Help.....

My son and I went to WDW last year in May and we will be going again next May. But I'm so forgetful, have the prices inside the park changed much? What should I budget for food? If they still have the package that includes dining its'nt it cheaper to use that than budget for food?

Thanks
Jen

Re: Help.....

Hi jenny...welcome back. The dining plan is an excellent deal. You should book a package with that. DC members are reporting huge savings with that plan. If I am not mistaken it's $35 per day per person. You could easily spend that on one meal. AS for money per day, I try to budget day specific. It takes some research, but I usually get it down to almost the last dollar. Make a plan what you are going to do each day and figure the costs. Always factor in some extra cash for emergencies and special things that may come up. I bring about $250 per day .

Re: Help.....

HA! My parents are going with us for the first time next year. My dad is registered here since I advised him to the good info. If he saw your $250 estimate he'd drop dead! We're going next summer and I pray the Dining Plan is still around. I think the Dining Plan should lower that $250 estimate substantially.

Re: Help.....

at $35/per day I plan to eat like a king on Mickey's dime! I still can't figure how such a good deal is going to last - There must be more uninformed people than informed to capitalize on this plan.

Dana, that is $250 a day for both you and DD. Food, Hotel, clothes, etc.?

Re: Help.....

We didn't do the dining plan this time around because it was still pretty new. We averaged about $150-250 for 3 of us. DH and I usually split lunch as we are not big lunch eaters. The sit down breakfast buffets were usually the cheapest meals and the sit down dinners were anywhere from $80-110. FYI, we did not do both in a day, it was either a breakfast or dinner per day. Believe it or not, the money does add up pretty quick, between snacks, souvenirs, meals etc. Plus DS had his own spending money which I did not include.

Does that $250 include meals and special things?

Thanks

Re: Help.....

Where can I find out more about the dining plan? Do you have to have a certain kind of ticket to get one? Do they cost the same for kids and adults? What if we've already gotten priority seating conf. for one of our park days? I can't figure out where to look for this info.

Re: Help.....

The dining plan is available through Disney Package vacations. Its $35/day per adult. Not sure about kids. Your PS's are fine I guess you are just supposed to let them know you are on the dining plan when you order.

Re: Help.....

I think you should be able to find this all on the Disneyworld website. If not, do the infamous search...google it!
