Cheap airline tickets

hey everyone I was checking out tickets for my DMIL to come visit DD. and I found great news for you if you are planning a quick short notice p to WDW. Southwest has some great fares (check out systemwide savings) out there for orlando and surrounding airports. Travel must be completed by Aug 16. and you must buy by Aug 1st. I could fly from Omaha for $59 each way. It is making me think mabey I should go again even though we just went in June.
Just thought that I would share this with everyone...hopefully someone can use this info for a spur of the mouse, I mean minute, trip.

Re: Cheap airline tickets

There seems to be price war right now. We just got tickets on Spirit Airlines out of Detroit (direct flight) for $57 each way. Three round trip tickets for $402.60 total (taxes, fees, etc. included). We couldn't afford to drive at that price. (Think 20 hours in a car with a 2 year old...)

Re: Cheap airline tickets

I just bought tickets for our flight down in December on JetBlue.

I had an $80 credit with them, so after taxes and spplied credit, the total for four one-way tickets came to ....

$190.40!!!!

Can ya tell I'm excited??

Re: Cheap airline tickets

I'm still waiting for Southwest to accept reservations for January and it doesn't look like it is going to happen anytime soon. What is the hold-up? With the pricing war that is going on, I may be tempted to book with someone else. I am buying my airfare on August first regardless.....lowest prices I can get.

Dana I would go on and book with US Airways. They have their new GoFares and right now have a special from Philly. For any date in January you can go for $176.70. I think that is pretty good. I just priced out Southwest for December and they have the exact same price of $176.70. I would go ahead and book US Airways, just because it will make you feel better about your trip. By the way, if the fare does go down on US Airways just call them and tell them that and they will issue a voucher good for a discount on a future flight.

That's exactly how I got an $80 credit with JetBlue. Last time, I made reservations for tix, the price went down $20 / ticket about 2 weeks later. So I called and they gave me a credit on my account. When I bought the tix this morning, I was able to apply the credit. Real easy.

To each his own, everyone needs to cheer for someone. It wouldnt be any fun if there was no one to cheer against.

Gawd let's not get into this here (My in-laws-in-laws are Nittany Lions -- it hurts, it really hurts) Solich was fired because he was a poor recruiter, settled for seconds and thirds instead of going after top recruits.

Re: Cheap airline tickets

My vote is wait for southwest. who knows what usair will do. watch the minute southwest comes out usair will lower their fares. we usually go southwest but delta song had better times and of course i was to anxious and bought them at a higher price then when southwest came out. we did get a credit but i doubt i will use song again. i like southwest jetblue and any of the other low fare carriers due to the fact that they rarely cut out flights like delta does and the service is much better. by the way independence air not sure if they go to orlando but i hear they are really good. they have great rates as well.
