If I make airline reservations now for my summer disney trip and then a fare sale comes along can I get a credit for the difference that I paid? Has anyone else ever tried this? We are thinking of using southwest airlines and it seems like most of the time the fares are nonrefundable or the fee to change them seems like a lot of money. I would like to reserve seats now, but the prices aren't great and I think there probably will be a summer sale. What to do,what to do......

Hi Karlie:

I've done this a handful of times. Simply call the airline and they'll issue you a credit towards a future purchase. Most airlines will provide credits that are good for about a year.

JetBlue has a great policy where your credits are attached to your TrueBlue account and you can simply apply them when you make your next purchase.

As a result of credits that I got, I've got incredibly great rates on our trip mext month.

I thought SW issued flight credits too, but my friend just got a refund check for the difference when her flight price went down. Perhaps the difference has to do with availability?
