min wait. ![]() We also did Snow White, another ride DD loves. And then we went and had some dinner at Pecos Bill's. Then Pirates was calling our name!!! ![]() We headed out of the park after Pirates and made our way back to SSR.

Re: Our first DVC trip!
Friday May 8
We once again were in no rush to get up. Once we did get going we walked to DtD to do some of our shopping before the weekend came. I refuse to go to DtD even at night because it's so crowded after the parks start closing that you can't even move! ![]() ![]() We got some breakfast sandwiches from Earl's (blah--the lunch/dinner onese are so much better) then we went to Pin Traders to pick up our resort pins and our 2009 pin. We collect pins, we don't trade them. The ones we get are sentimental to us. We started to collect ones from every resort that we've stayed at and we also get a dated one every year. This year we even picked up an extra one that was Cinco de Mayo (it's our anniversary date!). ![]() We went to World of Disney next and just took a look around to see if we came up with any ideas on what to get for my brother in law for taking care of our dog and cat. ![]() ![]() Then we stopped in the Lego store where DD and DH started to sword fight...LOL ![]() We walked over to West Side and went to Virgin Megastore, which still had ALOT of stuff left and not too good of clearance prices for going out of business the next week or so! I could have did better at our local Walmart after their discount! We caught the boat at Westside that took us back over to Marketplace and since we wanted to check out Old Key West (our DVC guide had said that they had a better DVC merchandise selection there), our boat driver, captain, or whatever told us we could just stay on! So up to OKW we went! ![]() ![]() Of course they had nothing I wanted and basically the same things everyone else had, and a small selection too...We were going to jump on a bus and go to a park for some lunch but I had forgotten the baby's food so we went back to the boat to SSR. We had lunch in the Artist's Palette. Which was excellent! And went back to our room to get the baby's food. We rested for a little while and then went back out to Epcot for our dinner at Biergarten. Here's a random picture that I took off the "hallway" going to our room... ![]()

Re: Our first DVC trip!
Since we got to Epcot too early to just go to dinner we went and did Spaceship Earth.
![]() ![]() DH did Test Track while I sat with the kids and then we stopped by Club Cool which was PACKED full of people....we were in and out of there fast and made our way back to Mexico to do the boat ride there. My DD was having fun playing with the Maracas and a CM came over and showed my DD a dance and then my DD got a Magical Moments certificate from her! And my DD told the CM "Gracias" and the CM loved that and said "De Nada".... LOL ![]() DD played the drums in "Africa" and we met Snow White in Germany before going to Biergarten. ![]() ![]() We checked in and waited a while for our buzzer thingie to go off. ![]() ![]() That empty table that is in the last picture is where we were seated at with another family from Newfoundland, Canada. I felt bad that the woman kept trying to strike up a conversation and my back was turned to her since I had to feed the baby. I think I must have been spoiled by my grandmother and great-grandmother's german cooking because I didn't think it was all that great. But I know alot of people love it here... just not our "cup of tea" I guess. After dinner we left Epcot and went back to SSR.

