tips on finding cheap flights

ok, if you're planning a trip to WDW or DL or any Disney park or even the cruise but don't want to spend a lot on flights, this is what you do: write a list of all the major airlines that you know (continental, delta, united, etc). find out the local airports in your area. in my case, i have Newark Liberty, JFK, and La Guardia. once you have the list of airlines and airports, start shopping. have a scrap piece of paper with you and write down every price that you come across with every airline and what airport you will be flying out of. i have done this in the past and it has worked out well for us. i have recently done this for my upcoming trip to california.

so, the next time you are planning a trip to go anywhere Disney or even anywhere in general, keep this helpful tip in mind. this will help you save a lot of money in the end.

Re: tips on finding cheap flights

I have done this many times and saved a lot. That's the way I got 3 R/T tickets for a total of $350.00. It usually costs about $600.00 all together cheap.

Re: tips on finding cheap flights

This doesn't work for me. I only have Philly to fly out of....Atlantic city is an hour away. I am SO limited as to who I can fly with now. The only nonstoppers from Philly to Orlando is USairs, United/USairs and Southwest. Not good choices, but who cares as long as I make it to WDW right? yes, I am trying to convince myslef...lol

At least I only have to pay for 3 of those flights. A few years ago we got round trip from St. Louis on AA for $128 each. I know that was a great price but I would love to come close to that. We have not ruled out driving either, it just depends what kind of prices I can find.

I went to a convention in AC about three years ago and we had to fly into Philly and rent a van. Not only it took a while but I think we paid about a dozen tolls (slight exaggeration) on the way. We had to use the restroom at a Burger King and it cost us a quarter just to get back on the highway!!!

Re: tips on finding cheap flights

yeah jersey is crazy with tolls. it's funny how you pay to get out of jersey but not to get in. go figure. it's even funnier with flights but a little different; it's more to fly into jersey than to leave!!

Re: tips on finding cheap flights

while searching for flights for our upcoming trip, i visited every major airline website i know that flies out of newark, jfk and la guardia. flying out of newark was out of the question; the prices were insane for two people. jfk was pretty reasonable and so was la guardia. then i came across song airlines, the airline we used during our last trip. flying out of jfk with song cost significantly less than flying out of newark. i saved us over $200 flying out of JFK instead of newark.

After trying for years to fly out of Newark, I have given up. It is always way more expensive than LGA or JFK!

That is us, too. Only Indianapolis to fly out of! Sometimes you can find good deals though...especially if it's a slow time of year.
