I wanna go baaaack!!!!

Right now I am just going to do a synopsis of our trip to WDW which was from June 1 -6th. We had an absolutely great time, despite the heat! Ha ha.

I sent Disney Central an email pix from Epcot but I don't think it was received. We didn't get one at home so none of them probably went out. Anyway, of course we sent it right after our ride on Journey Into Your Imagination - with Figment - and we were very happy with the changes. It is still not the original but is much better than what it replaced!

The only park which was a "problem" was Animal Kingdom. People flocked there! It took 20 minutes just to get through the gates! I'll gripe about that park later.

When I have a bit more time, I will write more indepth. Until then - I want to go back! I was daydreaming in class today about a nice long (kid free :D ) stay at the Grand Floridian! :p

Cinderellafifi, I feel your pain, 5 days was not long enough for me either! A kid free trip, now wouldn't that be nice, but I'm not holding my breath.:)

Okay! I'm finally here, ready to write my report.

Sunday (day 1) we went to MGM Studios. Got to the gates about 8:30 and didn't have a long wait to get in. Had to wait at Hollywood and Vine for the offical opening and then there was the mad dash to TOT / Rockin Rollar Coaster. We had a nice early lunch at Sci-Fi Cafe and the food was very, very good. Plus, they did a birthday surprise for me so that made it all the more special. The rest of the day went just as smoothly but the heat was horriffic. We drank lots of water (decided to bring our own from there on out). We left mid-day to go swimming and returned in the evenings to almost no crowds and finished up the last few rides. Tips: parents - please have your cameras ready and pens and autographs books out BEFORE your child gets to the characters! Overall: great park and great day.

Monday we went to Animal Kingdom. Again, got there at 8:30 but the lines were insane at the gate! You could not get even close to the actual area and it eventually took 20 minutes to get in. We got our FP for the safari and made our way to Conservation Station. Really, this is a poorly done area of AK. The rest of the day we had to fight the crowds and the heat - it was much worse. The kids enjoyed Dinoland and PW was a big hit. We left mid-afternoon. Tips: People, this park is not exciting enough to be piling up first thing in the morning.

That night we had dinner at 1900 Park Fare. It is a buffett at the GF hotel and we had Winnie and Friends. The food was great but the noise was annoying. We had to practically yell at each other at our own table. If you plan on going, keep that in mind.

Tuesday we went to Epcot. Again, arriving at 8:30 and hubby makes mad dash for FP at TT. Then we walk over to an empty JII and ride for the first time! We had the entire ride to ourselves. It is such an improvement over the last effort and the ending is really "magical". A must see. The rest of the day was fun and exciting and educational. I love Epcot and this day was no different. We had cloud cover the entire time so that made it all the more tolerable!

Wednesday we went to MK! Now, we made a mistake. See, we used to only stay on property and would take the bus to the gate. We took our car this time and had to wait until precisely at 9:00 to even be allowed on the monorail. Big mistake. We should have arrived at 9:30 to not have to deal with the pushing and shoving of the crowds. Or, I think we could have parked at the resorts and used another method of transportation. MK was a blast! The weather was tough again and we left mid-day.

We had such a wonderful time. I really am ready to go back. My husband thinks I am insane but I don't care. Oh, and for some reason, we just got our emails from Epcot today - June 11th!

If anyone has questions, please let me know! :) :) :) :)

Fifi,

Great report! Hey, were you trying to avoid us? :D

We agree about JIYI. I know this is sacrilege, but I don't remember the original version at all. My youngest and I rode the "tainted" version several times on our last trip while she napped.

The new version, though, was excellent. Including the line area, which is almost like a pre-show.

Tips, though, for those with young kids: My 2-year old was freaked out by some of the loud sounds, but she loved Figment!

Bruce

Great report Cinderallafifi. I am glad that you guys had a good time. So what did you think of the Disney service, I have heard some complaints that service is going down hill?

Donna B - I did not see a downturn in the Disney service, I am happy to report! :)

Bruce - no, we were not trying to avoid you at all - in fact, I was searching the hats for that "special" logo...:D

Our experience with the lines was different. We got to the parks on average 9:30 to 10 AM, and we never had more then a few people ahead of us. The security bag search was brisk too.
