I just wanted to let anyone know who's thinking about getting a Disney Visa that those reward points add up fast. I was just looking at my statement and I've only been using my card since January and I already have $57 in rewards. Now, I know that's not that much but for the 4 of us it's almost a character meal!!
I've been disappointed in no double or triple rewards yet. And the whole thing of a better Fairytale offer to NEW cardholders and not those of us who already had one was a downer. But there are coupons and other offers that come in my statement. This month there was a $2 off one for a "ballerina princess" that my DD has been eyeing at the Disney Store for her B-day and a $3 off 2 Disney music CDs. Not that much alone either but $5 bucks is $5 bucks that I can spend on other stuff for DD or on Disney Dollars for the trip. I DO pay my balance off each month and I charge everything that can be charged - groceries, gas, doctor bills, phone bill, WalMart, Disney Store (I bought more Disney Dollars today there) even building supplies at Lowes and Home Depot. So I really just wanted to say if you use it right and pay it off monthly you can earn a few extra bucks for your Disney Vacation. And they have in the past offered discounts off room only rates and Mickey just posted $25 in Disney Dollars if you use it to book the new 5 +2 deal for July-Nov. So there's plenty of incentive to go for it if you were thinking about it.

Re: Thinking of a Disney Visa?
I thought i read a promotion that they were having for the next few months that you get double points on gas and groceries. i can't keep track what goes for what I just trust my acct is being credited and I am like you I pay it off every month. I would be in trouble if I didn't

Yes, they do add up! I started using mine a few months ago for everything. I have about $150. Hope to get enough to pay for a good portion of my resort for next March 2005!

Re: Thinking of a Disney Visa?
Wow, I bet those DO add up fast! I wish I had a Disney Visa...::pout:: but I can't get one for a while. (I made the mistake of applying for some stupid Bank One card that was way out of my reach a few months ago, and since I got rejected I can't apply for another six months!)

Oh well, we'll have a head start on saving rewards for the next trip We also have well over $50 already, so I'm hoping to get a couple of meals out of it. I also charge EVERYTHING I can and pay it off each month. Another tip if you have a Discover card, I used to use that for everything until I got my Disney card last fall. I had a few hundred dollars racked up in my Discover Cashback Bonus, so I finally had them send me a check and I took it all and bought Disney dollars with it to use for spending money at the parks. So...my Discover card actually ended up being a Disney rewards card, too!

Re: Thinking of a Disney Visa?
You can also go online to view your rewards points and to redeem them (have them added to your rewards card).

Re: Thinking of a Disney Visa?
Just an FYI...the double points promotion is selective. It does NOT apply to everyone (I'm one of the ones excluded) From what I read on another board, it also has different spending requirements. If you didn't get the notice from Bank One, you should call them to verify that it pertains to you. (Don't want to make plans with promo points you won't get)

Re: Thinking of a Disney Visa?
hi there,
Over here in the uk we have nothing like a Disney Visa scheme but would dearly love to get my hands on one....think of the rewards.....esp with my shopping!!!!! Any chance that one of you could e-mail the Credit crad company and ask them if they have any plans in releasing a Disney Credit card over in here, sometime in the future? I am sure they would have many customers. Thanks guys ![]() |

Re: Thinking of a Disney Visa?
Welcome to DC! I see you're in Glendale Hts., I'm right in Schaumburg. We just got back from Disney a few weeks ago. Disney Visa is a Visa card issued by Bank One. When you charge things on it, you receive rewards (typically 1%) that can be used for Disney purchases. Are you leaving on the 30th of this month? If so, you wouldn't really have time to accumulate rewards for this trip, but it might be something you'll want to consider for a future trip. If you have a Disney Visa and charge a lot throughout the year, you can accumulate a lot of credit to use as spending money on an upcoming trip. We used our Disney Visa for about 6 months and had over $100 in rewards to spend on our trip, which certainly came in handy (of course, you need to be disciplined enough to pay your Visa bill in full each month or the finance charges would offset the rewards!) Have a great trip!

Re: Thinking of a Disney Visa?
We also put everything on the card & pay it off at the end of the month. That includes DD's college tuition! We use up all our reward $$ a couple times a year, but for our DL trip in May it paid for our Vineyard Room dinner as well as our dinner at Blue Bayou. And now I have $71 already towards our Christmas trip. Like other folks have said, however, you need to be disciplined enough to pay it off every month. I just keep track of our spending in Quicken so I always know where we are.
