Meal Vouchers Help

Anyone knows where I can buy more premium lunch and character breakfast vouchers? I've checked ebay and the prices are getting a little out of hand for the breakfast vouchers. We still need 2 more premium and 6 breakfast. I wanted to get everything done, at least 2 weeks before we leave. I have the hotwire membership, but they are out and I'm hearing that they may not offer anymore

Re: Meal Vouchers Help

Disney is no longer producing the meal vouchers. Everywhere that sold them before has stopped selling them. With the prices on ebay, I would just forget it and pay for the meals, it would be cheaper.

Re: Meal Vouchers Help

Thanks Mickey,

That's what I figured I would do, just to be safe. We already have the majority of vouchers that we need. I went ahead and bid on vouchers, anyways.

Re: Meal Vouchers Help

Hi. I'm new here so please be patient with me . . .
So how much is too much to spend on vouchers from ebay? We are planning a spring trip and thought a long time about the meal plan vs. vouchers and thought we'd go with the vouchers. But we don't want to spend more than what we'd spend on meals. Can someone give us some advice?
Thanks.

Re: Meal Vouchers Help

Hi Sparks welcome to Disney Central..The vouchers on ebay usually go for more money that the people bought them for. I wouldn't spend no more than 10 bucks each. They use to be sold on hotwire for about 11.50. If you choose to buy them on there just becareful. They could be fakes.

Here's a web site with all the meal menus and such. Take a look at it and it will give you some input to what your gonna spend. Hope it helps.

Re: Meal Vouchers Help

Thank you. I will take all the help I can get. It's hard planning a trip like this when you have a budget to stay within. We are a family of three, my husband who enjoys eating, my son who is 8 and would like to try everything he sees but fills up quickly, and me. I'm happy doing whatever. I can't begin to guess how much to budget for food!

Re: Meal Vouchers Help

$10???? There aren't any under $15 and most are closer to $20 each. I'm guessing I should forget about ebay? Is there anywhere else to purchase them? I've read the threads about the meal plan and that doesn't sound like such a great deal either. Sounds like we just have to set a budget and go with it.

Re: Meal Vouchers Help

sparks, welcome to DC! Basically, I agree with your "Sounds like we just have to set a budget and go with it." at this time since the Disney meal vouchers are no longer being sold (unless you make a deal with someone who already has them.) I shy away from purchasing these on EBay, although I know that there are many folks who love it.

I have been an avid fan of the vouchers and used them on every trip over the last few years. Although once in a while I just "broke even" when I used a voucher, the majority of the time I got a lot more for my money spent on the voucher when I redeemed it at one of the sites that accepted it. I used all three types and, in my opinion, the best value available for the amount paid was in this order: Premium dinner, Quick & Casual, and Breakfast. However, I think that as long as I didn't lose any money when I used a voucher, I was "making out" because I had paid for the vouchers ahead of my trip so that was money I didn't have to worry about having/spending when I actally was at WDW.

For now, perhaps you should just try to budget your food dollars since you are traveling in the spring. Some of the legitimate venues may begin selling them again, but the group I deal with told me that the vouchers ahve simply been suspended "for now" and there wasn't any additional info at this time.

Re: Meal Vouchers Help

Has anyone used the vouchers since the new plan went into effect? I am getting worried about them being accepted.

Re: Meal Vouchers Help

Since the vouchers do not actually expire until May 31, 2005, I expect that the listed food service venues will accept them until that time.

Re: Meal Vouchers Help

can I just say that Im feeling real happy that I have my vouchers for the meals we dont have any more wishes for? We bought them back in Nov and now Im so glad to have them!!!!! I even got the $10 rebate check from hotwire already.

Welcome Sparks
I would suggest looking into the cheaper of the two meal plans- its a pretty affordable way to eat and have it all paid for before you get there- Or just pay for the meals as you go so that you are not so constricted. We did the silver plan and vouchers for the kids where we had planned their wishes for the adults. As far as things go - they are honoring the vouchers and wishes as if they had not changed since we booked it before the changes.

There are two meal plans? I guess I haven't done as much homework as I thought I did. Thank you so much, everyone, for your input!
