"Quick & Casual" Meal Vouchers (via Connections)
Since I know that there are still lots of folks interested in the meal vouchers available from savings clubs (and, buyer beware!, auction sites), I thought that I'd update this info. At the time I wrote my original post, the only 'legit' place to purchase these vouchers was Connnections123. However, they are now sold at several venues (some ticket agencies, HotwireSavingsClub, etc.) The cost per voucher has increased slightly (For instance, the Q&C costs $11.50 instead of $11.00. I still think that they are a good savings tool when visiting WDW though. Just do your homework!)
Just want to share my experience with the Quick & Casual Vouchers (By the way, if you are not familiar with this program, you can find out about it in great detail here: PS: Note that the Kitchen Sink is no longer available with the voucher, (End of edit.) . . . I used four of them last week at Beaches and Cream (the fun restaurant at The Beach Club Resort). They cost me $11 each (price includes tax and tip, too) and our bill would have been $96.00 plus tip! So, for a total of $44.00, we all received hearty mid-day meals. Each one of us did not order the most expensive things on the menu either. One child did order a "Kitchen Sink" (Needless to say, she only put a dent in it even with the help of the rest of us!), but one of us didn't order any dessert at all. So, the bill could have been higher if each of us had ordered all that was allowed! We ate a light snack later in the evening because we still weren't hungry for a meal up to bedtime even though we had the earlier meal around 1:30 in the afternoon. BTW, I used another voucher on another day at Pinocchio's Village Haus in the Magic Kingdom. I chose not to use vouchers for each of us because most of the meals added up to less than the $11.00 that each voucher costs. Also, the service is cafeteria- style, so no gratuity was needed. The reason I used one of the vouchers is I ordered Figaro Fries (bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomato) $3.09, Monstro's Turkey Sandwich (with chips) $7.09, Brownie $1.79, and a fat free (sure!) milkshake $2.99. It all cost more than $15 with tax (about a 33% savings).Last edited by lopo; 08-07-2004 at 10:11 AM. Reason: UPDATED info |

I have read about this and I'm interested in Getting a couple of them. But don't want to join the "club" in order to get them.. Anyone a member that would get them for me and I could send the money to???
Just sounds like they are the thing to do for the Beaches and Cream places.. Thanks for post about them. i'm glad that you feel they were a good deal for the most part. Lisa :)

Wow! MickeyMac, I did not know that there were vouchers available for CRT!
Scanlonsgirl, unfortunately I am no longer a member of Connections or I would buy you some vouchers. I do not think that there are any limits on the number one can purchase, so I think if you can locate an active member, you should be able to get some through the member. BTW, the vouchers that I purchased expire early (March?) next year so one isn't able to stockpile. Darn! |

Yeah, I was surprised by that as well. I didn't see it on the list of restaurants.
Scanlonsgirl - they have a 30 day trial period - you just have to make sure you cancel within the time period or you will get charged the annual fee.

Trial Period
Although I did not have any trouble canceling my membership during the trial period, I have heard several 'horror' stories relating to this.
If you wanted to give it a try, I would sign up and not wait to receive the welcome package in the mail. You will receive a membership # as soon as you sign up (either on-line or via telephone), and you can use that # to order the vouchers right away. That way, you will be sure to receive your vouchers prior to the trial deadline. In fact, you just pay for the vouchers outright with your credit card and you do not have to worry about the kickback they offer members on most of the other purchases you can make. (For instance, if you wanted to order gift certificates to restuaurants, you would place your order and pay the full amount of the actual face value of the certificates ordered, say $100 for ten $10 Olive Garden certificates. Then, Connections credits your credit card account at a later date with the 20% savings they offer. In other words, you'd receive a $20 credit on your bill usually in the next month.) |

