Unofficial Guide to WDW

I just wanted everyone to know that the 2003 version of the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World, and the Unofficial Guide to Disneyland will be released on August 15, 2002. You can order them by clicking on their picture on the front page, or by clicking below. These are both indespensible books, and the foundation of all my Disney travelling.

By the way, if you are interested, the 2003 Birnbaum will be released in October, 2002.

Mickey, thanks so much!! I think I'll send a copy to my son in California and daughter in Florida. They've never been to WDW and will be going there for the first time with us in Dec. I think this will be a great gift and hopefully get them as excited about going as I am.

We used the 2002 version in July, and the daily planners were a constant help. It's a great guide, and we will surely use it again when we get around to planning our next trip.:D :)

Thanks, Mickey!
Having recruited most of my friends & family members as Disney addicts, they now expect this book from me every Christmas! :)

Mickey, I went to look for this at Walden books in my area mall and they still had 2002 and told me they didn't receive the new one yet. What's up with that? I wanted to read the new one before my trip. I can't order it because I don't do the credit card thing. Any hints to other places I can find it? I enjoy reading his comments..,he's commical really.. Do you know when the new Passporter is due to come out? That is my ultimate favorite.

I saw it at Barnes and Noble the other day, you could try there. I heard that the Passporter isn't coming out until November sometime.

Mickey, I tried looking, but I would think the 2003 Passporter won't be out until...oddly enough...2003. The 2002 version came out in March 2002. The "lateness" of publication allows them to be a little more up-to-date with their info...for example, they were the only guide that I read for 2002 that contained information about the cutbacks.

Of course, as usual, I could be wrong... :)

I just wanted to ask: why does it feel like Christmas when you get a new Disney guidebook?

I know the feeling of anticipation and excitement when I'm waiting for the new edition to come out, that's why it feels like Christmas to me, plus we'll be going to WDW in December! I just can't wait till the new book comes out and you get to read and look for new information, changes, reviews, etc.

I ordered 3 of the UGWDW books from Walden's (2 for family members), went to pick them up the day they called, and opened them up as soon as I got to my car. I was so excited!! There I noticed they were 2003 edition for Disneyland and not WDW. I was so upset and disappointed. I went right back in the store. They took them back but said WDW's book must be very popular because they were on back order and would take anywhere from 2 weeks to 3 months to get. I thanked them but said I couldn't wait that long. I went to my car and called Borders, they said they had 3 on the shelf and I was there in 20 minutes and had them in hand. Of course I didn't get my 10% discount like I would have at Walden's but I did have the books that same day. Well worth it!!:D

That's a very cute smile animation! Maybe Mickey can add it to our selection?

We will be looking for the new guide soon.:) Hopefully planning a Disneyland and DisneyWorld trip next year. Which reminds me, how is the unofficial Disneyland guide? Is it worth picking one up for that trip?
