Trip Report Guidelines

Okay y'all.... I want to be the first to thank everyone for sharing their trip reports with everyone. It takes alot of time to pull the information together and helps everyone to handle their PDD... THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

I am going to set up some guidelines however for the trip reports for a couple of reasons. First of all, it is so easy to miss a day if you can't remember which day/thread you last read for an individual. I have trouble sometimes finding each day in order that it happened. Secondly, it consumes alot of space on the front page and for visitors or those considering becoming a part of our group, it looks like the main purpose of the website is strictly to post trip reports rather than to provide Disney information and friendships with those who have a common interest. I hope y'all understand.

When you start a trip report, name it something original to you so that others can identify your report ~ definitely include your signon name. When you return to your thread to add more information, just click on the add a new post. Every time you add to your thread, it will still get kicked back to the front page so others will know that you made an additional entry. In the subject line, go ahead and make a note of the day number so when folks are looking for the next day, it will be easy to find.

I appreciate your help with this guys.... I will be combining reports here soon, but it will be somewhat time consuming. Just bear with me. :whistle:

Great idea Anne, I forget what days I have read and what days I haven't. This way I only have one thread to follow for each trip report.

Great idea, as mentioned by disneyteacher, I too forget which one I read so I end up reading them again (which sometimes isn't a bad thing) you are soooo right though!!!

Perfect idea, Anne. I already thought of doing that for mine, but I didn't want to confuse people...hopefully most people will read this so they understand when a trip report is all enclosed in one thread! Like you said, it gets confusing trying to remember what parts of a report I've read, and which I haven't... :dazed Sorry, I'm babbling!

Let me share with everyone what I did for my trip report, because it seemed much easier for me to type it ahead of time on MS WORD and then cut and paste large sections of it one after the other.

Here's my example: http://www.disneycentral.com/forum/s...is+trip+report

Not only did it give me a copy that I could keep on my hard drive and print and share with others, but it also spell checked everything (thank goodness!!)

great idea Anne!!! I am guilty of posting several threads to my trip report. I had trouble keeping track of my reports.

I agree!!! Using your suggested format will be a great improvement!!!

I did the same thing. I typed my report in Word and copy/pasted into DC. I liked having my report in one thread so I could keep track of it and the spell check helped a lot.

hmmmm Okay... I guess I need to go back to WDW so I can use this format!!! I actually wanted to use that format, but was following all of the other report formats! Yikes did I just put all the blame off of me!!! :) Never... next time I will follow this format.... I like it! I like it!! :D

Anne, this is an AWESOME idea. You are right about having to sift through all of the trip reports to find the next day...this will make it so easy! I will do this for my December trip! Coming up soon....which means you will be visiting NY soon!!! Yippee!!! :laugh

Great suggestions. Just what I was thinking, but you said it much better than I could have.

Can you post a quick outline of your "rules" in a new thread, and then make it sticky in the Trip Report forum. If you could also lock it, so there aren't any replies, I think it will be easier for everyone to read prior to posting their trip reports.

I thing this will make it much easier for other to follow and better enjoy the trip reports.
