General Public vs. Annual Pass
I know that the likelyhood of General Public Discount codes are slim to none this year---but as a new annual passholder I have a few questions..
Generally, are the Annual Passholder discounts on rooms better than General public discounts, or are they about the same? I just remember last yr. at Christmas we got a General discount code for POP Century that was about $59 dollars a night....I was just wondering if anyone had any info...thanks!

Re: Genral Public vs. Annual Pass
The one night we stayed at Christmas time,we paid 49 dollars plus tax for PC(12/21). That was either a FL res or AP code,so yes,the FL and AP codes are a bit better than the general public codes.

Re: Genral Public vs. Annual Pass
Hands down the A/P discount is the best out there. Its approx 45% off the rack rate. Then buy the Disney dining experince (D.D.E) membership for $50. a yr and get 20% off at over 80 restaurants throughout "The World".
Two yrs ago we stayed at the "poly" and instead of paying $300 per night it came to $170 per night. Value hotels are $49 per night. check out www.mousesavers.com for more info. ![]()

Re: Genral Public vs. Annual Pass
Yes, I agree the AP discount is better. Last Novemeber we stayed at ASMo & Pop for $55. You can also get 10% discount at World Market place at Downtown Disney, which is always good!

Re: Genral Public vs. Annual Pass
Typically, the discounts are about a $5 per night difference. Not much, and not usually worth buying a pass just to get the room discount, but they are better than general public discounts. However, AP discounts that are coming up here are much less than what were available before, and as was mentioned, there most likely won't be any general public discounts.

It is starting to look like our DVC purchase is a better and better investment. One of the things that I was really hung up one when we were considering the DVC was that there always seemed to be lots of general public discounts. Now that these are drying up it makes the DVC even more interesting. Just thinking out loud. ![]()
