Day 2.. May 16th.. MK Day

So today was my actual birthday and i had chosen MK as our park for the day.

We had an 8:10AM reservation at Crystal Palace for breakfast with Pooh and Friends. We arrived at MK at about 7:45 and i went to the Guest Relations window to pick up my Birthday Fun Card since we already had park tickets this is what i chose.

After getting my fun card we headed into the park to a nearly empty Main Street.





We arrived at Crystal Palace and checked in and about 5 minutes later they called our name. We were taken inside and lead to our table.



Our table was decorated for my birthday..


We got our drinks ordered and headed to the buffet. Just as soon as we got back to the table this guy came by..



And then this guy... he was pretty gloomy...

Day 2, May 16th... continued..

Shortly after Eeyore along came Piglet...



And then came Tigger... He about made me fall over.

After breakfast we headed off to go to BTMRR. But the park wasn't open yet so we were stopped at a little pathway.

While waiting at the roped off area the Main Street Barber Shop Quartet came through and stopped to say hi to everyone waiting there. The lady behind we said oh come on aren't you going to sing for all of us. One of the guys saw my birthday button and said to the others oh look it's Brandon's birthday. So they sang Happy Birthday to me and one of them put their hat on my head...



It was really cool to have that Magical Moment.

They finally opened the rope and we took off with the swarm of people and got in line for BTMRR. It was less than a 5 minute wait and we were off. We ended up riding it 4 times in a row because the wait was that short.





We could have rode some more but my back was killing me so we moved on to other areas. we went over to get a fast pass for Splash Mountain. We had about 30 minutes so we didn't want to go to far away. We did some shopping in the pin store which started the collections for the trip. I bought some of the Vinylmation Pins and some hidden mickey pins in the colored bags, so you don't know what you are getting. I also did a couple of trades.

We then headed off to the Haunted Mansion. After the HM we headed back to Splash Mountain to use our fast passes. I was in the front row and my head got pretty wet.

I think we then headed over to Fantasy Land and we did the Pooh Ride, IASW, and Philharmagic.

Then we went to Tomorrowland. None of us were really that hungry for lunch after the big breakfast so we got some pretzels and a drink to hold us over.

In Tomorrowland we rode Buzz twice, and went to see Monster's Inc Comedy Club.

After that we headed towards main street to do some looking around and to get seats for the 3PM parade.

Day 2, May 16th continued..

The one in the green dress saw my birthday button and said "Oh is it your birthday?" I responded yes and she said "Oh how delightful for you to get to see me today"

After the parade we went headed to the Main Street train station and we boarded the train for two complete trips around the park. And then we decided to leave the park.

We had dinner reservations at the Wave in the Contemporary so we took the Monorail to around once full trip and then to the Contemporary. we looked around the Contemporary for a little while before dinner.

We then headed into the Wave...

I really liked the look of this restaurant. And the food was pretty darn good as well...

I ordered the Cinnamon-rubbed Grilled Pork Tenderloin - with Honey-roasted Root Vegetables and Apple Cider Sauce which actually changed, it is now marinated in the Cinnamon, not rubbed and it came with Fingerling Potatoes not the Root Vegetables. It was OUTSTANDING

Greg ordered the Grilled Beef Tenderloin - with oven- dried tomatoes, roasted fingerling potatoes, cabernet sauce and local greens I tasted some of his and it was OUTSTANDING as well.

Joey ordered the Braised Chicken Pot Pie - with peas, mushrooms and carrots topped with thyme pastry. His looked really good. I tasted the chicken in it and that was yummy. He really liked it.

And for dessert we ordered the following (we actually had 9 different desserts to try)
Creamy Indulgence - Cheesecake with Raspberry Coulis, Coconut Panna Cotta with Passion Fruit Drizzle, or Chocolate-Passion Fruit Mousse with Pecan-Olive Brittle

Decadent Flavors - Blueberry Compote with Yogurt Gelato, Lemon Cornbread with Vanilla Panna Cotta, or Chocolate Mousse with Salted Caramel Sauce

Crispy and Crunchy - Vanilla-braised Pineapple Spears, Almond-Pineapple-Raisin "Baklava", or Zucchini-Carrot Cake with Vanilla Panna Cotta

For the most part the desserts were very good.

We will definitely eat here again!

After dinner i was going to go to Downtown Disney by myself but while waiting for the bus i got a headache so we all ended up back at the resort full and sleepy.

At 6PM we had reservations at Tepan Edo in Japan. My review of it was that it was alright. If you have ever had Benni Hana or another Teppanyaki style restaurant you may be a little disappointed in it.

I love going to Benni Hana and Soho (another teppanyaki restaurant that we have locally). And one of my favorite things about going there is the fried rice. Here at Tepan Edo we didn't fried rice. We got plain rice. And they made some noodles for you on the grill. It was ok, but i was hoping for the fried rice.

OMG, I totally agree! When we lived in South Florida we used to go to Benni Hana in Fort Lauderdale & Key West, I never really liked it that much. When we started doing Teppanyaki in EPCOT I liked it but was still like 'ehhh.' THEN, we found a local place here in NJ called "SaWa" that has UH-MAZE-ING, like TOTALLY amazing, teppanyaki! Now, I will never go back to the one in EPCOT 'cause our local one is so excellent.

ALSO, I think this is the reason I just can't bring myself to eat Italian food or pizza in WDW 'cause ours locally is SO phenomenal that it's just a dissapointment.
