Goofygal1975 weekend trip/Sister's Engagement at Disney

Ok, here it goes.

Cast: Me and ds(8), My sister and her bf

My ds and I decided last minute to stay a night at Disney last week. So we stayed at All Star Sports, in the baseball section! My sister and her bf stayed one night at Port Orleans, bayou mansion section, somewhat of an upgrade because of an hour wait while the CM couldn't find their reservation. The next day they moved on to the Grand FLoridian!!

Friday night my ds started throwing up every hour on the hour, so i figured our mini trip was cancelled. He woke up at 10:30am saturday and was ready to go! I was amazed he was feeling better, and happy to still be able to go.

Saturday 11/15

Check in was easy(only 2 people ahead of us at 2pm) we ate lunch and rested. Went to MK and rode TTA (ds fav ride) and walked out to meet sister at Poly for Wishes. We got to see Spectromagic on our way out. (i have to say, they have really made progress with the exit during the parade. they had areas roped of for walkways and CM's all over telling people to keep moving! very nice!!)

We meet up at Poly with sister and bf, and sit over to the side out of the way to watch Wishes. We couldn't really hear too good, but it was still beautiful! We go look at my sisters resort and head back to sleep.

Sunday 11/16

Wake up, check out, head to AK!! Ds and I got there at 9am, and headed right for Lion King!! Taking our time since it didn't start until 10am. Brandon got picked to give the sound of the Giraffe section!!:laugh It took him a time or two to get it right, but the fact that he got up there in the first place was amazing to me!!

We got lots of pictures with characters, and Brother Bear characters where there now!

This is the first time we used Pal Mickey at AK, and I have to say that out of all the parks, this was the best real use of Pal Mickey!! He told us about the animals and just pointed out things we might have missed!! I'm glad we brought him along for this trip!!

At about 130(after watching Tarzan Rocks!) we headed to the GF to meet my sister and her bf to see what the rooms look like! We found them at 3pm and the room wasn't ready. We waited and waited until after 4pm for the room. Now, keep in mind her bf was proposing to her that night at a 540pm PS!!

But when we walked into the room.........:love: It was the BEST view i had ever seen! Looked right out into the lagoon and all you saw when you walked in, was the Castle! It was so beautiful!! We helped them get ready and took pictures of them all snazed up! (my sister didn't know it was happening *that* night) She didn't want to leave, she wanted to sit out on the balcony!:laugh

They told us to stay in the room and watch Wishes from there, even though it would mean us not getting home on a SUnday night until after 9pm. We were going to leave, but my ds got a migrane, so we watched the Buc's football game (they loose again:madmad ) and sat out on the balcony to watch Wishes. It was so amazing i cried!!:cry: Just so wonderful to sit there and watch! Earlier we could hear Cinderalls Surprise show going on at the castle!! I have to give a big thanks to GF staff for making sure they got a great room (especially since they had a disncounted FL resident rate).

The proposal:

This went well also. They had a window seat, and my sister bf was able to hand off the camera to the cm to take pictures of the proposal. (he was to afraid to give someone my digital camera, so he used a film one) He got down on one knee as soon as the lights dimmed and the music started for Wishes. As he asked her and she said yes, the fireworks went off! They were served desert with congrats from cali grill on it!

They had a great night, and even called us at home to tell us all about it! The next day they went out and about, and ordered room service to watch Wishes from the balcany. Turns out michael got food poisining from the chili and was up sick all night, and so was my sister. So they had to cancel breakfast ps and tea and head home early which was really dissapointing:cry:

It was a really magical time for them, and the look on my sisters face as she saw the view that they had from the room was priceless!!

I will post some of the pictures from our trip and my sisters trip (with her permission;) ) There will be pictures from GF , the wonderful view from the room, the tree in the lobby (much much smaller this year!!) and some pictures from AK!!

Wow, what a great trip for your sister! Her engagement sounds beautiful. I am sorry her fiance' got sick though, I hope it didn't spoil the weekend. Are we going to be hearing about a Disney wedding?

What a great report! I am so happy for your sister's perfect night. Wow! He couldn't have timed that beautiful proposal any better. What a special man and what a lucky girl. I 'm sorry to read about your son's migraine and your sister and FBIL getting food poisoning..ugh! At least they had that perfect night. Thanks for the pictures. The GF is so pretty. One day I hope to stay there...sigh..maybe. Thanks again for sharing a wonderful trip with us.

Yes, you may be hearing about plans for a Disney Wedding. Actually that idea even came before the proposal! haha! They did have a magical time, even with him getting sick!

She did say though, that she wouldn't want to stay there for more than a day or two. The room was so beautiful with the view, and they paid so much for the room that they didn't want to NOT be at the room/balcony for too long! She said they started to have cabin fever! :laugh They did visit the monorail resorts and WL and DTD, but other than that they made sure to enjoy the view!

Sorry to hear that your little man got sick. I hope that he is feeling better. Looks like he had a blast at AK. I love the picture of him with Pal Mickey in front of the tree of life.

Congrats to your sister. Im sure that she is still on cloud 9. (in case you are wondering that is the cloud to left of WDW) :laugh
Keep us posted on the wedding plans and if a DisneyWorld wedding is a thought for them.

How exciting what a truly wish come true to be propsoed to at WDW. I glad Brandon felt fine enough to go on the trip. Tell your sister and her husband to be congats and I wish them the best with all their plans.
