Our Big Disney Adventure
Cast members include: DD almost 6, DS 3 1/2, DS 20 months, DH and myself ( ages unavailable).
Day 1 I tried and trid to get some sleep, but I kept worrying the power would go out again and we would miss our flight. Finally at 4am I bit the bullet and got out of bed. Got everything I could possibly get in order, woke up my DH and then went in to wake up my DD. I barely touched her cheek and whispered "We are going to Disney today"...she jumped out of bed with a big smile on her face and said 'I'm ready". We got the boys up, dressed them and jumped in the car. We packed it the night before so we would be all set. Arrived at Albany Air...no problems Transferred in Atlanta...no problems Arrived at MCO...Finally!! My DH went to get the rental with the baby while I took the older two to get the luggage. No problems there. It was pretty funny me lugging 7 bags and the car seat plus carry ons from the baggage pick-up to the curb. as the doors opened we were hit with a wall of heat and humidity. I gasped! Wow! The kids seemed unaffected. Here comes DH with the van, hop in , load the luggage and get going!! Uh oh, the top tray to the stroller is missing. It must been knocked off in the luggage compartment. Oh well, it can be replaced. Short drive to the resort. As we pull up to the Wilderness Lodge, once again I gasped again...It is beautiful. Very rustic. We unloaded, checked in. My children were running around the lobby like they were just released from prison. The baby kept running over the bridge and around the bubbling brook. Kinda doing laps! After a long walk to the elevators, past the Roaring fork, we arrived at our room. Got the bunk beds, check! Got the fifth floor, check! Great view of the woods and the small lagoon and the Contempory, can we see the castle. Nope. Ah well, I do see an alligator near the lagoon. Our bell boy insists I am mistaken. He has been here 14 years...never seen an alligator. Well, handsome, come take a look. (and yes, he was handsome. His name was Bill). Yep, that's a gator! Poor boy turned a little deeper shade of pale and called animal control. Bye! Bye! Bill! It is about time for our PS at the Whispering Canyon. We freshen up and head downstairs. What a zoo!!! People shouting, kids running around and food is everywhere!! My kinda place! We all got the All you care to eat skillet. (plus a great big margarita for moi) The food was okay. Nothing spectacular. The ribs were yummy and the cornbread was delicious, but everything else was basic. My DH thought the baked beans were interesting. After dinner we decided to just walk around and explore the Lodge. The kids were tired and I wanted to EE the MK tomorrow. I got Morgan and Dylan pins and Lanyards. DH said they could choose on pin per day. After we check out the dock and the pool we decided to call it a night. Gave the kids a bath and climbed into bed. I could hear everyones breathing, smooth and steady and was confident they were all sleeping. Now I could fall asleep. BANG! POP! POP! POP! What is that. My 3 year old Dylan heard it too. What is that Mommy?? It just hit me. I tiptoed out to the balcony with Dylan in my arms, sat in a lounge chair and witnessed the most beautiful firework display.Above the trees and directly in front of us. I looked at Dylan. He had a huge smile on his face and I could see the lights reflecting in his eyes. I would rather watch him. Now, this is magic!!

Our Big Disney Adventure
Great day 1 report!
It made me feel like I was there, but we won't be until Oct. You described just the kind of magic that I'm hoping will happen for my grandchildren(2, 3 & 4) who will be on their first trip. Thanks and keep the reports coming. graybill

Our big Disney Adventure-Day 2...MK
Day 2 Magic Kingdom and Chef Mickey
Naturally I couldn't sleep, so at 6 am I got up got myself ready for the day and began packing a cooler for the park. Juices, water and snacks. I got the kids clothes, put toothpaste on the toothbrushes, lined up the shoes and cream cheesed some bagles. It was assembly line city! I got a wake up call for 7am , so at 6:58 I put the phone next to my DD on the top bunk and waited for it to ring. Brrring! She got it on the first ring. I don't know what Mickey says, but she was answering him!!! It was very amusing. I got her going as I told my DH to wake up the boys and get them going. He looked at me, then looked at the clock, then looked at the slumbering lost boys. HAH! He thinks he is on vacation!!! GET OUT OF BED!!! We arrive at the dock launch by 7:45. we were one of the few in line for the boat and boarded quickly. (This was actually a highlight of our trip. the kids really like the launch and it was beautiful at night time. The Contempory, Poly, GF and WL are lit up like Christmas trees and the view is breathtaking as we glide past.) As soon as we passed the enterance, we are bombarded by Belle(in her blue dress), Alice in Wonderland, Sleeping Beauty, Captian Hook. And a few other bears or monkeys or something....I forget. Morgan pleads to get some pictures and autographs, so I give in. After all it is THEIR trip, and really the lines are so short. She actually has a pretty in depth conversation with Belle and Aurora. Aurora kneels down and looks her straight in the eye and talks and talks. It was so personal. The look on Morgan's face is priceless. Almost