I've never read the UGWDW but you guys are starting to convince me to go out and buy it before my trip. I've always been a Birnbaum fan and collect all of his books. So, my question is for those of you who have both, would the UGWDW have info that I don't have in my Birnbaum books? Let me know if I should go on a search!

The Birnbaum books are the official guides of WDW, so they tend to leave out a lot of the secrets and bad things, while the UGWDW has great insight and gives things to avoid as well as things to not miss. For our family, it is the first book we buy when planning a trip.

Thanks Mmouse... I'm sorry, I didn't realize IMG tag was turned off... sorry for the link.
Glad you like it though, and yeah, if Mickey wants it, he's more than welcome to it!

As a logistician, I can tell you that book is the logistician's dream to seeing WDW. Ride capacities, average queue lengths (incl. assumptions) - :D . It's great - I buy one every year just as habit.
I've decided to use the Passporter this time, and most members of my group seem to like it better. My wife finds it easier to read than the UG, and my mom thinks it's a little more practical.

Ok, you guys are killing me. I just keep adding to my shopping list... now the Passport! If I had to pick only one of those, which one and why? I feel like I know WDW pretty well but when it comes to planning I can't get enough. I am a book person too! Going shopping tomorrow and I guess I'll just have to get them both.

Ok, I bought my UGWDW today so guess what I'll be reading for the next week?! Walden Books didn't have the Passporter. I just looked at the link on the home page and yikes... $86. It must be really good. We'll be passing on that one this trip but am curious to see what it is like. From what I've read so far the UGWDW is great. Thanks everybody!

I only paid $21.99 plus tax for Passporter. $86? My god what is it, the 14 kt gold version....I wouldn't have paid that either. Read the UGWDW. You will enjoy it. The passporter is a guide book/ keepsake with places to write your PS's and phone #'s of hotels, reservation number etc. For someone like me who manages to lose everything, this is the ideal thing to take to WDW...as long as I don't lose that..:laugh :laugh They even have pockets for each day and I have my alotted amount of Disney Dollars for each day in each pocket. It also fits perfectly into my backpack I bought to bring with me. You are going in like days DAb, I am sooo jealous. Have a great trip!

Sorry about that link for the Passporter. It appears that Amazon no longer has any stock of the deluxe version, which includes a planner. Someone is selling it used for $86.60, I guess waiting for a sucker to come along. I will fix the link today.

I've never bought any of the official guides, and am curious as to what the difference is between the actual books and the online guides. Can anyone help me out?
