Mattomouse Family Trip report Days 1 and 2
OK the alarm clock tolled at 4AM!!!!! Got the kids up and dressed and dragged my ssiter off the couch to drive us to the airport. Everyhting went according to plan and the Tiffiany Towncar was waiting for us when we exited the plane! The dreive was very courteous and friendly and we were on our way to the Royal Pacific at Universal Studios.
What can I say about Universal Studios??? It was fun and some of the rides were rpetty neat (Spiderman, Twister, Men in Black and Jaws) were pretty neat and the kids got a kick out them. What can I say? HMMMMM? Oh yeah IT AIN'T DISNEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) We had fun but the atmosphere just wasn't what I owuld call Family oriented. I hate to put it his way but the language we heard from of the unsupervised teens was deplorable and the4 manners of many of the unsupervised teens as well as some adults was deplorable!!!! Even with that we still had a good time and enjoyed most of the rides that the boys could go on. Most of the high end thrill rides they could not go on (Hulk, Dueling Dragons and so on). As far as the water rides YOU WILL GET WET! no make that SOAKED!!! but again we did enjoy them and the kids had a blast! Just wished I had reemembered the tip about the lockers and bringing bathing suits for that portion of the park! We ate at NBA the first n ight and the food was so so. We were going to eat at Margaritaville the second night but decided to just hit Universal again and do Twister, Earthquake and Shreak (Shrek we had to do twice, the kids loved it!) We ate at the hotle when we got back the second night, pretty late around 9:00 PM or so. We ended up eatting at Jakes in the Royal Pacific and the food was good. Both days we had breakfast at teh hotle buffet and the food was excellent! I'll be be back for the WDW portion soon enough!

Welcome home, Matto! I agree with you about Universal...you get a different feeling walking through the turnstyle. Although the 2 parks are really cool and different, THEY JUST CAN'T COMPARE TO THE MAGIC OF DISNEY!!! ;)

Matto family day 3 trip report (AGAIN!)
OK lets try this again!
Day three, we're up early and have breakfast and waiting for the hourse drawn carriage to whisk us away from the Royal Pacific to the Poly (YEAH!). I just don't understand why the kids were upset? Do you think getting them up at 5AM and having them standing outside by 6 was a little to early for a 10:30 pickup?? OK I wasn't that bad but I wanted to be!!!!!!!!!!! We arrived at thge Poly at around 11:00AM and were immediatly transported to the Tahti Longhouse to check in for our stay at the concierge level! Nope never made it to the lobby but I did dance in the lounge! I gotta tell you though, other then the ease of check in (Which is worth quite a few points) unless you plan on spending a lot of time in your room the concierge thing is a novelty that wears off fast (I'll post more later about this). Our room was ready and we dropped our bags and headed off to the valet area to get picked up by that big blue DVC van! We sat down with the rep from DVC and I basically said "OK where do we sign!" He said "Slow down I haven't even introduced myself yet!!!!!!!!" So we went through the two and half hour formality of viewing the rooms and the walk through (Which was actually worth every second of!) and then signed up and bought our interest in the Magic of Disney at Saratoga Springs!!!! Once we were doen we proceeded to the play/recreation area where they keep the little one busy and fund the oldest DS playing away and youngest one out like a light sitting up in a chair. This was cause for concern because he usually dosen't do that, sl;eep in a chair I mean, he usually grabs whatever he can and builds a nest and sleeps on the floor! Turns out he had a fever! GASP! Back to the room, OH NO WE FORGOT THE MOTRIN!!!!!!!!!! My DW and my sister (Yes she decided to spend some time with us afterall!) ran off to the Great Cerimonial House to get some Motrin. They came back to the room and we had to make the foirst of many changes to our game plan! We cancelled our dinner at Ohana's and DW opted to stay inthe room with our youngest while my sister and I took our oldest out to the MK for E-ticket night! UH OH! Was that thunder? Open the curtains! OMG what happened to the GF, CR and the MK????? I think we might be in Kansas Toto! The wind and rain were unbelievable! Now those familier with the layout of the Poly know that Tahiti is situated on the lagoon. Our room was faced the MK, CR and GF. The rain and wind were so hard that you could not see any of them, and the GF was within walking distance! SOOOOOOOOO we donned our ponchos and hit the MK once the typhoon abated! We had dinner at the CP which was a real feat concidering we were walkins and the line was pretty long. we only waited about 10-15 minutes! The CM who waited on us even gave my oldest a little Eyoree figurine which he (My DS decided he would give to his brother) When the CM heard t his he gave him a little Pooh Santa hat Christmas ornament! Talka bout magical moments! After dinner we headed off and did HM, Buzz Lightyear and Space Mountain. BTM and Splash Mountain were closed because of the rain! We then hit the shops and then headed back to our resorts! A perfect ending to a not so perfect day. Our youngest ate up a storm and went to sleep. His fever abated adn he was raring to go in the AM! Day 4 to follow!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :) :)

Matt had to re-type this whole post cause I got a little out of control when trying to delete a double post and ended up deleting the whole thread....so sorry to those of you who may have replied to the first post... I promise to stay away from moderating duties after having worked 12 hours in the SC sunshine from now on...;)
Matt, it sounds like your family made the best of a not-so-great situation... In true mattomouseman fashion... Looking forward to Day 4....got my delete option ready ;)