like she was getting very important instructions. We make our way up Main street, get our picture taken with the castle behind us ( which we purchases because it is so awesome), and head to FantasyLand. We jump on Snow White Scary first. HELLO and DAH! What was I thinking with such little ones??? But there was no line and I paniced. It was okay...the baby freaked everytime we went into dark rooms after that, but hey that's what therapy is for!! Off to Dumbo, spot Ariels Grotto and get in line. We are maybe the 5th family in line. My kids LOVE Ariel and I think this will be a great picture. Get everyone positioned , smile! Uh, sorry gang...no film. These are the times I would like nothing better than to blame my DH for this mishap. Sorry folks, this ones on me!!! Dh tells me to shake it off and take one for the team. Off to Carrousel, then the LONG line for Peter Pan. I really do not believe waiting longer than 15 minutes for a 2 second attraction is worth it. Jumped right on Small World and 10 seconds after we got going, Dylan has to go use the facilities. He ALWAYS waits til the last minute. I think the water ride kinda triggered that feeling, but right about now I wanted It's a Small World to be much smaller. I wanted to stand him at the side of the boat and let him "take care of business". I know Yikes! DCers who are parents are probably nodding thier heads, DCers without kids are cringing!!! anyway, I guess he got it under control, but right afeter we unloaded my DH raced him to the restroom! Whew! What a relief...literaly. By now the MK is wall to wall. We head to the Mad tea Party and the kids choose a pin from a Kiosk. Morgan got Aurora and Dylan got Boo. Got FP for Winnie and hopped on Mad Tea Party. Down to Buzz Lightyear which is VERY cool. the huge Buzz in the loading enterance is a great photo op. The kids are messing around on the metal dividers and Morgan loses the back to her new pin. Nuts!! I stuff the pin in my pocket nad get on the ride. I nail everything and the baby is looking green from spinning him around so much. He is yelling BUZZ!, ZURG!, over and over, so maybe he is just green from the atmosphere. Head to another Kiosk to purchase a few Buzz things. (Rocket Buzz, Die Cast Buzz, Spinning light up Buzz and Tee Shirt Buzz). A very special CM named Ray starts talking to my DD, giving her stickers and telling her he thinks she looks like a princess. She tells him she lost the back to her pin. He tells her to visit him at his Kiosk and he will fix it. We grab lunch at the Starlite cafe. The kids had chicken and FF and bab carrots and DH and I tried the Chicken sands. Pretty good for quick serve. I like the baby carrot option. The kids are getting hot and tired. The babys head is jerking up and down like a bobble head. Hey, he's in a stroller why can't he just fall asleep??? Guess he can't get comfortable. We decide to head back to the WL and take a break. Hey, there's is CM Ray. He gives Morgan a small bag of pin backs. I am assuming the sell them, but he just hands them over. We used them three other times, thank you , Ray!! Slightly past the Castle Devon falls asleep. Morgan and I head into Tinkerbells Treasures. she wants a Jasmine outfit. Hey whats another $75. Can't take it with you. I hesitate as I tell my DH how much it was. His response..." Where's the wig?" I barely let the words leave his lips. Grabbing the opportunity, we run in for the wig(and the jewelry) Outfit is complete!! By the time we get to the WL Devon's nap is over and he is refreshed. We change into our swimsuits and mess around in the pool for a couple of hours. The slide is a HUGE hit with Morgan. My very adventurous son, Dylan, doesn't want to do it. That's what he thinks. Is it the tunnel??? We'll see. I climb to the top with him and give my DH the thumbs up. Dylan sits down, looks at me and changes his mind. NOT!!! I give him a shove and off he goes. DH said he ended up backwards or upside down feet in the air...blah, blah, blah! Don't call Child Protetive Services on me yet...he like it!!! Back to our room, changed for Chef Mickey's. Took the launch right to the Contemp. We got our pictures taken and were seated in minutes. ( The pictures were terrible. Morgan had her head turned, Dylan looked drunk and the baby had his hand in my DH's face. I look great! Hmmm...maybe I should have purchased them). Dinner was super. The buffet was plentiful and very tasty. The characters were everywhere and came to your table 5 or 6 times. Dylan is not into them and prefers to keep his distance. We were seated in a booth and he was laying down not paying attention. Goofy came up behind him and started tickeling him and really "goofing" off. Dylan really responded and I got some great pictures. Devon, 20 month old, was grabbed by Chip and carried around the room. He was so into the characters. He screamed with joy when he saw Donald Duck. This was a great dinner. We hopped on the monorail to the MK for a quicky. I didn't want the day to end. We saw Jasmine and Mary Poppins as we re-entered and stopped for pictures. Seemed like a lot of people were leaving. Everyone was heading down Main Street. The park was closing in 15 minutes. We jumped on the boat launch for WL and called it a night. Got our wake up for 7am and drifted into Never, Neverland. And I swear everyone was smiling in their sleep.
