Pre-Honeymoon Trip Report (1 Week Away and Counting!)

Well, my excitement and anticipation is definitely building. In one week from today, I will be a married man to a wonderful gal. Plans are continuing to be made and carried out for our new home and the wedding itself. My honeymoon trip to Disney World (a week spent at the Polynesian) begins the following day when we fly down in the early afternoon. I keep asking her if she'd like to eat at one of the better restaurants during our stay (it would be nice at least once or twice) but she's not sure because we'll be in the parks walking around all day and may be too tired. That's fine with me because I can be completely satisfied eating at the fast-counter service places like Roaring Forks (at Wilderness Lodge) or Captain Cook's (at the Polynesian). In any case, I know we'll have the time of our lives....that's always a given during a Disney World vacation.

Our Fairytale Vacation Package has been paid off for quite some time now, so all I really need to do is be sure and fax in my room requests and hope they can fulfill any part of it. I'm very excited right now...enough to burst. We'll definitely need to unwind and relax after the stress and strain of getting our wedding and our home together and I can't think of a better place to be than Disney. As George Costanza (from "Seinfeld") would express it,
"I'm busting, Jerry, I'm busting!". I have a video camera I'm bringing because I'd like to capture as much of the trip as I can, but need to find a regular camera we can borrow so we have various snapshots as well.

There's so much I've never done in Disney World that I'd like to try during this trip, things such as: eat a Dole Whip, take in the American Adventure show, Hall of Presidents, Primeval Whirl, Mission:Space, Walt Disney World Railroad, and who knows what else. My (soon to be) wife will have even more to experience than I do, as she's only been to the Magic Kingdom and that was about 10+ years ago. So, if I hadn't said it enough, I'm very excited and will be sure and give a good trip report when we get back.

Have a wonderful wedding and a magical honeymoon trip. We will expect a full trip report when you return.

How about you surprise her with a nice dinner while you are there. It doesn't have to be California Grill or V & A but some place nice like Spoodles, Fulton's or best yet 'Ohana since you are staying at the Poly. 'Ohana is one of my must do restaurants, the food is great (as long as you are both meat eaters!!) and it can be very romantic (ask for a window table for a great view of the castle).

Good luck!!!:)

Congrats!! I remember the fun of our wedding and while the planning is tiring it is really exhilarating. You deserve the break and what better place than Disney to start out together.

Congrats SilentRascal!!! Its been awhile, but I vividly remember the week before the big day... lots of planning but excitement. We spent a week in Orlando for our honeymoon as well. That was before DTD and AKL were around, but we enjoyed one night at Church Street Center... lots of wonderful bars and shopping. We'll all be looking forward to a full trip report...

Here's to a happy, pixie dust-filled life together :heart

good luck and congrats . A good suprise for a good dinner would be Ohanas since you wouldnt have to go far and the food there is yummy if you decide to do a nice dinner and if you decide to do more you can always try to get PS the day of we didnt have PS on July 4th and we got them in the morning for CP so I know that if you decide on a good meal on your trip you can always try to get PS

When you fax in your requests, make sure you mention(politely,of course)that it is your honeymoon trip, and I bet they'll bend over backwards to fulfill your wishes.

Congrats on your up comming wedding.
My DH and I were married at the Poly back in June 2002 and we spent our honeymoon there as well.
You are going to love it there, its so romantic. It was nice being able to sit on the balcony and watch the fireworks over the MK. Or we would sit in one of hammocks along the beach and watch them. :heart

Like Mickaholic said make sure that you mention in your fax that its your honeymoon. The CM's at the Poly are wonderful and full of surprises. :bandit
Did you book thru Disney?
If so did you add the honeymoon package to your reservation? Its filled with alot of good stuff....
Just wondering.

Congratulations! WDW is without a single doubt the BEST place I can think of to honeymoon! (I'm not saying this from experience, of course, but....) ;) I hope everything goes wonderfully for you, both during the BIG DAY and the honeymoon. Enjoy the Poly, it's my favorite place!!!! :heart

My honeymoon vacation is now 4 days away....and just today I faxed in my room request to the Polynesian. I don't know if whoever received it will be able to accomodate any of it, but I hope they got the hint that it's my honeymoon vacation. I also hope that Hurricane Isabel stays away for at least most of the trip, if not all.

This time of year is slow enough that they should be able to accommodate most room requests. At least, that's what I was told by them last year, when I got my request at the Poly. And since it's your honeymoon, I have a feeling they will go out of their way to make it extra special for you! :D HAVE FUN!!!! We'll be there at the same time as you!!!!
