Ap Discounts

Ok..I need some clarification..
Do AP holders get a discount at some restaurants in wdw?
If so..where? And how much?
OR
Do you need to buy the DDE to recieve any type of discount?

I think it's probaly worth the 50 bucks and will pay for itself in one trip BUT I am just hesitent for some reason...

Re: Ap Discounts

Allearsnet has a complete list http://allearsnet.com/pl/apass.htm, but you'll find it's pretty much a 10% LUNCH discount at a few restaurants that you get with just the AP.

However, the AP gets you a discount on the DDE card (Regularly $75, you get it for $50) and that entitles you to 20% off most restaurants....including alcohol!!

Re: Ap Discounts

I am getting an AP and a DDE, because if you plan to go for more than once in a year than it is definitely going to pay for itself. Think about how much lunch or dinner at one of those sit down restaurants is - 20% off of a meal that averages $45 - then that is 9.00 saved. If you do that even 5 moretimes in a trip then the DDE has paid for itself.

The next trip is just extra savings because the card has paid for itself, so now you are putting money back in your pocket for souvenirs and other extras. That's the way I look at it.

Re: Ap Discounts

We chose to go for the DDE, Cinderbella. Having taken two trips already with our APs, we've not used the regular AP food discount yet. We figured we'd use the DDE plenty, though, because it includes so many restaurants 24/7.

Re: Ap Discounts

You can get a letter/temporary card stating that you're a member. In fact, you can probably get the card when you get your AP at Downtown Disney. Just ask the guest relations CM if you can purchase the card from him/her. If not, ask where you can do so.

Re: Ap Discounts

Wow maybe I really should get the DDE. I didn't know it included beer. So can you get a percentage off JUST a beer if you're walking around World Showcase or does it have to be used at a restaurant?

DT.....since you haven't ordered yours yet...maybe you know..how does this temporary card business work if your trip is less than 4-6 weeks away?
