MapleLeaf vs. Disney for tickets

I just got off of the phone with Mapleleaf and with the exception of one of the tickets I was interested in, Disney was cheaper than Mapleleaf. When I asked about this, he said that sometimes Disney runs a special and that presently I would be better off getting my tickets from Disney. As fas as I know, this is Disney's normal pricing, not a special. BTW, this was purchasing Disney's tickets in advance, not at the gate.

It broke down like this:

4 day Park Hopper
-Disney--215.13(adult)/172.53(child)
-Mapleleaf--222/179

5 day Park Hopper
-Disney--244.95/195.96
-Mapleleaf--249/203

5day Park Hoppr Plus
-Disney--275.80(adult)
-Mapleleaf--266/215

Prices for both Disney and Mapleleaf included tax.

We are not going until the end of Sept. so I will check back with Mapleleaf closer to that time and see if their prices come down. I don't know how much they fluctuate if at all.

I was surprised. If you were planning on using Mapleleaf for an upcoming visit, be sure to check the prices at Disney and don't just assume Mapleleaf will be cheaper. As of now, it looks like I will be purchasing our tix from the Disney store

Re: MapleLeaf vs. Disney for tickets

I am glad to see that Maple leaf was doing the right thing and telling you the cheapest way to go. That's good business even if they are more money. Thansk for the heads up. I am getting mine for my DBF and his son through Mousketrips at the WDW price, but it's good to know that I won't be paying more that way. Thanks Dana!

Re: MapleLeaf vs. Disney for tickets

Disneydana,

Two thoughts:

Did you think about purchasing 7 Day PH+ tickets. Even from Disney these are only approx. $60 more for the adult and you get two extra days in the parks plus two extra pluses (like the water parks) which is quite a bargain. Also they never expire so if you go every year or every other it really makes sense.

Also, you can try hotwire savings club. There is a post in the Buget forum about 5 down with some info. I think we are going to order from there this week becuase the discount is too good to pass up.

You know, I've never thought of that. I guess I tend to think in the box and only think about what we will use for our upcoming trip. I'll check into it because I know we'll go again within a year or two. Thanks for the tip. I'll check out the hotwire savings club as well.

Re: MapleLeaf vs. Disney for tickets

Dana,
For us Maple Leaf was the way to go last December. Our Disney store added 6% sales tax onto the price of the park hoppers, whereas Maple Leaf already included the tax. I saved about 100 dollars buying from Omar. We live in Pennsylvania so I do not know if this is the difference or not.

FYI - I just got my PH+ tickets from Hotwire Savings Club and they look just like those from WDW. Check it out. We saved a bunch.

Someone said that Hotwire had a good deal on tickets. I went to Hotwire.com and they don't sell them. Did I miss something? Please help. Thanks.

I am not 100% sure but I think you have to join hotwire in order to see the prices for the disney tickets. They usually offer a trial membership. I did that once for an upcoming trip but ended up not ordering from them and I had no problems cancelling before the trial was up. Hope this helps.

Aggie 10,

Yes, you need to join to see the prices. I am a member but will be cancelling soon since I got my tickets already from them. If you have a particular ticket that you are interested in let me know and I will check the prices and post it.

Re: MapleLeaf vs. Disney for tickets

Thanks kphil89 and skwak. We're looking at the 6 and/or 7 day park hopper tickets. Skwak, if you could provide those prices, that would be great. We're also looking at a 6 day UPH, but I wasn't sure if you had to go through Disney for UPH's. That is so bizarre. I emailed the customer service department for Hotwire.com about Disney World tickets and they acted like I was crazy. I joined, but I didn't see the option to sign up for a fee membership, and I didn't provide (nor was I was requested to provide) any billing information. Thanks for being so cool about it. You can tell, I'm kind of new to this. Thanks a lot!!!

Re: MapleLeaf vs. Disney for tickets

OK here is the deal:

To get to the site it is www.hotwiresavingsclub.com.

The do not have UPH. I think you can only get these from WDW.

They do not have park hoppers.

They do carry park hopper plus tickets. The prices (adult/child) are below:

4 Day PHP $209/$168
5 Day PHP $248/$199
6 Day PHP $276/$221
7 Day PHP $303/$243

(I round to the whole number).

Hope this helps.
