Friday Feb 13th

Cast: Me and ds Brandon (8)

We leave around 9:30 am on this VERY foggy morning. I get a call from Cheryl (tiggerlover1971) around 10:30 letting me know they are checked in and ready to head to AK. It was very foggy and i was driving through construction so i couldn't talk long. I was happy to hear her room was ready so early and hoping ours would be too!!

We walk into Pop Century lobby, and were just amazed!! And then we were even more amazed when there was only ONE family in line ahead of us checking in!! There were *so* many Cast Members at the check in counter, it was unbelievable!! And great!! I hear someone calling my sons name, but dont pay much attention, as there are a lot of Brandons!! But after hearing it again, I realize it was Alma (mickaholic!) We talk a few minutes after i check in, and she heads out to meet everyone at AK. I am still not feeling well at this point(but a lot better than i was) so i decide to just rest at the resort during the afternoon so I could enjoy our dinner that night!!

After unpacking and going to get some lunch...chicken fingers and french fries.....our favorite :whistle: , we looked around the lobby (sorry didnt have the camera then) and then after getting the camera, took a few pictures of our area.

We were in 70's B Building, and it was *such* a great location!! We could see the lake from our window, we were near the Mickey Phone and we had a twister game right outside of our room. It was a very short walk from our room to the food court and gift shop. Parking was not bad at all for us!! Found a spot up front and never moved the truck again!!

The music was just great. They had all 70's music playing around our area. Its a good thing no one saw us dancing to the music as we were walking around!:bandit :nervous :laugh

As it turns out Amy and her friends were right next to us!! Their window was decorated so cute by mousekeeping!!

Note about buses:

I had NO problem with the buses at all!! At Pop, I never waited more than 5-8 minutes for a bus and the lines they have set up are great...no one can cut in line!! Only once at EPCOT, did we have to wait the 20 minutes to get the bus. It seemed like a lot more since we were tired!

It was sometimes easier to go around the backside of the lobby and get to the buses that way for us, it was much shorter than going through the lobby and back around to the lines. Just a little hint for those staying in 80's and 70's B!!

Most of the drivers talked through out the drive. One night, 10pm coming home from EPCOT, the driver was a stand up comic!! Very funny guy!! :laugh

Its time to head out for our PS at Ohana's and meet everyone for the first time!!:) We take the bus to MK, and the monorail to the Poly. (we stop first for a quick look in the CR gift shops!!) We get to the waiting area near O'hanas and dont see anyone that we *think* are from DC!! We head downstairs to the bathroom, adn i see two women talking and think nothing of it. I hear "anne" and "water park" and think...hmmm...I wonder.... well, i walk back out there and sure enough Its Amy(ajbdk) and Laura(aurorstwin)!!! We do the hugs and "how are you's" and head out so the kids can meet! Brandon (8) and Amy's Brendon have been pen pals since August and are happy to meet for the first time!! After a minute or two of being shy...they hit it off and were best pals. We head upstairs to wait for everyone else. Cheryl calls and tells me they are on the way from AK, as were alma and DisneyAnne. Amy has goodies for everyone!! Lei's and Hair clips to match!! We were ready to dine in style!!

I have never ate at O'hanas before....and can't believe it took me this long to try it! It was *wonderful*. Everything was so good!! We had such a big group taht we had a few tables, but everyone was happy, eating and catching up!!

The kids had a great time doing the races and just meeting new friends. I was shocked at my ds for actually eating what they brought out. (I had ordered a special dinner for him ...chicken and fries...worried that he wouldnt eat what was served) I was happy to hear that he loved it and wants to go back.

Ok, computer is acting up and its getting late. Here's one more picture from the first night!!