Re: Our first DVC trip!
When we got back DH decided he didn't want to go to Raglan Road and wanted to try Yak and Yeti so I cancelled our ADR at Raglan Road and made one for lunch at Yak and Yeti for Saturday!
Saturday May 9 We went out to AK today. We wanted to do the safari but once again it had a long line. So we fastpassed it and went to Everest. I rode by myself thru the Single rider line and DH, who if you haven't guessed by now doesn't do coasters, watched the kids. I rode with a man that had a clicker thing on and knew all the staff there. He (and his ticker thing) had said that he'd been on Everest over 600 times!!! WOW!! From Everest we went to Dinosaur so DH could ride while I watched the kids (and DS napped). Then it was back to Asia to Yak and Yeti for lunch. I had the Sweet and Sour chicken and DH had the duck. It wasn't too bad but not as good as I'd hoped it would be. We used our fastpasses after lunch for the Safari and then DD got to meet Lilo and Stich. Lilo even came over to DS in the stroller to say Hello, which I thought was great! ![]() ![]() And we went back to SSR! I took DD to the Springs pool to swim and she loved the kiddie slide! And I let DS sit and splash in the zero entry part of the pool. It was so crowded at the pool that there wasn't even a chair to put our towels or shoes on!! We didn't stay at the pool long and I took the kids back to our room to change. Then we walked to DTD before the nightly rush for some create your own goodies from Goofy's! Of course I should have taken pics of our treats but I forgot~ I had pretzels sticks dipped in Milk chocolate, rolled in m-n-m's, reeses, and one in butterfinger and they were all drizzled with white chocolate, they were so good, and we snacked on them a little at a time (thru monday when we checked out). Dh had a milk chocolate dipped oreo rolled in m-n-ms and drizzled with caramel. He said it was good too. After we got our fill of sweets we went into the Christmas Shop and got our yearly ornament. We jumped on the boat and went back up to Saratoga instead of walking (except the walking would have gotten us back to our room faster since we still had to walk back to the room after the boat) and went back to our room taking some pics on the way. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Re: Our first DVC trip!
Sunday May 10, Mother's Day!
![]() We got up this morning and went to HS. DD waiting for the bus: ![]() I sent DH with our tickets to get Fastpasses while DS and I shopped around the stores. By the time DS and I got up there to meet up with DD and DH they were just getting to the fastpass distribution machines!! The return time was 3:30 and it was just 10 am!! DH also used some of our fastpasses given to us from our DVC guide while he was at it! We didn't realize it until those fastpasses came out that let allow you to get a fastpass and ride right away without having to come back later! So onto TSM we went!! ![]() ![]() We hopped off and got another set of fastpasses from our DVC guide (he had given us 4 cards which would print out 3 fastpasses each!) and rode again! We got off that time and grabbed another set and went for lunch to Backlot Express... nothing great here but we didn't want to leave the park. DS was sleeping so we didn't get to feed him. After lunch we went back over to TSM and rode one more time and then went into the animation building so I could feed DS in the A/C. Once he was done we walked down to RNR and I was able to go on while DH watched the kids, Thank you single rider line! And I was in and out of there! We needed to wait a little while for our 3:30 return time fastpasses so we went and got a Frozen Lemonade from Min and Bills and sat and people watched for a while. Then it was Fastpass time, we used them then we left the park. We got back to SSR and took a rest, then got ready for our ADR at Turf Club.

Re: Our first DVC trip!
Our ADR was for 6 pm at Turf Club and we got there a little before and we're told we could be seated right away if we wanted to sit outside but since it was still so hot out we opted to wait for an inside seat. We overheard people without a ADR walking up and trying to get seat and being told there would be an hour and a 1/2 wait. WOW! We waiting about 20-25 mins past our ADR time and were seated.
I cannot say enough great things about this place. The food was EXCELLENT as was the staff! I had the Prime Rib which melted in your mouth and DH had the NY strip topped with crabmeat (yes and that was on the dining plan!) and we also paid out of pocket and got the Onion Rings for an Appetizer! Everything was so good! I had the Apple Pie for dessert which was sinful! The only bad thing was my DD's pizza which was gross. DH loves all kinds of pizza and he even said it was discusting... but it would NEVER sway us from going back here....One of our best meals of the trip!! After dinner we took the boat to DtD and finished our shopping at World of Disney picking up a shirt for my Brother in law and getting one for myself too ! (I had been eyeing up that monorail shirt for the past year!) plus we got a throw for $15 bucks and a collar with mickey on it for our dog! DH couldn't resist stopping to use more snack credits at Goofy's and he got chocolated covered rice krispie treats this time. One rolled in reese's and one rolled in mnm's. We had a bite or two when we got back to our room and we started to pack up our stuff.

Re: Our first DVC trip!
Monday May 11th --Our sad day (last day)
![]() We got up around 7ish, took showers and packed up the rest of our things. Housekeeping knocked at 9am!! They expect you out of there fast!! We rang for Bell Services around 10 and they took us and all our bags to check at the Airline check in. We also left our carry-ons with them so we could go to the park. We were done checking in our luggage and had our boarding passes in no time. We went into the Carriage house and checked out and went down to the springs stop to catch the bus to MK ![]() We originally had an ADR at noon at the Plaza but I called and cancelled it (as requested by DH--he said since it wasn't too much $ that it was a waste of a dining credit) and we re-made one for Liberty Tree at 1. When we are in MK we start over at Tommorrowland and work our way counter-clockwise, but today we started at Adventureland! We stopped for a Dole Whip Float for DD and I (to use up our last snack credits) and then went on to Pirates! We had a short wait (maybe 10 mins) and I was able to snap some pics! ![]() Haunted Mansion had a 20 min wait which we didn't feel like waiting for so we grabbed Fastpasses for Peter Pan and we went onto IASW. Then down into Toontown we went. We had every intention of meeting Mickey, even going thru his house and getting out to the line in his tent, or whatever that is back there but time got the best of us and it was out of line and over to Liberty Tree for lunch. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