I just signed up for Connections. I'm taking lopo's advice and trying to get my vouchers asap - before the 30 days are up. lopo is right - you can go right in and start spending! It turns out that you can access your membership with connections through, what looks to me to be, a parent site http://www.dealpass.com - then you are directed to connections, or I guess you can just bypass that if you go directly to the connections site to log-in. What I'm trying to say is some other clubs use dealpass.com as well. Simple Escapes - for example is the one dealpass will send you to sign up for if you click on the entertainment category - that one is $139.00 a year. And we thought $89.00 was steep. :wow:
Anyway, there I am looking for the vouchers. I click on Walt Disney World Resorts on the left hand side guide section (after I clicked on Attractions on a top tab). I get the page - no links on the page. What I didn't notice is that the left hand side guide had changed and now had categories underneath Walt Disney World Resort. Ah, but I noticed the second time - I had to come back to that page - no where else to go. Something to note - Purchases are limited to 40 certificates per member family per membership year. BUT I'm not sure if that is only for one category. (Perhaps you could buy 40 Quick and Casual, 40 Vacation Kingdom Lunch adult, etc.) or includes all vouchers. Someone more adventurous with more money than me can try that.. :laugh No indication of when the expiration date will be. I'll post that when I get them. The page you pay on, they let you enter a different credit card. You don't have to get it on the same card that you registered connections with and you can use a different name too (you know, put it on your spouses card - kidding! kidding! I'm kidding). You have no choice in that the tickets will be sent to the address of the member and they assume the address of the member is the same for the credit card. (You can't buy for other people by using their card, the address won't match up) Which reminds me, I forgot to mention that you agree with terms and conditions that you will only use the vouchers with immediate family. They'll find you if you sell on Ebay (I made that up about Ebay, that's not in there. I'm joking guys! Well, I mean, maybe they WILL find you - but it's not in writing..:) ) I would offer to purchase for people but my husband would be..how do I put this.. not happy.. with me. :devil I'm sorry. The only other thing that struck me - in an odd way - was there was no confirmation number for my purchase. We'll see what happens, huh? Hope this info helps! ![]() P.S. I just bought some AMC tickets too. (There are other theatres available also) You can buy maximum - 10 a day. And maximum 100 total a year. $4.50 a ticket and you just can't see any movie the first 10 days it's out. That's not bad! If the passes don't have $4.50 printed on them, I'm going to consider giving some as gifts! Last edited by Sheryl; 11-07-2002 at 08:28 PM. |

Sheryl, I just signed up too. :D I'm still trying to figure out how many vouchers to get total. I have a friend who said its 40 per category per year. I'm going to phone in our order tomorrow. My friend said she got her order within a week. Since we leave in two, I need to get my act in order... :p

Hey MickeyMac! As far as the website goes, it said under Shipping Details (or something close) that if your order is over $50.00 that they would send priority mail, but if it was under $50.00 they wouldn't (expect 7-10 days I think it said). I'm sorry I don't remember exactly, my short term memory is ..um...short! ;)
You know what was weird too... no shipping cost. Guess it's included in membership! ![]() P.S. Inquiring minds (me!) want to know how many rings it takes for them to answer the phone..:p Last edited by Sheryl; 11-07-2002 at 08:54 PM. |

Q&C vouchers
Hi,
I found out about Q&C's after looking on ebay but what a rip off then found mouse savers which is the greatest anyway, you join connections for a 30 day trail membership which costs $1.00. Listed under attractions to to disneyworld then meals. They sell Q&C lunch/dinner vouchers for $11.00 each and you may buy up to 40 per year. Also sell breakfast vouchers for $17.50 adult and $12.50 child cheif mickeys and character on listed restraunts. Also selling lunch vouchers for &29.00 adult for nice dining lik rain forest etc.. They do expire in March 2003. For orders over $50.00 free expree shipping I got mine in 2 days. I had no problems canceling trail membership which I started 10/12/02 and just ended 11/4/02. (although maybe not enought time for problems yet) Also they were/are selling disney hoppers at really good prices Hope this helps I so glad to see people are able to use then with no worries hubby, son, daughter and I will be there in January!!!!:D |

