Re: Really Cheapskate Tip

a. Limit your WDW meals to only hamburgers type of fast food.
b. Bring bread and lunch spreads from home, and make sandwiches for lunch.
c. Make crystal light in small 1 pt. bottled water bottles with twist tops to drink. Ask for cup of ice (free) and then sit down and eat at outdoor tables.
d. Buy souvenirs outside WDW will save a lot of $$.
e. Buying pizza outside WDW will save a lot of $$.
f. Bring wine coolers from home to sip buy the pool.
g. Skip the water parks and any other 'pay extra' parks. Concentrate only those parks you really need to see - MK, Epcot, etc.
h. Do not buy length of stay passes. (may not be as important with the new MYWPs).

Re: Really Cheapskate Tip

O.K.....I admit it.....We stayed at *** 2 time in a row, and we brought all the refillable mugs that we purchased on the 1st trip, and used them on the second.

Also, we bought rain ponchos at Walmart at about a buck a piece for our first trip to the World....we've used the same ponchos the last 3 times!! We finally threw them away this last trip. We sure got our $4 worth!!!

Re: Really Cheapskate Tip

We always make the optional stop at the market prior to our arrival. Milk, coffee, water etc. Saves alot in the long run.

FYI I just called Disney res. yesterday and they are no longer offering Length of Stay passes, but now offer from 1 to 10 days on MYWP.

Do you ask for the ice and the cast member gives it to you? Or do you ask if you can have some from the barrels where they keep drinks cold? We could not find ice to put in our spray bottles during our July trip.

Re: Really Cheapskate Tip

If you ask for a cup of ice or a a cup of ice water at any vendor selling soda (in a cup) they will give you it for free. We save at least $10 per meal by drinking ice water instead of soft drinks.

I can top this one.

We would buy a Gallon, let my son drink what he wanted, then pour the remainder into kid cups with screw on tops. We would then put those in a small cooler we brought with us and fill it with the free ice from the resorts at night and in the morning.

Saves on Milk cost and on fridge rental fees. If all you are needing is Milk, this is the way to go. Obviously a bigger cooler could fit the Gallon container (or two) and the ice is still free.

Just don't leave your cooler unattended at the ice machine. Last time we were there I brought our cooler to the machine for a fill-up, I set it down for a minute to grab the lid which I accidently left in our room. When I returned, the cooler was gone. I found the "spanish speaking" mousekeeper and she had no idea what happened to it. I had to go to the gift shop to buy a new one for nearly $10.

BTW....welcome to DC wdwspider2005. I am sure you will love it here.

Re: Really Cheapskate Tip

Ok, now this is getting me upset. Not to jump on anyone, but I have noticed a lot of people using "Spanish Speaking" CM's. What's wrong with that?? I have not seen any "English Speaking" or "Chinese Speaking" or "German Speaking"

Re: Really Cheapskate Tip

Hey I'm for any CM who is courteous and helpful to me. They often have tough jobs and have to put up with often ungrateful or rude tourists. I imagine most of us thank them every chance we get.

Hey guys thanks for the wonderful response. I am going to take a long look at this thread while planning that July trip to the magic!

Meanwhile if there's more, keep it coming!
