Re: My Rainiest Trip Ever

Day 4, Sunday May 17th... The rain begins....

Originally today was supposed to be Disney's Hollywood Studios but we decided to take a rest day and we hung around the resort in the morning. Then we went to see the Star Trek movie at DTD.

Then we had dinner reservations at Hollywood Brown Derby...

Joey and I both had Char-Grilled 12 oz. New York Strip Steak with herb-roasted red potatoes, cremini mushrooms, tiny onions and cabernet syrup this meal was really good.

Greg had Sterling Silver Pork Tenderloin with white cheddar mustard spaetzle, Swiss chard, onion-pomegranate reilish and cider jus

And for dessert Joey had Grapefruit Cake - A Brown Derby Original! Light Layers of Yellow Cake with fresh Grapefruit Cream Cheese Icing

I had Strawberry Cheesecake - with shortcake crust, strawberry Grand Marnier vanilla sauce

and Greg had Banana White Chocolate Toffee Tower on cocoa almond cookie and bananas "foster"

I also had some sort of Chocolate Mousse hat they brought out and sang happy birthday to me with.

Over all we were satisfied with the food at Hollywood Brown Derby but i don't think it is worth 2 TS credits per person.

After dinner we hung around DHS for a little while, Greg rode ToT and RnRC while Joey and I shopped around.

As we were heading to the bus stop the rain started to come down. We ran for the bus stop and got there pretty wet.

now a side note
Starting on this day the bus service really SUCKED. For DTD we waited 45 minutes for the bus to pick us up at SSR to go there. Then after the movie we waited another 30 or so minutes. We ended up having to get a taxi cab to go to DHS for our dinner from DTD because it was taking so darn long.

From DHS to SSR we waited another good 30 minutes... These bus issues continued the whole rest of our trip to all areas of WDW.

Now there must have been lots of complaints because all week long there was someone recording the bus arrival times at the Springs bus stop.

Sorry no pictures for this day

Re: My Rainiest Trip Ever

Day 5, Monday May 18th, Animal Kingdom Day

Today we got up and headed to AK not realizing it was EMH in the morning. So we go there a little before 9am we had about 10 minutes before the park opened to the public.

We headed right over to the Picnic in the Park desk and ordered our meal.

We thought we were going to get lucky because it looked like it was going to rain but so far it wasn't.

Greg ran off to get us fast passes for Everest and Joey and I headed towards dinosaur to meet Greg there. When we got to Dinosaur the ride was pretty empty. We practically walked right onto it. We love this ride.

After Dinosaur Joey and I went to ride Primeval Whirl. Another favorite of ours, Greg's stomach wasn't feeling well so he sat this one out.

I am in the green shirt, Joey is in the white shirt

After Primeval Whirl it was time for Everest. So we headed over in that direction. While standing in line for Everest the rain started for the day. And it never let up for very long periods of time. After Everest i bought ponchos for us all in the Everest gift shop.

We then headed over to see what the wait time was for the Safari. We ended up getting fast passes and then decided to do the trail in Africa while waiting for the fast pass time.

Komodo Dragon

Some sort of bat

Tigers

After spending time in the trail we headed to the safari for our ride. Since it was raining so much we kept the camera put away.

But this was probably the best safari ride ever that we have been on.

The animals must have been happy about the rain. We saw everything it seems. They were just out everywhere.

So i highly suggest if it is raining to go on the safari.

After the safari it was raining so much that we were ready to leave the park. But it wasn't time to pick up our Picnic in the Park. We decided to go to the window to see if we could pick it up. They said sure it just took a few extra minutes while they packed it all up for us.

We headed to the market area of Africa and found a dry place to sit near the full bar that is there and enjoyed our picnic.

Re: My Rainiest Trip Ever

After our delicious lunch we headed out of the park and back to the resort.

Greg and I decided to go and get in the hot tub at the pool for a little while. It was nice and relaxing in the rain.

We then showered and relaxed in the room until time to catch the first bus that came so we could switch to and AKL bus for our dinner at Boma.

We had a great dinner as always at Boma. One of these days i will schedule Boma on rib night i hope. But the buffet was delicious. Although i am not a big fan of their desserts.

We then headed back to the resort for the night.

Here are some miscellaneous pictures from the day.

OMG, I don't know HOW you guys like this ride!!! It KILLS my knees, don't you feel too tall for it? And I HATE when they cram 4 adults in there, when we've ridden it I usually see them put 2 adults in, or 2 adults & 2 children.

I HATE PrimEVIL Hurl!

What night is rib night? Is it always the same night or do they switch it up?