Beware!!
I did the same thing, joined and cancelled before the 30 day trial period was up, and they still charged me $80!! I called one week after I had joined and told them I wanted to cancel she said 'no problem' and after she got through taking the information she said to thank me for at least trying the program they wanted to send me some cable TV vouchers. I said ok but I am cancelled, right? She said 'of course'. Low and behold my next cc statement came and there was the $80 charge. When I called them they said 'Oh, it says here that you just talked about cable vouchers not cancellation' I did recieve a credit eventually but it tied up $80 on my cc for a few months PLUS just the fact that they were so sleazy!!:madmad The kicker was that we had not even ordered any vouchers for anything because it just didn't work for us when we sat down and figured it out.

elfmaydn, that does sound sleazy! I have heard previously of people that encountered problems in canceling membership before the trial period ended, but I had no problem (either time.) Overall, I liked the offerings from Connections although I did think that some things (the annual membership fee, for one) were overpriced and/or not defined clearly,

Yikes elfmaydn! Thanks for posting a beware!! I don't pick up the phone anymore for telemarketers for that very reason..it's like if you just say "hello", suddenly you've said, "Whatever it is you are selling, I want it, I can't live without it! Not only am I going to verify my address but you can have the last 4 digits of my credit card too! Bill me today! Ship it today! I want it! I want it! I want it!!!"
Or like in your case... having a difficult time getting the charge taken off. The only reason I decided to gamble with this company is because there was an address in the Terms and Conditions where it said you could send a cancellation. If it would have only listed the phone number, I wouldn't have "bit". I do have a plan of attack - one part was to re-call and verify that I was cancelled after I called to cancel. After reading your post I might reconsider that. I don't want them to say I rejoined. My plan is to send two certified letters on the same day to: Membership Services P.O. Box 24311 Omaha, Nebraska 68124-031 and also to (couldn't hurt!): Connections P.O. Box 24128 Omaha, NE 68124-0128 Both saying that effective that day I have cancelled my membership. Since reading your post I might add something to the effect that "This communication supercedes any other previous or future communication regarding cancellation of my trial membership that began on such and such a date. I understand I have effectively cancelled my membership on such and such a date and the date of cancellation falls within my 30 day trial period. I understand that owe $1.00, etc. etc." (I'll figure out a better way to word all that). For the second general address I will just have a cc for them so they can see I sent it to the first (right) address and they are simply getting a copy (via certified mail as well) Now, here is something interesting!! I just discovered this in my attempt to get you a link to the terms and conditions. The first address above IS the cancellation address, but you will NOT find that address anywhere on Connections website. You were routed through another website when you signed up.. it was membershipme.com NOTE - New potential members, do not sign up via membershipme because if you do it's 139.95 per year instead of 89.95 (just visit if you want to look at their website) I tried to link to the terms and conditions provided at membershipme. But it is only accessible on the second sign-up page - the first sign-up page requests your name and address information. But the link is at the bottom of the second sign-up page - (the one where you give your phone number at the top and then your credit card number). So you CAN see it before you give your credit card number. I'm going to copy the Terms and Conditions I received when I signed up in the next post. Connections conveniently leaves the first address above off their website (completely) if you ever make it to any terms and conditions page they have listed - it will not be there. At any rate.. I plan to call, send two certified letters, and an email to membershipservices@connections123.com Every time I refer to the membership, I'm going to say "trial membership" just to help make it more clear that I never actually signed up for a "yearly" membership. I'll do the cancellation (all methods) on the same day - just to make that clear too. As you can tell, I have invested quite a bit of $$ (understatement) in "Why they didn't cancel your membership" Class 101. (And "Who ordered these magazines", and "Why is a person from my credit card company calling and asking for my credit card number, shouldn't they already know that?" etc., etc) I guess after a while you become so jaded you have a sense of humor about it. I don't mean to make light of your situation if it seems like I am because I'm joking around. It's the opposite. It is good to know they did eventually give your money back - still.. As for my fate with cancellation - I'll know in less than a month! Wish me luck! :weird: Last edited by Sheryl; 11-08-2002 at 01:22 PM. |
