Pre-trip plans ~ suggestions anyone?

I am trying to put the finishing touches on our upcoming trip to the world... due to some unforeseen circumstances this will not be our ultimate trip of a lifetime as I had intended but at least we ARE GOING TO DISNEY!!!:)

Cast: me (31) dh (31) dd (6) & ds (13 mos)
Offsite: Sheraton Vistanta Resort (Awesome deal thru my timeshare getaways program...$195 for 7 nights
:D )
When: Oct 10-17

I've decided to purchase 4 day HP from the DS ($570) and have already purchased MNSSHP tickets which will give us 5 days at the world during our visit.

Here is my plan:

10/10: Arrive, check-in, grocery store for weekly staples, then hit the Disney Outlets (pick up any good deals before DD sees stuff in the parks
 )

10/11: Morning~EPCOT PS @ PSB (is this really worth the $$$), afternoon~AK, eve~MK

10/12: Morning~MK PS@CRT (this is a definate!!!), Rest of the day MGM (Pizza Planet for lunch???)

10/13: Morning~MK, Afternoon~ AK (AK meal vouchers yes!!!), Eve~Epcot (Any Suggestions for a good meal here using Q& C vouchers)

10/14: Family fun outside the world...mini golf, swimming, rest up for MNSSHP

10/15: SHOPPING ~ Downtown Disney & Boardwalk (hmm Beaches & Cream for lunch)

10/16: MY BIRTHDAY Morning~ PS @ CM, afterwards Epcot, rest of the day MGM PS @ H&V fantasmic dinner pkg.

10/17: Trip back home

Ok guys so what do you think, This plan is very flexible of course, my goal is for my DD to have a great time and me too! Am trying to do too much? Any suggestions...please. I also plan to post our actual trip reports while while we are there so stay tuned...

I highly suggest Le Cellier at Epcot!!! I am not sure if you can use the Q & C vouchers tho!!! We ate there and it was fantastic!!!:)

Unfortunately, you can't use Q&C at LeCellier. Wah.

If you're doing live reports, could you please cover what's available at the Outlets well? I'm hoping to head to Belz with my MIL when we're there.

Good eats at Epcot with Q&C:

Electric Umbrella is good for basic fair, then take food outside and watch the Fountain of Nations while you eat. (let us know if it's working? I've heard it's not been running for the past couple of days due to busted pipes?)

Harry Ramsden Fish and Chips in the UK is pretty quick and tasty. Yakatori House in Japan is good for more exotic foods. My favorite is Tangerine Cafe in Morroco - love the couscous. The Cantina de San Angel in Mexico is very good, too. We love mexican, and it's not too hot for the kids.

I guess I was no help. We love the food in World Showcase, no matter where it is. :D

MM, I was not crazy about the Electric Umbrella! Maybe it was because I got a grilled chicken sandwich with SOGGY BREAD? Ugh, I returned it once and it came back to me the same way. I ate the chicken, no bun and the fries were good...of course!

The Cantina de San Angel is WONDERFUL! And you can use the Q&C meal vouchers there! You can use them at any counter service restaurant at Epcot...just make sure you use them where you will get the best deal!!! Cantina de San Angel has a yummy taco salad in a big taco bowl that is so good.....and HUGE!!! The margaritas are great, too!!!

The Sheraton Vistana Resort is great, as you know kphil, I own 2 weeks there. Try to enjoy the resort on your "down" day...there is a new mini golf place right across the street from the resort!!! Oh, they also have a mini golf course on the grounds of Vistana, too! Another tip...DO NOT go food shopping at the grocery store right across the street. It's a rip off. The best place for groceries, IMO, is Walmart, not too far away. And you can get EVERYTHING you need there!!!!!

Oh and my bday is 10/17...a day after yours!!!! :laugh

I hope you have a wonderful time...and that deal you got for the week is AMAZING! They rent 2 bedroom villas for almost $200 per night, and you got it for the week!!! WOW!!!!!! And WAIT until you see just how close it really is to Disney property....

HAVE FUN!!!! :)

Oh, I also forgot to add...you can use the Q&C vouchers at Beaches and Cream too! They are a great deal there! You just can't get the Kitchen Sink dessert, but everything else is available!!! And the food is DELICIOUS, too!!! We loved our meal there and we couldn't even put a dent in our desserts!!!!! They were TO DIE FOR!!! :laugh And of course, Fat Free when you're on vacation!!!! :angel ;) :p

I will for sure post about any great deal I find at the Outlets, I am going to the one at Beltz and the one off of 535? I am looking for a lanyard for my DD to start her pin trading this trip. I went on ebay an snagged 6 pins for $9 :D just to get her started.

I have never been to Epcot...ok sorry but my first ever trip was in April and we just didn't get to that park but I plan to spend at least a whole day there. I saw the menu for the Cantina and I was thinking of trying it. I love Mexican foods too! Thanks for the great suggestions.

2nd vote for Cantina... I guess I will just have to try this out for myself :laugh Kim do you think it's worth using a Q&C voucher?

I was thinking of playing the mini golf course at WDW since I can get 15% off with DC is the one at the Vistana totally free to guest?

What grocery store across from the Vistana...I'm trying to get my bearings on the location. I think I remember seeing the entrance in April...I found the SuperWalmart and yes I will be shopping there first and looking for souvenirs there too;)

I knew there was just something magical about you Kim...Lovely Libra...ohh and BTW my name is Kim too! How cool is that!

And for sure I am trying to work B&C into my schedule. I have heard so many wonderful things about it. I can't wait to try it!

kphil,

Your itinerary sounds great. I will 3rd the San Angel it's quite good and relaxing for some down time. Try the margaritas there most excellent. Beaches and Cream is good too but it's sometimes is so crowded (that's where were staying BC concierge). Planet Pizza was fun and cute and the food was good my boys enjoyed the pizza. Have a happy WDW birthday and don't forget your birthday pin. My DS is celebrating his birthday at WDW and were doing Cape May Cafe for dinner and then the Illumination Birthday Cruise. I can't wait. I also bought my son pins off e-bay didn't do as good as you but I purchased 20 pin (including a birthday one) and a new mission space lanyard for just under 80.00. You'll have to take you DD to the Beach Club to trade with Art the Doorman. I believe he's off Sunday and Monday. He's so cool and totally worth the trip. Have a great trip and we'll be right behind you Nov 5-16.

Paula
