Re: Meal Plan????

Are you talking about the Magic Your Way package plus dining? If so, here's a link that explains it well http://www.mousesavers.com/mywplusdining.html

If you're taking about the Disney Dining Experience for Annual Passholders, that's a card you can purchase for $50 if you're an annual passholder, which gets the cardholder and up to 9 guests a 20% discount on meals at over 80 (?) WDW eating establishments. Very cool -- I'm in line for this one!

Re: Meal Plan????

I've not heard any ringing endorsements for the new plan as of yet.

www.allearsnet.com is always a good place to get info on these kinds of things.

Re: Meal Plan????

If you go to the Disney World site they have a brochure you can download. It cost about $11 a day for child up to age 9 and $35 a day for adults. You can only have this if you stay on property and must be booked for the length of your stay. You get one counter meal,( a combo with drink and dessert) one table meal,( appertizer, meal, drink, dessert and tip) and one snack per person a day. For example to eat at Le Cellier for my family size 2 adults 2 kids cost us $106.24 But on this meal plan you can eat there for your one table meal. You can also trade two table meals to eat at Hoop Dee or American Baraque. And one table meal for a character breakfast. I think its sounds GREAT!!
I am going in the last week in April so I will let you know. I did see someone was going to try it this March hopefully they will tell us all.

Re: Meal Plan????

Isn't Le Cellier two table meals?

Anyway - The plan works great if you've always WANTED to do sitdown dinners every day and couldn't really afford it. I think it opens that opportunity up.
If you do fine on counter service with one big splurge or whatever, then this isn't for you.

Re: Meal Plan????

We're going to use the dining plan in November. It will be great to have everything prepaid and to not worry about what to order, dollar-wise. While they list of participating restaurants is not perfect (many of the Epcot World Showcase ones are third-party owned/managed, and declined participating in the plan at this time), we have more than enough to choose from.

I would suggest you read a great summary of the plan here.

I have read many great reviews about the plan from people who have recently returned from WDW and loved it.

Hope this helps!

Re: Meal Plan????

We're using the plan in April. It appears that it will save us money inasmuch as we spent $90-100 per day on meals for me, DW, & DS last year!

Re: Meal Plan????

BTW, by having lunch as our big sit-down meal, and dinner at a counter service restaurant, we were able to beat the meal plan's rate.
