Annual Passholder discounts

Are there any other discounts available to AP besides a possible room discount? If so, what are they?

Do you think it is worth it to purchase an AP just for the discounts?????

If I purchase one, we're going to try to go again before it expires. But I don't want to buy one and feel like I have to make another trip to make it worthwhile. I'm hoping to get a great room discount to justify the purchase.

Tell me what you think.

Well I bought them mainly because we were taking a long trip this time and at the time it was the best option compared to park hopper passes. And of course being able to go back on the same pass was nice also. Now with the Magic Your Way plans, the APs don't make as much sense if you don't get discounts. For this trip we did receive discounts with the AP but now it is unclear what discounts will be in the future.

Re: Annual Passholder discounts

AP holders are now supposed to be eligible for the Disney Dining Experience, which was previously for Fla res only. For a reduced fee to join (50 instead of the usual $75), AP holders get 20% off meals at Disney table service restaurants (much larger list than Dining Plus package on MYW passes).

Apologies if you already knew this.

Still the very best discount of course would be the room discounts. Maybe Mickey knows more about all this.

Re: Annual Passholder discounts

There are lots of discounts -- see http://allearsnet.com/pl/apass.htm for all the Passholder benefits. You get discounts on dining (even without the Disney Dining Experience), discounts on entry to Pleasure Island, and discounts on shopping (including a 10% discount at World of Disney!!). I think it's worth it to buy the AP for the discounts (my room discounts alone paid for mine on the first trip), but if you can secure an extra visit during the year it never hurts. And remember that the room discounts aren't "guaranteed."
