Jacki's trip report day 1

Okay here it goes, just a warning I tend to babble on and on so I am apologizing in advance.

Our group contained the following

Jacki- ME!! 37y.o.
Keith- DH 36 y.o.
Alex- DS 10 y.o
Mikayla- DD 8y.o.
Jan- My Mom 60-ish
Tom- My Dad 65 y.o.
Kyle- Alex's best friend 11 y.o.

My trip begins at 3:10 A.M. Saturday, September 13th when the limo driver arrives 20 minutes early and believe it or not, we are ALL READY!;) (I guess that's what happens when you start packing on Monday!) We get to Midway airport by 4:30 A.M. for our 6:50 A.M. flight (cause I am anal about missing the flight) check in with no wait at all and leave on time. The kids are pumped cause they actually slept a few hours longer than the adults did. we arrive at Orlando MCO 20 minutes early, get our luggage and go right down the stairs to L&M car rental and walk right up to the counter and got our mini-van key, walked across the street to the parking garage and picked it up! loaded it to the gill and off we went! there was NO traffic going to WDW, took us about 20 minutes-ish from the airport to our hotel, All star sports, where we had to wait the longest to check in. got it all together then went to McDonalds for a bite to eat then off to Animal Kingdom, the park is great & the crowds are low, we walked on "it's tough to be a bug" the safari, kali river rapids met some characters and went to dinoland usa and totally missed the dinosaur attraction (didn't even see it) senile moment!! rode some rides at dinoland, shopped a bit, watched the parade and then went back to the hotel to see if our rooms were ready, which they were. it was around 4:30 p.m. so we let the kids go swimming while we unpacked and settled in for the week. we ate dinner in the hotel nothing fantastic. then we were off to Magic Kingdom to see the Spectro Magic Parade and fireworks
that was totally awesome I was sooooooo taken back by the floats (though I did video them and the fireworks too) it was almost 10 p.m. and we are whipped so back to the hotel and right to bed so we could start it all over again tomorrow at MGM.

I have said it before and will say it again I had no idea what to expect when I got to WDW but I really didn't expect this. This place was spectacular!!!!:D

note: my father was smiling ear to ear when he got off of "it's tough to be a bug" and he went on kali river rapids and safari too! so I guess it is right to say disney knows no age!!

more tomorrow live from MGM!!!!!!

TTFN, Jacki:)

Sounds as though you guys made full use of your time there, and then some! Jacki, am I correct in thinking that this was your first time at the World of Disney? If so, then I would like to be the first to give my condolences to your wallet. Once you've been bitten by the WDW bug, there's no going back...;)

Great trip report so far, can't wait to read the rest of it!

CM:)

You are right this is my first time back in 17 years and dear hubby hasn't been there since he was 9 y.o.
I researched a ton of info (mostly from you guys at disney central.com) so I really was ready for it all. the prices included!! condolences accepted, though we did come back with a little cash!

Thanks for the TR, Jacki! It sound like my kind of day! ;) We pack every single minute full of something. We always start our Disney trips with a visit to MickeyDs near the AS resorts. My kids love it.

Jacki, you are right about that, since I am waaaaay too close to your dad's age and can hardly STAND THE WAIT till our next trip. Your day one trip report was great. Glad you are back safely. Glad Isabel stayed away from Florida for your trip!!

There is no way to describe WDW to someone who has never been there. It is beyond words. Once you go you will never be able to stay away again.

Day one sounds great. I'm glad your father enjoyed. Nope, Disney doesn't know or care how old you are. It's like Neverland where everyone is a kid forever. I can't wait to hear the rest.
