Geeman's Disney Cruise Photos page

Hi all,
It's very late where I am, but I have been trying to tie up everything to do with my recent Disney Cruise (October 2003), so that I can go on to thinking about other things. :)

We took a ton of digital photos, and I've posted up some here, along with a Trip Report (if you need a refresher, check the Cruise section of the forum). But tonight I spent the last while posting a bunch of them to my personal homepage. (After a day of working on a DVD of my video footage, mind you :dazed)

The page itself is still in the works, and intended to be personal, but I've decided to share some of these photos with the people who would get the biggest kick out of it -- all of you fellow DC'ers.

So I hope you enjoy. There's a lot to a page, so I wouldn't bother too much if you're on Dial-up or a too slow connection.

But for those of you who wish, join us on our Western Caribbean Cruise aboard the Disney Magic...

Enjoy, folks!:)

Awesome pictures! I LOVE the sunrise/sunset ones. And I still can't get over that wicked moon/castle shot.

Woah. Serious thanks, although I'm now going to be pestering you with Mac powerbook questions (dying for the 15" with a superdrive!)

I *love* your sunrise shots. I know it's a dog of a time to wake up, but I very much appreciate them. Thank you! (uh, can I have the one with the tube thingies in it for a desktop?)

Could you also talk more aobut the Mayan (?) ruins? Did they have loads of excursios that you could go on, or could you just take a taxi out there? This was your first cruise, right?

Thanks so much for enjoying them, everyone. It's a nice feeling to know that a little bit of effort does get noticed.;)

Besides, it's hard to take a trip to WDW nowadays and not think about DC and how best to describe what you saw/felt. And it's always best to share the journey with people who actually care (or "get it").

BDavis- those sunshine on the water photos are my favorite, and I got that totally by accident. We'd returned from strolling in Key West and I went up on deck to get something to drink, when decided to stroll and enjoy the view- suddenly I noticed the crowd standing ashore and remembered that it was nearly sunset, so I ran back for my cameras and watched it happen. Looks great on video, too. Kept thinking of an old John Denver song.

WEDINDISNEY - We had fun at MNSSHP, but since it was so dark, we kind of gave up on photos after a few. Plus, we had just gotten to Orlando hours earlier and just didn't think about taking too many pics there. But that was fun. And we tried to be "subtle" about costumes.:)

MickeyMac - thanks! Sure, PM your G4 questions to me. I must say, bringing (both of our) computers along on the trip seemed geeky, but we were able to unload our photos daily and have plenty of room for more. ;) As for the desktop, I can send you the real file, which might look better (these were resized). Let me know which one it was. As for the Mayan ruins, the photos pretty much say it all. They have quite a few excursions to the Mexican mainland and a couple of all day tours (like this one). You can book them on your own, but we preferred to go on one sanctioned by the cruise line. It's much too complex to get into here, but perhaps I'll add some of that info into the trip reports section when I get the chance.

To everyone else, I'm glad this might have inspired you to take the trip. It was indeed a different way to enjoy the magic, yet in a weird way, it often felt like we'd never left WDW! Believe it or not, we had ordered the cruise video way back in January, just to see what it was like, and at first didn't think we'd ever go on it. We just put the video aside. Suddenly, 6 months later, while planning a fall getaway, we revisited the idea when we noticed there were some great deals going on.

And I'm really, really happy we did.

Glad you enjoyed the results.
