Start VMK now or at Park?

My DD wants to start playing VMK now but we are having trouble getting started. I was wondering if it might be better to wait until we get to the park next week and let her be "born at the park"! Do you think it is worth it to wait and maybe get some help getting started? Or do you think we should start up now so we have some idea of what we are doing so we can do the in park quests and maybe the tour?

I would do it at the park. You start out with Mickey Ears, which are in demand, and you will have someone standing there that can help you if needed.

I think you can spend 5 minutes in the game and get enough info to do a quest. If you need more help on VMK, check out our sister site:

I am curious what is VMK exactly. I was in the parks about a month ago and went in a shop where people were playing VMK. What is the hype about?

In park for sure, plus you can do the quests and tours while you are there.

And yes, Mickey ears are a must have item.

Start him off at the park. It just seems right.

I'm quite computer literate, and I've tried VMK.... just can't do it. I don't know what to do or where to go.

VMK is a free on-line game that is in the parks and on the computer. I would say to make the character in Disney World and make sure you don't trade the mickey ears away. Also while at the parks make sure to buy your gold ears and you'll get a pair for your character. There are also other stores like Sir Mickey's- buy a t-shirt and get one for your character, Trading Post- the candy shop you can get a penny press and buy a pin and get a pin for your character. And if you buy a picture at Splash Mountain or Buzz Lightyear you get a WANTED picture to out in your guest room in VMK. ( WANTED posters are very valuable so don't trade them away.) I hope this helps and I didn't ramble to much! Oh and one maore thing make sure to do the quests so that you can do the VMK Insider Tour.

I'm glad I'm not the only one! My DD is dying to figure it out but I talked her into waiting until we get to the park. Hopefully someone there will explain it!

Thanks snow'sfriend, I will try to get the Golden Mickey ears and now I'll have a good excuse to buy the photo on splash mountain. I already printed the tomorrowland quest and hope we get to do the tour!
